VIRAL VIDEO SHOWS INMATES ESCAPING FROM YAKIMA COUNTY JAIL

THIS MARKS THE THIRD TIME IN 15 YEARS, INMATES MANAGE TO BREACH SECURITY.
YAKIMA, Wash. -- It's the viral cell phone video that has people around the country talking about Yakima.
Inmates some in their prison uniforms jumping a fence and running into traffic, Monday night.
Jail security officials say this took place around dinner time when 14 inmates first used tables to barricade a door to keep guards out.
Then, breaking tables and using broken pieces to hammer their way through a bolted door.
"They were able to beat the security lock open and were able to access the outside through that door," said Jeremy Welch, Chief of Security Operations.
It's not the first time something like this has happened.
In 2005, during a Thanksgiving weekend escape, 9 inmates got out through a ceiling.
In 2017, two inmates also escaped.
This time, 8 of the fugitives didn't make it that far before they were caught.
One of those inmates was captured by firefighters in front of a fire station, according to Councilwoman Holly Cousens.
Now, authorities are on the hunt for the remaining six.
"The marshall service is now offering up to $1,000 for information leading to the capture of any one of the six," said Casey Schilperoort of the Yakima County Sheriff's Office.
Despite the men being low-level offenders, corrections officers have a warning to the public.
"The risk to the public is there, but at this time is deemed minimal, but still obviously use caution as any escaped inmate could still be considered dangerous," said Welch.
The next steps jail officials say are to bolt down tables to the ground and add more locks on doors.
Meanwhile, the head of security is crediting the capture of the eight inmates on the guard’s quick reaction.
