How you pronounce "oo" in English is written in Dutch like "oe". In the past people had to pay taxes which were decided by the size of the house, how bigger (wider) their house was how more they had to pay, so what they did is building it higher. Thanks foe your opinion. Hopefully we can come back one day and have a more local experience around the Netherlands. We did really love our time in Amsterdam and wanted to see as much as we could!
Actually it isn't popular at all, we Dutch do not like the place at all, It stinks, people are often rude, only speak their own hard to understand dialect, it is dangerous, it is full of tourists...
Amsterdam is very popular. It is a BEAUTIFULL city with loads of architecture and culture, thousands of shops restaurants and cafés, parks, canals, etc. etc. Only a small group of people from the rural provinces and other cities are envious of Amsterdam's succes with tourists.
I do like my hometown in Brabant, but I think Amsterdam is a great place. There is perhaps a bit overkill of tourism but the buildings, Amsterdam school, the punk history the graffiti era in the eighties, the local language. I Love it
Like you said, it's full of tourists and also house prices are sky high over there. So it's popular among tourists and citizens. By what metric is it not popular? It's the biggest city so it's also likely to have the most detractors. But by that logic Taylor swift isn't a popular artist because a bunch of republicans don't like her.
Yes it is. Very much indeed. Why hundreds of thousands of people want to move to Amsterdam. Yes, it is expensive. Just like every populair place. Amsterdam is already the biggest town. Why? Because they like it. 😂 The others are just jealous.

I recommend detroit, harlem, east philly south chicago, portland or baltimore. After this experience you will have a whole new outlook on Amsterdam. cheers.
Amsterdam is a tourist trap, especially the city centre. And even as a foreigner you should be able to tell it is. Everyone speaks English. In hoe many Dutch towns do you think English is the primary language? There is a place in Amsterdam where they sell stroopwafels for €15 per stroopwafel. How many Dutch people do you think would pay that? A couple of years ago I went there with school to visit some museums and a simple hot chocolate milk was €5. That is double the normal price for cafés! Sports clubs will proboubly charge only €1 or so, maybe €1,50 because of inflation. Stelletje afzetters daar!
Nee. Amsterdam is GEEN "tourist trap".
Was in Amsterdam with some foreign visitors last week and it was still pretty affordable tbh. Like 3-4€ for a fresh stroopwafel at Albert Cuyp and 3€ for a pack that would be about 2.30 in the supermarket. Drinks on terraces also weren't outrageously expensive, neither in De Pijp or the city center. But my guests did like Leiden more then Amsterdam.

"Gluten free".....says it all.....🤔
It’s not by choice it’s an allergy 😢
@@KeithandDev sorry, my bad...😟
next time someone tells you you cant eat in the park you tell them: oprotten met je gezeik
Thanks for letting us know but I am not sure we will use that harsh language :)
I don' t know why? Sex, ( Women are for sale) , white slavery, drugs, etc 😢If the tourists love canals, Brugge is beautiful! Saint Petersburg! Venice, Aveiro, etc😊
It really didn’t feel like that though, it was organized, clean, and people were respectful. Amsterdam’s is just so beautiful too, and yes Brugge! We will be posting a video of Brugge soon! 😊👍
You did most everything wrong, the fake cheese shops, tourist trap bulbs market, fries shops and alll!
Just get out of the centre and go to the realmarkets. Only the place you picked for Dutch winterfood at the end was ok.
You need to get out more. Any Us city, south or central america. If you live from the experience you will have a whole new appreciation.
We are sorry you feel that way. We did love the city and hope to see more of the country one day :)
amsterdam is not populair in the Nertherlands
fair enough. its very much still on our bucketlist to come back and see more of the Netherlands! :)
Yes it is. Very much indeed. Why hundreds of thousands of people want to move to Amsterdam. Yes, it is expensive. Just like every populair place. Amsterdam is already the biggest town. Why? Because they like it. 😂 The others are just jealous.
@@KeithandDevNote, people here on your vlog say that Amsterdam is not nice. They probably live in the country side or one of the other cities. I notice them on every vlog about Amsterdam. 😂 This guy as well. ❤
just a tourist city nothing more nothing less for a Dutch it's a place not to go ! Delft , Utrecht , Den-Haag , Giethoorn and even Zoetermeer are more fun !
You are forgetting Almere…😂
@@janjanssen9629 😂
Het is en blijft een prachtige stad. In sommige opzichten uniek. Als je dat niet ziet, jammer. Maar spreek voor jezelf. Het is jammer dat het wordt overlopen.
We do hope to see so much more of the Netherlands some day! We loved Amsterdam and know there is way more to the country. We just have to save up a bit so we can truly see it all 😊
I recommend detroit, harlem, east philly south chicago, portland or baltimore. After this experience you will have a whole new outlook on Amsterdam. cheers.
Amsterdam is not hot. Give real information.
Sorry we are not sure what you mean
@@KeithandDev Probably the metaphorical hot vs temperature hot. Sarcasm is a huge part of Amsterdam's culture.
Sick of A’dam and videos about it
We are sorry you feel that way
Amsterdam is a tourist trap, especially the city centre.
Lekker boos doen 😂😂
Nee. Amsterdam is GEEN "tourist trap".
Haha, Treinbouwer is such a typical conservative grumpy-provincial loser who can’t stand Amsterdam
