The spike tv era was one of the best for James.
James was like the Howard Stern of movie reviews when he was on Spike TV
When was James Rolfe on Spiketv?
@@danseth5775 if I'm remembering correctly he was hosted on their website and did some exclusive reviews. This must have been at least a decade and a half ago by now.
Crazy, how hard the quality dropped since then
And for humanity.
This is one of the top 5 Cinemassacre videos, I have seen it hundreds of times, and can watch it over and over again and never get board.
joint and a cup of coffee these are great vids
I know that's just a typo, but "board" sounds funny here
Another classic. I too really love Tim Burton's "Ed Wood", I saw a bit of it on either "Sundance" or "IFC", then I bought the movie from Target one day and saw the movie in its entirety. A fantastic love letter to such an eccentric director.
James introduced me to Ed Wood, I seen the Johnny Depp movie twice.
you seen, or you have seen?
Ed Wood is my favorite Tim Burton film by far. Great video James...
one of my all time favorite film analysis vids from james
watched this one numerous times and got me into ed wood along with the burton film based on him
James Rolfe is the one who introduced me to Ed Wood.
The Dracula cape had a salmon pink lining. The one Criswell is wearing in Orgy of the Dead has a silver lining and was probably a stage worn cape
Only seen Plan 9 from Outer Space and Orgy of the Dead, felt like I was on something!
Glen and Glenda seem to be the inspiration for the Chucky characters with the same names.
My favorite classic Cinemassacre video & I still remember when this video was new.
Funny how James ended up being in the remake of Plan 9.
"Future events, such as these, will affect you in the future." -Criswell
Damn how did he know
This is true as hell.
Gotta love Lugosi's laugh ☺
The inspiration for the counts laugh on Sesame Street
omg, he mentioned the movie Wavelength at 3:16, i didn't know he mentioned it before. A couple years ago he made a review of the worst movie he has ever seen and it was that one
So THAT'S what Glen from Seed of Chucky's name was a reference to
I bought his boxed set around 2004 at suncoast in the killeen mall when i was in the army, lol
Awesome video James. Cheers keep up the good stuff
I will just say what everyone else says: I admire that Ed Wood believed so strongly in himself in spite of his lack of both talent and funds. It seems like he made what he wanted to make, whether or not anyone else wanted it. That's part of his appeal. Also just the sheer whatthefuckery. And the Burton movie is amazing. It more or less expresses the same thing I just said, albeit 30 years earlier and infinitely better than I did, haha.
Eddie Wood made great movies! Most of them are at least enjoyable, even if semi-ironically. If anyone wants bad then there's Coleman Francis...
Another great video!!
Bride Of The Monster is one of my top 10 movies purely because it's so ridiculous and has so many clichés, but that makes it an extremely fun film to watch, and Bela Lugosi obviously is so enjoyable to watch in it. I do put it on quite a lot.
My Grandmother loves this
Still maintain this to anybody who thinks these films are bad try to make a film with the same technology and get them released to cinemas.
That's an illogical comment that I see a lot. You can critique something without having the same ability to make it yourself. Most critics are people who don't have the ability to create what they're critiquing, but they can still tell you what's good and bad about it.
You know Eddie Wood and i were born on the same day October 10 but in different years WOOF FAAAAAAAA😮 6:53
So Ed Wood was basically the Neil Breen of the 1950s
Ed was a true talent. Neil is an empty pseudoartist.
Wood wasn't an egomaniac, he didn't even appeared in his movies except Glen or Glenda, and he was a good looking man unlike Neil
As James said, "Ed Wood was born to make movies". Neil Breen was born to save humanity from mega-corporations and greedy elitists through secretive technological means.
A beautiful tribute.
I think Tor just said "knock around a whale". Not sure how it would help though.
The films:
Glen or glenda (1953)
Bride of the monster (1955)
Plan 9 from outer space (1959)
Night of the ghouls (1959)
Orgy of the dead (1965)
Ed wood (1994)
Throw gold? This is what Tiny Terrors from Gingerdead man 2 was referring to?
Yep, I Love that Movie and all things Ed Wood
I vill not go near that god damned thing. One of them burned me in the Return of Chandu
In Plan 9, they can't even get the name of the bomb consistent. Is it Solanight or Solaranight?
PULL THE STRING!
0:28 That Title!
Plan 9 from outer space terrible but watchable movie 😊
A whole rice of pipple
Will people remember Neil Breen the same way we remember Ed Wood?
I strongly doubt it and seriously hope they dont.
The same way no, Breen's idiosyncracies are something completely his own
I can't wait until you repost Alien Invaders and Their Remakes!
3:15 Foreshadowing
So cool 😎
James was a part of Spike?!?! What the fuck hahaha

Is this ed wood from family guy?
nice.
I’ve watched all these multiple times. Wood is too entertaining to be the worst director.
Orgy of the Dead was a great movie
"LOOKINARAWNDALILAWL"
Thats what Tor was saying.
How old is this video?!
I wish there was a tell for this. In the title or something...
@@NetConsole ...hehe, sarcasm. Subtle way to say "check the description!" lol
@@favoritemustard3542You don’t even have to check the description. It’s right there in the title!
Spike TV lol
