this is what it did but i got the 64gb model , 512 sd card, and bought a 1tb ssd. all roms on the sd and all steam games on the ssd. switch games and updates whoohoo take up a lot of space. i do wanna reset the sd card so i can fix a few issues i had with my roms but im to lazy and i got it working lol
Wish I had watched this before today. Deck got delivered this morning and I stated downloading some games I had picked up in Summer Sale. Had I😮 known I could transfer from PC over local network, I would have pre-installed them on my PC days ago 😂😂. Oh well, I still have a fair few older games that I can still make use of the local transfer option. Thanks for the tips, dude.

For the going offline part: just go ahead and 🏴☠️🪝 the games you already own. DRMs are shitty and if you’ve already bought the game then sometimes it’s easier to just download a repack then transfer the files to your steam deck using a usb stick than trying to fiddle with scripts to get external launchers and offline DRMs working. A great example of this is just about any game from EA

I got the 256gb model, i put a 1tb sd card in it, half of it is for storing roms for my emulators and the other half is for steam games.

Game Transfer didn’t work for me. It was way slower than 100mb/s. Downloading was faster :D. So i guess it depends on

@mycelium1456 you can torrent natively on the steam deck, and unpack any game with proton layers, super easy to 🏴☠️ on the steam deck.
