this is fantastic work, thank you so much! I should maybe do time stamps next time so people don’t have to themselves, that said is stellar though, thank you!
@@Dorkfox1998 you can always get earth from free online providers, just saying the little things we do, fat cat blue,a tiny urban zoo and ironically the 3 r’s are the highlights for me but the rest not so much.
“Verb” just slaps in the most blacktastic Isaac Hayes-ian way possible. You can’t not feel compelled to get off your a** and do something after hearing it.
The sad part is, Verb, that's what's happening is one of my least favorite songs in the whole entire library. The ones that I really liked was "Telegraph Line", "Victim Of Gravity", "Interjections" "Interplanet Janet", "A Noun is a person place or thing", "The Tale of Mr. Morton", "Tyrannosaurus Debt", "Figure 8", "Three-Ring Government/Circus", "The Check In The Mail", and "Counting By Fives" were my top favorites for years. Honorable mentions include "Lolly Lolly Lolly Get Your Adverbs Here", "Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla" "Unpack Your Adjectives", "Three Is A Magic Number" "$7.50 Once A Week", "Conjunction Junction, "Electricity, Electricity" "Shot Heard Round The World", "Tea Party", "Mother Necessity" "The Great American Melting Pot", "Elbow Room", "The Preamble", "I'm Just A Bill", "Greatest Show On Earth Weather", "Do The Circulation" "Body Machine", and "Zero My Hero" to name a few.
@@SuperFlashDriver Hey everybody has their favorites. The important thing is the content resonated with you which only benefitted you later in life. That’s what I love about SR, the material stays with you for a lifetime.
The Preamble might be a snooze fest of a song, but when I had to memorize the Preamble for school it was a godsend Edit: I’m so elated that Mr. Morton was so high on this list that I’m subscribing. Bravo, about time that song gets some love!
i’ve finally found someone who matches my brand of autism. i was literally famous in grade school for knowing all of grammar rock by heart. you’re a godsend, my friend. rock on!
Indeed, I too am autistic. I have allthe Schoolhouse Rock videos on my computer. They're great, and they taught me more in the Seventies than school ever did.
I have ADHD and I still remember many of the songs here, I sing them whenever I need the info(no joke, singing Ready or Not, Here I Come has helped my Five timestable and I still found myself singing the noun song when I needed a refresher). It really was the only way I could learn that sort of thing, even if I didn't remember them(here's to you Magic Number and Conjunction Junction).
-furry -trans -autistic -went to college to learn computer science -listens to They Might Be Giants -watches Vargskelethor Okay yeah everything checks out here
Hey I happen to love The Preamble. I can sing it from memory, and come on, it’s THE PREAMBLE TO THE G***AMN CONSTITUTION…. How else would any of us recite it by heart??
This, my mom was around when schoolhouse Rock was new, she actually passed a test about this because they were supposed to recite the preamble but she's like I can't recite it but I can sing it and she did 😎
@@summerlaverdure That’s awesome!! See?? That’s exactly the intended effect of setting the Preamble to music! While the intended audience was of course children, to this day if you asked me to recite it I’d do so by speaking it (while hearing the sung version in my head). It’s arguably one of the single most important statements defining the American democratic doctrine ….. and thanks to schoolhouse rock there are millions of us who still know every word of it.
They honestly should've known how badly it would've aged since the series was made in the 70's and the concept of Lebensraum was made public knowledge in the 30's...
I had never heard of this song and didn't know what it was about. When it's title card came up, I immediately started singing fake lyrics about the concepts of lebensraum in Jack's voice. "You see children, the Slavs aren't real white people, being descendants of the Mongols, and that means Moscow belongs to us!" Imagine my horror upon realizing that "Elbow Room" was basically the American version of what I was singing!
Its so cool! Not just because it teaches the concept well, but it also injects it with such a mystery and makes the big brain move of not even saying what it is by name to make kids uber curious! I love that song so much lol
This was something of a thing in math education in the 70s. They wanted kids to learn dozenal and hexadecimal to help them understand how numbers add together.
@@memesthatmakeyouwannadie3133 Makes sense. Back then they still used slide rules to calculate numbers, too. I don't remember coming across one, but Dad talked about how he used to use them.
YES. I'm SO glad Interplanet Janet ranked so high, I never hear anyone talk about it. Mr. Morton is way up there too. Dollars and Sense and Conjunction Junction are the ones I really felt like you did dirty. Shoutout to Busy Prepositions and Three is a Magic Number for the "I still recite parts to this day when I need to remember something" distinction, and curses on Send Your Vote to College for teaching me to pronounce "electoral" wrong and not much else.
27:38 The running gag where you obey Jacks commands got me every single time. "Yes Jack! Right away Jack!" Also the fake out at 1:36:57. What a way to end the gag.
My absolute favorite part of "Interplanet Janet" which elevates it to a god-tier song for me is the way the second chorus slides in and sneaks up with perfect flow. "It's a bird! It's a plane! Why, it must be a UFO!" "But it was Interplanet Janet, she's a galaxy girl"...it's so slick and surprising and satisfying how the chorus returns right there in that way. "Naughty Number Nine" stunned me with how incredible of a song it was after I was bored by it as a child. Revisiting it, it became one of my all-time favorites. The sleazy noir atmosphere, the villainous concept...and it pairs great with "The Good Eleven" right after, a song talking about how nice and easy that number is! I definitely agree with the top two of Science Rock here as well as the best America Rock song. I think my other top Multiplication song could be, instead of "Ready or Not, Here I Come", "Figure Eight", "My Hero Zero", or "Three is a Magic Number"...but the math songs sans "Nine" aren't my tops overall.
