    Update - 7/13/2021 - The right door we took to a dealership and was able to get that fixed pretty easy.. _ for the radio they said there is an update coming out that should fix that.

    Hello, I just watched your video about your Chrysler 2018 Pacifica. I also had the same door issue. It continued to get worse, when I took to the dealership (bumper to bumper warranty) I had them check out the door issue. They told me they had "adjusted the doors.' Sadly, the door were not fixed and continued to get worse to the point where they would not close until I had the front doors closed. Well, only 2-3 years later and finally they fixed the issue. A computer update is what they told me was needed. It was covered on my bumper to bumper warranty. The money for that warranty was the best money I have ever spent. It has paid for itself almost x3 now.

    Thank you for posting this! I’m looking at a 2018 Pacifica for our family right now. This was so helpful.

    I had the same issue with the left sliding door on my Town and Country. Probably used the same tech. Upgrading to a 2018 Pacifica Touring L Plus!

    I am expecting my second child and strongly considering buying a Pacifica. It’s nice to see a review from someone else who has 2 children who are still in car seats.

    Hi 👋 I’m buying a used clean one with 40k miles and I really like the functionalities this nice looking minivan offers but I’m afraid of some reviews stating : “Owners reported that the transmission would disengage itself multiple times while driving. ... 2018 Pacifica models had electrical problems along with some new suspension complaints. Did you run into any of these problems ?

    • @MarcLawsonJr
      @MarcLawsonJr  3 года назад +2

      The Pacifica has where the engine basically turns off when you stop but I haven't experienced the transmission disengaging itself... I have that door issue that I showed... I'm planning on taking it to a dealership this weekend to see if they fix it.. and might make a video depending on the results

    Love the versatility as I’m looking at these as a possible camper or cargo van when needed. Just curious, what kind of mileage are you getting on just highway miles? Thanks for the update video and good to know about your spare tire episode. I think the newer models don’t even come with a spare anymore.

      its pretty good. I never checked the exact milage but I know for long trips where I would have to fill up 2-3 times With this one its only once. Still Loving the Pacifica

    I just bought one of these on Carvana. Amazing, it's a 2018 with less than 7k miles on it. If you stow both the mid and third rows, is there room to put in a mattress to sleep on like a camper van?

    Couple years ago we bought a 2018 Pacifica from Carmax, low mileage. I hate the car but the AC works better than my 2010 minivan so I drive it in the hot AZ summer. The start/stop feature is a pain in the butt...you are idling/waiting at a red stop light and your engine turns off. Then when the light turns green your car automatically starts up again when you apply the gas, but it is jerky and delayed action and cars honk at you for taking so long to get going. This feature is run off a small motorcycle-type battery and when that battery wears out, your car becomes normal with no annoying start/stop feature.
    The other thing I don’t like is the push button start and the dial for shifting gears instead of a stick shift like all normal cars have. Furthermore the sun shines on the big screen and you get a glare and can’t read the time or anything. Also, you have to spend too much time away from watching the road to figure out the AC settings, the print is very tiny for the time and temperature and radio, and I still can’t find which screen my compass is on.
    I want my knobs and clock back so I can adjust things with just a quick glance and not have to take extra seconds/minutes to study the screen while driving and the sun is glaring on it.
    Also, I absolutely hate getting gas. There is no gas cap...just some rubber gasket that you have to force the gas nozzle through. Sometimes your gas backs up while you are filling the tank...the gas nozzle never fits in right... have to pump slow so the gas doesnt back flow.
    I just really hate this car and will dump it as soon as I can. I get 26mpg on the hwy and 16 in town.
    I have had Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler minivans since 1989. I love my 2010 so much that when a deer hit me and took out the computer system, I drove 4000 miles to find an exact replacement. The 1989 was the best one and I kept it for 20 yrs even though it was a lemon and I had to get a new engine at 75k miles. The Pacifica is the worse.

      Ya I'm sorry for your experience, I find a few people have issues using the start and stop feature.. it's easy you just release the break and then the vehicle starts again... Many people hit the gas to fast and cause them multiple issues... You might be a little rough with it. I get 33-34 MPG on the highway. I don't do much city.. but it's around 18 when I do.. I'm pretty easy on it.. I have put 60k miles on it myself and just replaced my tires.. I could have probably gotten a few more out of them but with me doing so much highway I didn't want take the chance.. I did have to replace the small start and stop battery once.. but that is what it is..

