RAJA PIHILLA, THE ROYAL BATH OF KANDY, SRI LANKA
Raja pihilla (The royal bath) A granite basin to collect water, which has three spouts for three people to bath at once.
According to the history this place was exclusively used by royal families in the kingdom of kandy. This bathing spout is located about 600m away from the ampitiya junction at the end of the kandy lake.
During the reign of king Keerthi sri rajasinghe (1747-1782AD) of the kandyan kingdom was ordered by the king to be reserved for the use of the royal family. The bathing place called raja pihilla was built by the last king of sri lanka,Sri wickrama rajasinghe.(1798-1815AD)
