  • Another Great light jazz Bass from the early 70s here at andy's vintage guitars.
    This bass has definitely seen some action, look at all that wear ...
    But it plays, feels and sounds amazing...
    All that mojo maybe?
    Enjoy

    Nothing sounds like a well worn Jazz bass

    I love your playing 🔥🎵🎶🎵 🔥 - the only reason I watch all your videos, even though I definitely can't afford one of your basses.

    Awesome as always Andy! Well done. What a great tone ooof🥰
    I’m wondering how you recorded it? What is the signal chain? Was it directly connected to the laptop? Or did you use mic in front of a cab? Or both? What DAW did you use?…. Sorry for asking too many questions 😊

    I can never stop telling this story;
    I bought a ‘73 Pbass at a Mom n Pop store back in ‘90… the owner wanted $500 for it..but instead, I went even up, swapping a ‘79 Ric for it. A few weeks later, he implied to me that I was a sucker for doing that,..because the Ric sold in days, and the 73P that I bought, was hanging on the rack for years,.. nobody wanted it _(you have to remember; throughout the 1980s, P Basses were NOT “En Vogue”)_
    Fast-forward 3 years later,… and the word “old” was replaced with; “vintage”.. and then Fenders and Gibsons started to $hoot through the roof.
    I found myself at a gig playing my ‘73P, and some drunk dude was whipping out $2000 in cash begging me for it. _(that was back in ‘93 do the math what that would be today!)_
    I say all that to say this;
    I owned a ‘73P & a ‘73J…
    But these days, to start paying $3000-$4000, even up to $5000 for those “CBS basses”? with the lack of quality control that was going on back then?
    That’s just crazy. They’re Not Worth that much. You’re better off seeking out; Olinto, MV, Moolon, Sire, or any of those similar companies, paying 3Gs, and getting MUCH MORE for your money.
    _(the PRE-CBS days, are a Whole Different story..lol)_
    Just one older bass player’s opinion who’s been there, before all the hype started with F & G. 👴🏻

      Part of me agrees. It’s mad to pay so much for a CBS bass but then the other part of me says this is one of the best sounding basses I have ever heard and i trust Andy not to sell a dog bass so I assume it plays well.
      Plus it’s that rooted to look at I assume it was always a player.
