Drivers frustrated as 3-year construction project begins on M-14

- At this point, the orange barrels are just about everywhere in metro Detroit. It seems nearly impossible to pick a route to dodge them. There's another big project kicking off this year, this time on M-14. I have been hearing from a lot of frustrated people about all of the construction, and I took those concerns directly to the Michigan Department of Transportation to see why they want to start more work when there is already so much underway.

People complain for years about the roads being terrible. Then they complain when the roads are being repaired. People just love to complain. Gretch said she'd fix the damn roads and that's what she's doing.
The work has to be done and all these side roads are going to be a nightmare 😫
I rather have construction then big pot holes. Even though it is so frustrating to us all, they should not do it all at once. I'm sure some of us heard that's our states States Moto orange barrels🥺
I try and find different routes if possible, leave earlier, instead of feeling rushed
Commuter Rail would be a "GOOD Alternative" if it existed 🙄.
We asked the Gov to fix the Damn Roads. You can't say she's not doing. Places that fixed are wonderful.

Right! I may not agree with the governor in all areas but this I support 100 %. People will still complain during road construction when they are finally being fixed.
It just feels like it's way too much going on at once almost as if they want us to be irritated, frustrated, impatient, angry ect.🤔

I-75 has been "under construction" the entire time i've lived in ohio. Hope Detroit gets it done quick, not take 20 friggen years 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Sit down for 5 minutes and plan an alternate route. I live in the area and I guarantee there's work arounds that might save time as opposed to sitting in the traffic every day. All I hear is people complain about the roads and then construction when they fix them. Be glad they at least fix shit and are doing their job. They aren't replacing a whole ass freeway just cus they felt like it.
