Thank you so much! I love the tutorial. I'm just wondering what i should do to stop the thong from giving me a 'camel toe' look? I've made a second thong with a longer 4 chain/hdc area but I still have the same problem. I'm assuming sewing a thick piece of material on the crotch would do the trick?
Thank you for that question. If it's giving you the camel, that means it's too wide for you in the middle and low front areas. I think if you delayed starting the increases (which I think that's what you did) for a few rows and then increase every other row (instead of every row) for the first 6 to 8 rows it should keep its design but be slimmer.
At about 17 minutes in. So increase to have 6 hdc. Then just do 6 hdc in the next row. Then increase in the middle to 8 hdc, and then 8 hdc in the next row. Do this until you feel it fits better. Essentially we want to slow down how wide it's getting in the low front to stop the camel. As you get up further keep putting it up against yourself to see if its slim enough & you can start to increase every row once you like how it's fitting.
@@karlycarter5172 Thanks for letting me know about that issue! I might have to redo this for size small. Mine fit me M/L but was slightly wide on my model in the front for size S. Are you size small?
i know this is old but, for anyone confused like me: the decrease while still doing 13 hdc makes it 12 on the other side no matter what, she didn't mess up in the video, but blocking the finished product took out any unevenness for me anyways. love this tutorial, very easy to follow and im in love with the finished product 🥰😍
Honestly, Thankyou for this. not many creatives do these types of underwear. you saved my life..... I was looking for a pattern to go with my crochet mesh for so long!!!! this is perfect
I've been surching a video tutorial on how to make a high raise / high leg bikini crochet for months, until the point that I gave it up. So thank you sooo soo much for sharing your talent with us. I will just say please keep sharing new models of high raise/leg bikinis. 🙏🏽 (sorry for my english, I am from France🙈) P.s. If you need sole suggestions, I have pleinty, just let me know 🙈❤
Hmm I could not tell why it seemed so odd how you make your HDC. It was driving me nuts! Then I realized that you are actually yarning under and not yarning over. For my amigurumi I make my single crochet stitches use the YU/YO instead of the typical YO/YO. found it gives the stitches an X shape instead of a Y shape and it makes the stitches a lot tighter together. I’m going to try your YU/YU way of doing HDCs and see how it looks.
Hi Daleea! ☺You can stop at 16 hdc, unless you want it longer. We already had extra rows in the beginning, 11 rows of 4 hdc is where large gets its length it needs.
Hey, when doing the size large its 11 rows all together? Do I add more chains somewhere else or does thong and strings to tie at the end has to do with adjustment?
Thank you for the question! Are you referring to the 11 rows of 8 hdc? You can add more rows there. For large, you can do 15-17 rows as you like and the strings will help it be adjustable. Sorry, it was my first video.
@@taurneshiaowens Sorry about that, but yes...if it's not for you and you can't try it on as is. I would do 15 rows to be safe and the strings will make up for adjustment.
Hello M. Yes, you can begin increasing in the back in earlier rows like the front side. So instead of doing 6(S), 8(M), or 11(L) rows of 4 hdc, in the back, you can start your increases in the 2nd or 3rd row, in the back. If you start increasing earlier you will have more coverage, depending on how much coverage you want. Just make sure your crotch length (in center of V) in the back is halfway for your desired length. I might do a video on this one with more coverage soon.
hi, a little confused on the crotch part- after reattaching you said to do a row of 4 HDC followed by an extra 2, but then mentioned thats for a small- so for a M/L would i also do an additional couple rows of HDC before increasing?
I think I figured it out! I combined the measurements from your other tutorial- thank you so much, i was looking everywhere for good thong tutorials!!!!
Hi Carolyn. Thanks for the question. You are right, that part did sound confusing after I rewatched. Sorry, this was my first tutorial lol. But, I think I say the extra rows should have been added in the back half already before we reattach. No, I would not add more of the skinny row for sake of coverage of your lady area. I think the safest way is to measure your desired crotch length and make sure from front to back (in the middle of the V part) it is long enough for you. I recommend S (14-15 inches), M (15-16 inches long), L (16-17 inches), but it's best to measure yourself or client if possible so you can see if you want low rise or high rise. In this way, you can add more rows to the piece right before you start the divided two sides, more towards the very front.
Thank you so much for this tutorial :). Quick question: After reading the comments about the 'camel-toe" look, I've decided to increase every other row in the back for size medium. Since I increased every other row instead of every row, that essentially made them longer. When I get to the V-shape, should I stick with 11 rows of the 8 HDC or do less rows? I'm sorry if this question has already been addressed.
You are so sweet Quindara! Thank you for your question. After further understanding now... essentially, the problem here is that only the skinny part isn't long enough in the front. I would extend the skinny part by 2 rows in the front. This being my 1st video ever...the skinny part needs to be a tad longer in the front. The camel toe comes from the front being too wide too fast. I've learned a lot from the comments.
@@ChardeCrochets Thank you! I just realized that I was working on the back first, not the front, so I didn't really need to increase every other row on the back, just the front side. Thank you again!
That's a good question because I did not address that. The most important part of doing the medium is getting the crotch length to be 15-16 inches long. But I think you're refering to the top part on the sides where there's 11 rows of 8 hdc. In general, you can do 13 or 14 rows for medium and 16 or 17 rows for large to make it longer. Because the string ties it, It doesn't have to be exact but, yes it should be longer for medium and large. Thanks for that question! It really helps me improve my explanations 😊
If you want to get in the water I would at least use cotton. There are other types of yarn that have elastine or polyester that offer stretch but you have to find them.
Alize Diva Stretchy yarn but is very thin yarn. There's "Katia Seacell Cotton" that has COTTON 75% LYOCELL 25%. There's "Nako Comfort Stretch" 90% microfiber acrylic, 10% polyester. And then newer is "Yarn Bee Comfy Classic" with 48% Viscorse, 30% Polyester & 22% Nylon. These would be most ideal for stretch and against the water. But regular cotton should be much better than acrylic against water.

Done!! I’m now making a medium and large also. Thank you.
Yay!😊☺💕💕 Thanks! Im so glad you like this tutorial!
Thank you for this pattern. But if I’m making it for a large, how much chains do I start with?
It should be the same amount as the video says unless I point out its different for the sizes
Do i double the amount of initial chains if I'm using a 2mm yarn/hook? Doing 4 made it way too small for the crotch
I am sorry, but I don't know
Can this be done using single crochet?
That's a good question...but I'm not sure. Maybe you could but that takes time to figure out
Can anyone tell me where i can get a pattern to make a V waisted crochet pants?
I haven't seen that, but that sounds like it would be cute. Idk if I'll have time for that one right now, but it's a cute idea 💡 ☺️
