  • The organ at Eenum (Groningen Province) was built by Arp Schnitger in 1704. The pipework in 7 of its 10 registers is original, including the 8ft 'Trompet'. Pedals permanently coupled. 1/4 Comma Mean-tone Temperament.
Sietze de Vries's improvisation on a theme from the Geneva Psalter perfectly illustrates the remarkable versatility and power of this small, one manual, village church organ.

This melody isn't from any psalter actually. It's (among others) the German choral 'Von Gott will ich nicht lassen', which is derived from a french secular tune: Une jeune fillette de grand' valeur. This puts the joyfull play of Sietse possibly in a new perspective?!? Thanks a lot for sharing, though!
