The course & greens are in fantastic condition and the fairways are firming up
Mizuno ST-X Driver distance is around 230-240 yards at the moment & I am normally a consistent ball striker with a decent short game that helps me maintain my handicap index of 5.2 at my home club.
my strategy is fairways & greens & not taking on dangerous high risk shots using good COURSE MANAGEMENT to get the most out of my game.

I play with golfers whose expectations outweigh their ability. They tend to loose the plot and not enjoy the round. Golf is a game you never crack,every day is different. Just get out there and enjoy it the way you do. Cheers for a good video.

I'm so glad I found this channel. This is my experience of golf. Did the same thing myself just last week. Played my best round of +3, handicap cut to 8.3 then next round +17. It was like I'd never held a club before.

I generally struggle watching any course vlog that is over 20 minutes long. For this reason I love watching @Not A Scratch Golfer channel for quick relatable course vlog. With that being said this particular vlog was a pleasure to sit through and Liam is so great I may watch it again.
One of the reason I watch and enjoy.. always positive, enthusiastic and encouraging..a 7 handicapper hits bad shots.. who knew ha ha

This made me laugh for a number of reasons. I have played / hacked round this wonderful course a couple of times and couldn't recognise it from the video and I cracked up at 36.50 "do you think its left edge?" Brilliant. Subscribed intermediately
Had an similar experience today. Last time I played I had my best round. Today nothing worked. Guess days like these are when you're actually learning and improving. Just keep swinging!

Great video as always Liam, I turned up this morning to my golf club in New Mills, the course was in great condition but the rain was so heavy we had to go home after waiting for a while to see if it eased. Gutted as I was really looking forward to a round - can always rely on golf mates to cheer me up lol 😂

Totally agree with Don on repairing pitch marks, i played today and must have repaired at least two others on every green, Liam tell every one it only costs pence for a pitch mark repairer and seconds to do.

At our level it's a very fine line between a good score and bad score. It was a interesting watch Liam. But your spot on, keep smiling 😊😊

cracking video Liam, not only don't give up but just play each hole. Once it's done it's done, I try not to go out with a gross score in mind, just wanbt to play well. Some days you hit the ball well and nothing drops, bad bounces etc, other days you play army golf, and score well. It's not how, it's how many is so true.
You actually scrambled well in this round, had plenty of bunker practice :-) all out in 1, and putted well. My starting aim is not to 3 putt, if i can get it close then a single putt is on, that's where the dropping of gross score starts to be seen.

I am sure Lee and Mr Barlow(when he sees this) would have laughed at some of the golf you produced today but as you rightly say "good or bad" golf has to be fun and enjoyed whatever.. C,est la vie as the French say. I actually enjoyed this as it was not a course you play every week and looked quite difficult. There,s always anoth er day Liam.

I played with a guy the other day in a club comp. Some proper heads gone moments (shouting, thrashing the grass with his clubs, hitting the ground, pacing round the tee and swearing) from him and without making excuses for my own poor performance they had a negative effect on my game. I would seriously rather not play than play with him again and it ruined my Sunday. Remember no matter how badly you are playing think of the impact on those around you. I have been guilty of this in the past but reigned myself in when a mate had a word with me. Try to realise that no matter how poor I am playing it's still generally better than what I would be doing. I would rather double bogey a short par 3 than put up some shelves or go to Ikea on a Sunday.

Liam, I like to tell an old story here when my playing companions are suffering the way you are today. It's about an American that goes to Scotland to play the old course. The caddy he hires for the round has to listen to the American bluster and preen himself as to what a day he's about to have, bringing St. Andrews to its knees. Then on the first tee the braggart runs two shots into the burn and 3 putts the first. The 2nd hole he hits his tee shot into a pot bunker and takes 3 just to get it out. On and on through out the round, he pushes one right and the next left .. several go into the gorse and there doesn't seem to be a revetted bunker he hasn't visited. Always one excuse after another about his poor play, becoming more and more exasperated. Finally, by the 13th hole after another pot bunker swallows up his ball, the American, bellows out, " I swear if I hit one more bad shot, I'm running down to the sea, throw myself in, and drown myself!" His Scottish caddy, at this point, having suffered all he can take, says, "Aye man, bout you could'na keep your 'ead down long enough to do it!"

Had this kind of round today. And of course, last hole, par 5. Third shot 150 over water,downhill lie, woohoo, on the green. Then wouldnt ya know it..Birdie!

Honestly before I started watching your golfmates videos about 6 months ago I would've chucked the clubs in the water and walked off after the 3rd 🕳 the way I was playing and right to the 19th 🕳🤣 to drown my sorrows with a few cold 🍺 🤣🤣.
But yesterday I stuck it out ended up playing some the worst golf of my life 🤣 but stuck it out and had a great laugh with my golfmates so again thanks for what you've done helping change my mind set..Out again Tuesday so 🙏to the bigman that all the bad shots and lost balls are out my system and it's back to a good days 🏌️♂️🏌️♂️not just a good laugh 🤣🤣

I’m fortunate enough to live in the lakes, and played Carus in our society. We were the last group out and as I landed on the 18th tee, the lads were on the balcony having a few scoops so the pressure was bang on. I don’t think I’ve hit a ball thinner in my life. It was thinner than OJ’s defence. Anyway, it dambustered over the pond like a skimming stone and finished 5ft away from the pin. Heroic 3 dab bogey to finish 💪
Footnote: I’m a little bit devastated that your worst golf is better than my actual golf 😭
We all have these days Liam. Remember to always be positive as you were there. Your right so easy to pack in but I'm the same it only takes 1 good hole to change a round. Normally myself it doesn't work for everyone but I kick myself up the backside and it works and generally 1 hole gets me back but I've had dayswhere I'm expe Ted to shoot low 80s and I've shot 102 where you just can't find your swing, have no luck , can't make a putt , can't hit a fairway We sll have them we're all human but you keep commijg back because you know the next round is a new round the last round is the past the next round is a new slate and could be anything. As long as you keep going and fighting and don't pack in you can't ever fail
Nice one Liam, I shot 80 and 81 last weekend after having a lesson, hopefully there is another golf mates event soon so I can come up and get my fiver back off Mr B. quest to break 80 sting ongoing.
This is just how golf goes... Some days you can do no wrong but still can't score what you should, other days you scramble all day and score well... That is what keeps us coming back, isn't it. Cheers...

This is a classic case of playing badly but scoring well! I do this a lot, I drive the ball poorly, irons are all over the place and my short game generally gets me out of jail!

Inconsistently consistent or consistently inconsistent... that's golf for the majority - you choose which one is you. This is one of the most frustrating things about the game - 'yesterday' you nailed it .. 'today' you are spraying the ball all over the place (BTW.. splendid bunker to hole ratio :) ) If we could all consistently play our best golf we'd all be on tour. I also agree with the comment below about people getting really angry and throwing golf clubs or hitting the ground with them. The club is an inanimate object it neither hates you or feels your wrath, if you want to punish the responsible body then throw yourself in the water hazard or on the floor :) More seriously, that kind of response does not help. It ramps up adrenalin and I don't think that is what you need when playing golf.
