    Sounds sweet enough to make the gods weep and set dogs to dancing! You have rejuvenated one old phart's motivation to take up where he left off 20+ years ago and keep banging away at it until his fingertips scream. Thank you ever so much.

    Learnt this off you a few years ago. When busking it with my resonator guitar, I’ve paid for a few pairs of strings. It’s bought me many dinners. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

And I'd like to say the same to you and your loved ones to be safe and to take precautions in moving about. My daughter is staying at her mothers for a little while. I live in the province of quebec, canada. Everything is closed. I'm still working though. Paramedic. So on my days off got nothing to do, cant go anywhere so. Getting a lot of hours to practice....even started to paint again after soooo many years. Got one going but being oil I ll let sit a bit to dry before going back... Thanks again for this video cause it realy unblocked that thumb independance for me. I let you be. I'll go practice, practice and so more than paint...lol Be safe!!!

    @perfuzz Hi yep it was a Blackface 65 re issue. I use a Black Star 5 watt head for recording now and a Fender Tremolux for electric gigs. Most of the time it's acoustic gigs so I use an AER 60watt amp L.R.Baggs PARA d.i. or Fishman Aura depending on the venue. My main giging acoustic is a Maton 808TE. Hope you enjoyed the lessons.

    @kickassboyxx D-F-A is D minor, D-G-A is infact a D with a suspended fourth. DADGAD tuning can be used to create a G5 chord by fretting the second frett on the third string (G string)

      I will check around, the best thing to do is think of a song you would like to play and adapt it to the tuning. Work on getting the melody first don't worry about the other stuff, that comes later. :) Let me know if you think of a tune/song. :)

    Thanks for the vid. I just bought an inexpensive resonator and discovered Vestapol tuning within the last year, even though I had broken a lot of strings tuning to open E. The possibilities are infinite. I am learning some slide and am considering raising the bridge just a little to accommodate that. Thanks again. :-)

    @AcousticMax - I did enjoy it! I'm only just started out with open chord tuning. At the moment I'm sniffing the net for Elmore stuff.
    I've got an BF Twin Reverb with a AB763 circuit. A bit heavy, but the sound makes it worth while. Oh yes and a home brewed 5F6-a amp. This "Bassman" is perfect for slide guitar!

  • @maxmilligan8734
    @maxmilligan8734  15 лет назад

    Keep relaxing and repeating this for about a minute. This will gradually help to build the strength in the fingers to hold down the bar.
    If you are having to press down very hard you need to check the "action " on your guitar. That's the height of the strings above the frets. This can normally be put right at a good Music shop.

    Work on this in small sections and use it as a long term project. With the bar section, ensure your thumb is behind the guitar neck slightly below centre. Place the the index finger just behind the chosen fret, say 5th. Press down the index finger gently brush the string and see how many ring out. relax the hand and repeat gradually adding enough pressure to make the string ring out.

    Hi @melodel2 ,
    I don't the song at all, I learned this in 70's after hearing Stephan Grossman play it.

    Thank You For a very comprehensive lesson. Excelent. I do have problem with right hand,it is very difficult to coordinate ,it is like Only the tumb or Only index finger picking but never in a coordinated fashion. How do I practice for that?
