  • RE-UPLOAD Some additional editing to add seperate pictures of the tuner settings.
I try to explain the differences in the mapping you can load onto the WR. If you have any Mapping you like please put it in the comments. I'll try it out and give you my opinions. Maybe you have my next favorite.

I have a 2015 WR250f that I bought gently used with some mods. Came with the ecu and programmer, bike was on slow map. I never changed it until today after 50 hours of riding. It’s on all zero now and the difference is incredible ! It woke this bike up !! Engine feels like a MX bike now and I am so happy about it !!

Great video - thanks for sharing. I tried your soft map and it transformed my 2019 from something way too aggressive on tight trails to an awesome bike.

Nice video, I’m using the “ smooth linear/ slippery conditions map” which is really good for slower, more technical tracks because it doesn’t stall no where near as much as the standard tune, and I’ve noticed having a after market muffler makes a world of different for low end torque and overall power

I just waiting for a bear to come charging out of the woods in these videos in Canada. Great video mate very informative I've been tossing up on a beta RR 350 or the WR 250 but I think this mapping is a big thing and just proves Yamaha is ahead of the game in this area. I'm learning towards the WR.

One thing I would say is depending on your elevation the leaner mapping helps a lot, we usually ride at 9-10kft+ and the bike just runs too rich. I find that it has helped me a lot, mixed with re gearing the bike and the tuner it's way more enduro friendly.

Thanks for sharing, I did not know you could change the engine operation on the fly since the last motorcycle I rode had a carburetor. (insert old person joke here)

I appreciate you posting this video. It’s very helpful. I have a YZ250FX. I’m guessing that it will be similar to your bike. I ordered the tuner to make my bike better in the mountains.

If you don’t want engine breaking shift down and get back on the gas. I never realized how important it was until I got a street bike. Pretty cool how much of a dif. That tuner makes.

I did a single track today and the choice is easy now, thank you!
……. Note to self: ‘need tuner!’

? I'm a little confused. Are you saying that adding fuel and ignition advance tones down the responsiveness? ... and reducing fuel & ignition advance makes it more snappy? I would have thought the opposite?add

There's actually way more to it than that. Before I sold it, I put the "Snappy map" on it which really woke it up and those settings were all over the place. It was a little add here, take away there. I know enough to know I don't know enough. All I can speak to is what I've discovered by messing around with it.

Great video, I just picked up a 2021 WR250F but unfortunately here in the US they don't come with the GYTR Communications Unit. I have tried to order one but apparently they're on backorder till heck freezes over and that's not very likely to happen here in Florida.

Can you tell me exactly what you did to this bike? I have a 17’ of your bike and I feel like she does alright, but could use a little more power. Plus, what’s the pint of having gytr if you don’t use? Awesome video.

I really need to get my hands on a tuner. It feels like the previous owner left a very aggressive map on the bike and in technical areas the bike is almost unmanageable. Sadly, every source has been backordered for months!

Does the WR250f throttle housing have a little mark indicating you should just crack open the throttle during a hot restart? I believe there may be something about it in the owner's manual...

I believe it was on the hand grip which I no longer have on there.

    His maps: Map 1 (333.443.443 / 222.332.332) Map 2 (222.332.332. / 111.221.221) Map 3 (111.221.221 / 000.110.110) Map 4 (Stock - All 000).
I have an '18 WR250F (w FMF Q4 exhaust and filter mod). For super technical single-track trails, I have been running (000.653.653 / 000.-6-5-3.-6-5-3). It's my tractor mode (I can ride up small slopes in 1st without any clutch and or throttle with my idle set at 2100) but it's very rich, so I'm assuming it consumes 10% more gas than stock --- so be aware of that. I'll give Map 2 a try this weekend as I haven't tried a map with both +Fuel with +Ignition. Thanks for the video.
