- A while back, I was asked by my friend Alissio if I would be interested in filming an interview with a Monk at Wat Damnak.
Of course, I said yes. It was great fun and a challenging edit seeing how we had 5 camera angles.
I do have to say that this video was one of the most difficult and time-consuming edits that I have ever done.

Very nice 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you very much.🤗🤗🤗
Great job! ❤
Thank you my friend🙏
Always great talking to the locals!
Talking to the locals is the best way to understand a country.
Making friends with them is even better.
Lovely work, Kelly! It's great to hear from the very articulate Vn about pagoda life.
It was great fun doing the entire progect.
Definitely different… thanks for great info… great effort in editing…
Thank you very much Mimi. It was a challange editing but even that was fun.
Wonderful video Kelly . The temples are one of the main reasons I love that part of the world. I was at Wat Damnak several times when I was staying in Siem Reap for a couple of months back in 2017.
I’m Canadian, and became Buddhist some years ago. I hope to return this year to stay and live my last years there.

Nice video thanks !
Thank you too! And thank you for watching !
It was cool for my wife and I to meet you a week ago, or so, on the dirt path by your girlfriends home. This is Warren, by the way.
Yes it was. When I get back in about a month we should meet up for coffee or some.
Kelly , is Dave OK I’m concerned
Peter Sukhothai
Yeah, Dave is ok. I just talked to him.
With his niche, one can really run out of things to vlog about.
Dave has been doing it for 5 + years and has done the same topics several times.
He is taking some time off and putting effort into his other channels and endeavors.
He assured me that he will have another video out soon.
What about a young poor girl? Girls can't be monk.
You are correct, Girls can not be monks, but, they can become Laypersons and in some places they can become Nuns.
I use to go to a Vietnamese temple in California and there were several Nuns there.
Also as you can see in the video that there was many girls going to school at the Temple.
I have a few Khmer friends who's daughters go to school at either Wat Damnak or Wat Bo.
Thanks for watching🙏
In Thailand a 55 year old Buddhist nun Vanavichayen in 2002 became the first female monk. She was ordained by a female Sri Lankan monk in the presence of a male Thai monk!