      Waaaa waaaa waaaahh Why don't you complain a little more Im sure you can find more things if you try harder over the stupidest stuff...
      If you don't like the ESS then you shouldn't have bought the van or did the research first, that's your fault. If your gas backs up your overfilling it which will kill any evap system, fill till it clicks ONCE then stop you don't keep trying ro cram in more and it will never back up, mine never has once, and most newer vehicles don't have gas caps it makes life easier, no doubt your old you should appreciate one less step. You don't like the dial shift you shouldn't have bought it and if you can't read the screen get better glasses... Remember it takes less energy being positive than negative.
      I have the Pacifica it's gorgeous and wouldn't change a thing..!!
      Cheers🥂

    I love Chrysler products, and I am currently thinking on buying either this Pacifica or the Sienna in 2018-19. I am glad you have plenty of enjoyment with your Pacifica. However, One of the most annoying features on these Chryslers was, that they began coming out with no spare wheel or jack!! In 2019 my sister bought the Grand Caravan at a dealership and I was appalled at being told of this. Instead they provided the victim with a gizmo with liquid glue kit which made me laugh on the spot. So, I really wish someone would (in their video) show what type of spare and equipment does the Pacifica bring.

    I had the exact trim as a rental car. I had the same problem with the radio. I didn’t know there was a way to reset it so I drove 500 miles with it saying Chrysler😂 I liked it but overall the quality just wasn’t up to par for me. The signal stock felt like I was break it pressing on it. The backup camera was horrible quality.

      The center console is a little weird sometimes... The auto start battery went dead once.. had no idea there was 2 batteries inside the vehicle.. it made the main battery die.. So if you're main battery dies I would definitely go get the small one check.. but that was around 60-75k I think..
      But I would consider those things to be minor... I really like it... I have had 0 major issues... Everything was a few hundred to get fixed... About to replace the break's for the first time.. I'm an easy driver...
      I feel like I will keep it till I get to 150-200k+ & then look for an electric Van or something... But I'm keeping her till someone really makes sense for the family.

      2018 Was a wonderful year for this vehicle. I think we're around 135,000 mi drove across the country multiple times. The center display / computer still's been finicky on and off. Like in one of my videos the only issue I had was the small battery that died and I talked about that. And the door that popped open but it was a warranty issue and it was an easy fix.

    DON'T BUY A PACIFICA! If I can save one person from getting stuck with one of these my time is worth it. A warning to prospective buyers: I bought a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica with only 11,500 MI back in May. Since I purchased it the start-stop feature stopped working and the whole car just died at a stop. Got that battery replaced and automatic start stop still didn't work. Then a couple of months later I was driving on the freeway and the car started to stall and I couldn't control it as well. It had a warning alarm going off to service the power steering. I had the car fixed for that and then 2 weeks later I had the SAME problem plus like five other error codes such as service shifter, break not available, service electronic stability control etc. It won't drive.
    All Kia dealerships in my area are always backed up at least a week for service appointments (because they have so many problems)
    Most people don't have rental coverage and if they do they will not give you a rental until your appointment date so you do not have a car for over a week unless you are going to come out of pocket to rent one. I went on Chrysler Pacifica forums and saw all these problems people have with them such as not being able to turn off cruise control AT ALL when they are on the freeway and it even accelerating on its own or the car doing automatic emergency braking on it's own without cause on the freeway jeopardizing people's lives. So many complaints to the NHTSA. I'm considering selling the car now to CarMax and buying a different brand van. What's a shame is someone else is going to be stuck with this potentially unsafe and DEFINITELY unreliable car. I'm outside the California lemon law limits of 18 months or 18,000 miles so I can't go that route. This is just a huge headache! Save yourselves.

    • @MarcLawsonJr
      @MarcLawsonJr  2 года назад +1

      I have never had it stall.. I think that could be caused by the auto start feature. Basically you sit for 5 seconds and then when you take your foot off the brake the vehicle starts again.. but I think if that 2nd battery gets low it potentially could cause that. Or for the van not to start. It was pre-owned had like 8k miles on it it now has like 55k
