If this works - you sir deserve an appliance repair medal !! My heat element and high limit switch were both bad at same time, so replaced both - then 3 more high limits before seeing your video. Went to my moisture sensor and a dryer sheet had wedged itself in a crack and was covering half the sensor. Fingers crossed that's all it was - cause I'm sick of taking this thing apart
I absolutely will never buy another Samsung appliance. I am now about to replace this piece for the 4th time! At first I thought it was heating element so I bought the Heating Element kit with athe 4 sensors/fuses. After replacing that a couple of times I bought just the sensors/fuses...and now, I just bought a 4 pack of this particular Thermal Fuse. I'm going to try your suggestion!! Hopefully this stops the insanity of tearing my dryer down about every 30 days! My kingdom for an "old school" style washer & dryer with NO fancy bells, whistles, sensors, etc
you sir are a genius. Awhile back we had a repeat offender Samsung dryer blowing those high limits. Pretty sure we replaced the heat element twice along with that limit fuse. But I now have another "Tool" in my mental "Tool Box" Thank you.
Thank you, our dryer would run but not heat. I saw a video that suggested the centrifugal switch on the motor was faulty, stripped the dryer down, found nothing wrong and put it back together and it worked. 2 weeks later it stopped heating again. I saw this video and realized, I never put anything back together without cleaning it and wiped everything over with a damp cloth. That was probably enough to make it work for a short time. Now cleaned it properly and it is working.
Great suggestion! Just like when a fuse in your car blows, replacing the fuse without taking the time to understand what caused it to blow in the first is a recipe for many future replacements.
This will be the 3rd heating coil, including thermal cut outs, in the last two years in a dv350aep/xac. This dryer runs about 4 times a week and about 2-3 load per. It ran fine for nearly 10 years. This tip sounds like a reasonable solution. I noticed in the comments that it may be related to a relay on the board which I will check as well. Anything else I should check while I'm in there? plz/thx
Hey thanks a million. I always thought my dryer was slacking. Now I know to do that. Right now I'm replacing the belts and rollers. However about crap my pants when I seen all the dog hair going back all the way into the frame. Luckily none of it got caught up in the heating elements! Thanks for the video you got to subscribe and a like out of me.
YES, doing it every 6 months will greatly improve against tripping out the thermal cut off or burning the heating element out. You should get an award for dryer care. LoL.
Hey Richard this is a great video thank you. I have read one of your reply saying "a stuck heater relay on the control board" do you have a video how to change this. My Dryer in Refresh mode blowing hot air. In dry mode dryer keeps giving HC code. I cleaned everything in the machine, I removed the Drum to make sure no lint anywhere but still working 2-3 minutes and giving an HC code stopping the dryer. If you have any idea please let me know. I checked and replaced everything but no luck at all.
I would disconnect the wires from the heater relay on the board and check it for continuity. If it is showing continuity, then it is stuck. Unfortunately, Samsung fills their boards with a glue substance and makes changing the relay difficult. After confirming the relay is stuck, I'd replace it. You could try tapping on the relay to possibly unstick it, but that may only last temporaily. I'll have to try to find a way to unglue one. Thanks for the info and good luck.
@@richardkoon5544 I removed the control board completely and checked the heater relay and it is showing continuity. So now do I have to change the entire board :(?

Check the connection of the hose to the valve. It may need a 1/4 turn to the right to tighten the seal. The valve itself may be faulty and need to be replaced.
Yes, and make sure the vent is clear. You "may" have a bad board. Try a new thermal cut out stat on the element, clean the moisture sensor, and clean the vent from the dryer to the outside of your home. Also clean the lint filter housing. Good luck.
@@honeyography Sounds like a bad main board. Stuck relay or not regulating the temperature. I've got one in the shop I'm going to do a video on. May be a week or so. I'll dig more into it. Thanks for encouraging me to do one.
If it takes more than one cycle to dry, you more than likely have an air flow problem. Check the hose from the dryer to the exit point of the building.
@@richardkoon5544 thanks for the speedy reply. It’s been replaced 3 times and has new vents and the dryer vents are clean. Also the exit on the side of the house is functioning perfect.
