China has more ships than the US on paper, but 100+ of those ships are coastal ships. (Coast Guard) They can't venture off to far from their shores, unlike the US, with 11 Aircraft carriers 💪and a Strike force alongside them that will assist Japan, SK, and the Philippines if China starts something.

As a Filipino, I have always dreamed that my country The Philippines could one day have the might to stand up against greedy and power-hungry countries like China. Seeing how powerful Japan is, I feel envious. Unfortunately, we can only rely on our allies to defend our territories, shameful as it may seem we can only swallow our pride and accept the help and "donations" from other countries. I believe the Japanese Navy , by itself, would inflict terrible damage upon the Chinese Navy. Just like the USN, the Japanese are well trained and know how to fight naval battles, the Chinese do not.

I don't think the Izumo and Kaga really are enough to defeat China. They are far too small to make a huge difference even if they carry some F-35B. I mean, they are certainly nice to have but China's 3 carriers are larger so in a pure battle between the carriers, China would still likely win while US would easily win against China.
So yeah, I would be "shocked" if 2 smaller carriers would defeat 3 larger even if Japanese fighter planes are better. Izumo and Kaga could maximum carry 28 F-35B but usually just carry 12 each as well as a bunch of helicopters. China's can carry 90 together. You could argue that if Japan max out their fighters from normal 24 to 56 their better technology could make the difference and that is true and would make a far more even match but the target of each plane would be to try to take out the enemy carriers, not the other fighters and the fewer planes needs to take out 3 carriers compared to 2 so I would say the odds still are better for China then Japan.
I don't see a battle like that happening anyways, no one only attacks with all their carriers so in reality you have a lot of support ships and hopefully some allies too.
Carriers are great but it is really the land based planes that makes the largest difference. If the battle is close to one sides land based planes, they will have a huge advantage.
If China attacks Taiwan the US airfields in the Philippines will be immensely important.
The big problem I see in your presentation is China has well over 8,000 short and medium range rocket and missile all capable of hitting any target within Japan Vietnam and the Philippines. This means all airfields and shipping ports within there range will come under attack including any carrier task forces within the first hour of combat.
This forces the USA to fight the conflict from carriers that have to stay out to sea to avoid long range hypersonic anti ship missiles. War gaming used to defend Taiwan ( not attacking China in force ) showed a loss of three carrier groups and five badly damaged requiring years for repairs before Chinese forces were subdued from invading Taiwan. China holds the advantage of unsinkable carriers as in its island in the SCS which can be quickly repaired and replacement aircraft flown in.
The US carrier groups are forced to stay further out to sea and use refuelling drones to provide further range to attack aircraft but this has cost ten combat aircraft to provide a adequate service reducing the carriers impact.
Resupply ships will become key targets requiring heavy combat screening drawing down escort resources etc. Any combat against China is not going to be greatly effected by Japan building a carrier
@@kentriat2426 Missiles are certainly a problem since if China sends enough of them it will overwhelm any missile defenses. I don't see them taking out all airfields in Japan, South Korea and the Philippines though, Russia also have a lot of those but haven't been able to take out the Ukrainian air fields but they can certainly disrupt the US.
I would expect cruise missiles to go both ways, in US and Japan's case from missile cruisers and submarines but China still have an advantage there since they have a long coast to launch from while Japan still is a bit short on missiles.
I don't think China would win if they start, I am not sure anyone would win since there is a real risk it would start WW3 if they do.
But I still think China's fleet would have problem with the American fleet, China have more ships but the majority of them are smaller.
But you are right of course, anything can happen in war. Taking out an airfield for more then 24 hours isn't as easy as it sounds, particularly if there is STOVL planes like the F35B there.
