When you went looking for the bathrooms up that cobble stone street, the building to your right with the big octagonal chimney is over 150 years old. It was called Philadelphia Warehousing and Cold Storage. Too bad it closed because inside the Boiler House had ammonia compressors. I delivered industrial pipe and supplies to that building and it was like stepping back to the late 1800s. There was old graffitti and hiden areas in there.
Greyhound brings back memories but I never went into the bathrooms at the terminals because it was downtown everywhere full of bums and pervs.
They're supposed to be renovating 30th St. Station soon, it wouldve made so much sense if they made that space on the south side of the building facing Market into an integrated bus station, but its instead being turned into an indoor promenade + park. Absolutely no forthought going into the planning of mass transit in Philly.
Totally agree. Just spent almost an hour on Thankgiving waiting for a MegaBus 2 blocks down on Schylkill that never arrived. Had to completely change my travel plans on a major holiday. SMH 😢
That's the old club Egypt
I remember catching the bus there back in the day! You don't really want to leave Philly anymore when your staring at Delilahs from the parking lot.
And who is walking down a dark alley in Philly to piss? Please, don't get murdered and hold it!
Hold my cigar please
And what about people with disabilities ,a medical condition that you must go right away,or seniors?
Sounds discriminatory.
Not everyone that comes to the city is young & able bodied.
I’ve travelled around in Asia where it feels modern but when I return to America it feels undeveloped and outdated
@@ramencurry6672just came back from China, I know exactly what u mean.
LOL!! It was sooo quiet inside. It would have been a perfect opportunity to yell "HERRREEE WEEEE AREEE!" hahaha
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's a club on the corner. I can see people going to wanting to get in there to use bathroom. Someone else mentioned the bikes up and down Delaware Ave. too . The gas station is very busy
Egypt should have held out a little longer. Had they only had the forethought that the city elders would decide to move the main bus terminal to east Jabip they could be raking it in now.
Happy Thanksgiving Captain to you and your family, stay safe my friend✌
I would love to try city living for maybe a month. It’s no secret there’s a lot of murder and mayhem associated with Philly. That’s all the news shows. But your video adventures make me curious about city life. Being in the suburbs all of my 70 years I might be a fish out of water but I’d like to ride the train, ride a Septa bus, take a stroll through Little Italy. Have lunch in the park by the library bell. I realize this will never happen. So thanks for providing the next best thing.
You can always visit and do those things...
That's just as bad with all of the traffic that's down there especially when the weather is warmer. Are you kidding me? Not to mention the club that's right there on the corner and the meeting place gas station of all the illegal bikes and car meets across the street sometimes close to a hundred plus. Plus the new expensive condos that are being built on the other side of Columbus Ave. Yeah, they want a bus depot there them while living on the waterfront.
Happy Thanksgiving Philly Captain and the rest of yous! God bless
Greyhound and Trailway used to have bus stations downtown.
The dumpsters are the bathrooms.
Hey PHILLY CAPTAIN great video around Delaware & Spring Garden Sts by the relocated Greyhound/Peter Pan bus terminal..TOODLES..
You are the man with the Scooter!
Happy Thanksgiving thanks for the video
I will take the high speed line to the Camden bus terminal to take the bus to the shore. There are seats and bathrooms there.
Look like the Christmas Episode from Martin
Really what the hell is wrong with greyhound no restrooms stand outside in below freezing windchill is this 2023 they should be shut down America deserves better shame on them and septa for Kensington get it together bus companies smh
They got rid of the bathroom because the homeless people come in and destroy them they poop on the walls someone committed suicide in the bathroom at the old terminal at 10th and filbert the homeless mess up everything they didn't want to have benches because the homeless would come in and take over that but they put some benches in the new station
There gonna sell way less tickets since the burban people can't take a direct train to the station
Good show! Happy Thanksgiving!
Lack of bathrooms ....could this be an ADA violation?
No, not in the third world.
Happy Turkey Day Captain!🍗🥧🍺
Should've never moved it from filbert street. Way less connected and convenient than a bus terminal in center city.
Yooo the ave is there! It’s a night club and always got the best djs in town 😎
That gas station chicken strips is the BEST especially when it’s hot and fresh at 2am after the shows lol
Maybe new mayor will tackle this problem you have to have a restroom.
Funny, all through the late 70’s till 2008 I never had a problem finding a pace to urinate.
And I actually felt safe back then……hmmmmmmmm
Happy Thanksgiving .
Man that Philly accent is on point. My man is from Delco for sure. GO BIRDS
You forgot to talk about isolation and weirdos
Wow i thought they were using the old greyhound place behind the gas station!! Where that big lot is!!
Absolutely not they are high price condos now in the building phase
For the love of god,I still don't know why they moved from Filbert St, if anyone knows please let me know. I have a theory though, making room for the new Sixers stadium.
How far is the train station from the bus station? I'll be coming in from NYC Saturday night and I want to take the El at 11th Street.
You should go to the bus station near 30 th street station, the first thing you notice is that people sitting on the ground because while they’re waiting for the bus simply because they don’t have no seats or little kiosk to cover during cold or hot weather!! Miserable!!
Please make a video of it hopefully they can see it and do something about it
This is crazy… Who is walking behind that dark building; to the imaginary bathroom?
Such a large buss company and no bathrooms or benches
Well, when ya have irresponsible humans destroying everything it’s a tad bit futile to keep fixing and replacing.
Ever walk in to a junkie public restroom? Ever sit on a public bench after a bed bug/lice infected person just got up?
Wow!!! What a bad location. You have to take an Uber or El train to get there.
The saga of the moving Philly bus terminal is a disgrace. The desolate area is a muggers delight. No bathrooms is just one problem. The bus terminal should be located near 30th Street Station, where all of its food, shelter, security and restroom facilities would be available. And it would offer convenient transfers to Amtrak and SEPTA Regional Rail lines and also N. J. Transit trains. Some N. J. Transit bus service operates there too.. Also available would be SEPTA's Market Frankford Subway Elevated and several SEPTA bus and five trolley lines. It would be perfect.
It's weird. Philadelphia has recently been moved to the #1 Most Walkable City in the US by USA Today. The city is putting in bike lanes and bringing back the trolleys, but then they do stuff like this. A major pedestrian area is not very pedestrian friendly. Also, Cars Ruin Cities
What do people do when it rains or snows?
We will find out soon
Aaaaaahhhhhhh…… couldn’t of picked a shadier spot for a bus station.
I cannot believe they put the bus station there😮 All that money greyhound made off of people, crazy. And if my mind serves me correctly 🤔 the bus station building was a drug treatment center, when I drove pass. The casino is a joke 💯
Do people sometimes have accidents in their Pants?
Krispy Krunchy chicken is amazing.
Remind me NEVER EVER to catch Greyhound!!!!!!!!
SMH
No ski mask? What about covid?
One of the dumbest ideas. Too much traffic and no where to stand out of the weather.
Won I evah ot og lla eht yaw wnod gnirps nedrag rof a sub tekcit hms
