Remapping your brain is a key concept. Unlearning is important, too. To let go of something that doesn't work, to try something that could work better!
This made me cry because I was heartbroken by someone whom I so admired and loved. One day, I made a choice to live and love myself more. At deepest pain, each of us becomes an artist to create something amazing for ourselves and for others. Thinking leads to action. Now, when I get up each morning, I say this to myself "I love myself and today will as beautiful as I am." This powerful words help me. Today I feel 100% wiser & happier. Our mind is a powerful thing. Regardless how broke or hurt we are, we do have a choice to heal ourselves and it starts with thinking
Amazing talk . I feel bad that so little people have not had the luck to stumble across this talk . Thanks again for the amazing story of your dad . Mad props on the insight from the school story and the store at the 31st mile .
Heartening talk. One of the best ive seen on TED. Resonated with me as i am trying reprogram my thinking after years of believing im worthless and stumbling across videos on neuroplasticity and i too feel a deep longing to help others. Shout out to Adam and his patient and loving foster family. Hope he was able to remain with them and not be shuffled around.
This has been one of the most powerful TED talks I've seen. It's powerful in that Dr. Nathan is relatable and his deliverance is genuine. The most powerful truths revealed in this TED talk: "I realized, I didn't have to be the smartest person in the world to make a difference; that if I was a little farther down the road than somebody else, I could serve them", (5:14-5:29); " . . . and if you want to change your mind you have to be willing to fight for it and you are the only one who can do it. But your.... mindset is not fixed, you can change today the way that you think but it will take effort and it will take time", (10:12-10:30).
OMG that story about the 3-year old kid being put in hot water by his mom at 2 years old made my eyes water up. That picture is really painful to imagine.
This is how adults bad behavior affects and can destroy a children. Your parents was send here to save this children from their hateful parents. God blessed then.
All failed relationships hurt, but losing someone who dosent appreciate and respect u is actually a gain, not a loss.
"Be willing to serve!". (Yourself included) Wonderful!