1:12:37 The day I found out that Bob Dorough had died, I had my iPod on shuffle. Once I read the news that he had passed my iPod, like, in some cosmic way, sensed exactly what I needed to hear at that exact moment and this song came on. The ending to this song just felt like Bob Dorough talking directly to the listener, me, telling me that even though he is gone he will always be right there. “Man, this stuff is simple, no jive! You got it, and I gotta fly Excuse me folks, I'm sayin' goodbye I sure do thank you for the huckleberry pie Take it home, boys! Remember, Lucky Seven Sampson, that's my natural-born name If you should ask me again, I'd have to tell you the same You wake up tomorrow, you'll be glad that I came 'Cause you'll be singin' one of the songs that I sang So keep a happy outlook and be good to your friend And maybe I'll pass this way again!”
This hit me like a truck, moments like that where everything lines up and you hear exactly what you need in the given moment, that is so bittersweet and amazing, god what a treasure he was
Wait What iPod did Bob pass you on??? Or do you mean "The day Bob died and my iPod just so happen to have songs in my MP3 music player it gave me feelings of a time when he made great music, it lifts my mood soo much." type of feeling???.....Oh, I see the bottom lyrics now...I see.....Yeah, for many years, I didn't keep track of what happened to those gentlemen, and even the Wikis don't have a page or some articles dedicated to these men who made School House Rock, which is very criminal since at least someone out there has to document who the heck these people are. Heck, even the person who created the series DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A WIKIPEDIA PAGE!!!....What the freak SHR/Disney!?!? You couldn't bother to mention or leave articles about the gentlemen who made schoolhouse rock not only enjoyable for Baby boomers and Gen Xers, but also Millennials and early Gen Zers as well??? C'mon ABC that's just disgraceful of what you have done to the men that created iconic or well remembered songs for many to be educated on...
Had an assignment in highschool to memorize the Preamble, and was so smug that I already knew it because of the song while my classmates stressed about it. I will always like it because I legit learned something that helped me later haha
I love how high Mr. Morton is on this list, as a kid I always thought it felt so strangely melancholy, and even after I had seen it before, I was always worried he wouldn't get his happy ending. Lucky Seven Samson will probably always be my favorite from Multiplication Rock just because of that rabbit, I remember getting really excited when a teacher pulled it up in class, years after I had binged the DVD as a kid, and nobody else knew what the hell School House Rock was, or why I was so hype for an educational video. I'll also defend The Preamble a little, in the same way that you mention that you always use the Fives Table in Ready or Not, I will permanently have the Preamble in my head because of that song. I was singing it at warp speed in my head during those civics quizzes in school.
Holy Crap, someone who made the connection Mr Chips Hardware song and the Chomp and Munch song from the Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue. It's such a niche thing to even get and I'm surprised it was even mentioned
I’m so glad someone else knows about it! yeah that movie has its little flaws but it also has its shining moments and I thought that was one to make a little connection with! i’m so glad it payed off lol
I was born in 1970 and the English language songs hit hard in my developing young brain. I was reading by age four and could find my way around a sentence structure in Kindergarten. I have those songs in my personal top 5.
This video homestly gor me into these songs recently. I had remembered the really well inown ones but now every now and then i listen to some of these songs, usually the most listenable ones and almost all of multiplication, thank you for helping me get into some admittedly awesome old 70s educational classics Also if you put your face in lucky sampsons feet woukd it give you good luck or-
@Dorkfox1998 I'm gonna be 100% real and say even though that's a joke I actually grew a crush on this random obscure ass rabbit guy and his funny way of talking about huckleberry pie from this video-
@Dorkfox1998 also it feels criminal that you didn't mention that BIZ MARKIE of all people did a song for that school house Rock cover album thing, put some respect of the clown prince of rap lol
I remember there was a collection of the "Top 25 Schoolhouse Rock Songs" or something similar, and Verb placed at a mere 24th. If that was put to a public vote, no wonder there's been an increase in people doubting democracy.
Great video! But tbh I think you did Telegraph Line pretty dirty. It's super catchy, I absolutely love its chorus and the telegram line representing the nervous system is an inspired creative choice. I might be biased though, after not hearing it for like years (making me believe I've never heard it before) I checked it out bc of this video and it like unlocked a ton of nostalgia in my brain. Also I'm thinking of making a video on Schoolhouse Rock Earth, since it was the set of songs I watched the most as a kid (thanks to Netflix), and I don't think anyone else is gonna cover it
45:46 "No wonder I'm trans, I didn't want to become a speck." There's chai latte on my keyboard now, I hope you're happy, both sarcastically and non sarcastically, sis. Also those "yes Jack, right away Jack" segments geuinely made me smile. Lastly for me the twelve song was my "I'm afraid of eight song", although I can probably chalk that up to the same reason why the Emperor's New Groove secret lab scene freaked me out; Aspergers. Serious freaked me out as a kid, was to funky and bizarre for me to comprehend.
The songs from Schoolhouse Rock Earth are actually on RUclips, albeit via an album release. I listened a bit to the first song (Report from the North Pole) and immediately stopped listening. There's barely any nice rhythm to the track and the lyrics seem very all over the place. Like it feels less like a fun way to teach kids and more like a poorly made lecture.
@@kiartoons2010 I will say that A Tiny Urban Zoo is the one song from the collection that I think is actually pretty good. I'd recommend checking that one out.
Started listening to it and yeah, it slaps. Feels a bit more like a song from a musical and less like Schoolhouse Rock, but comparing it to the stuff around it, it's incredible.
Started listening to The Little Things We Do and I can say it's a solid track. I feel like if more work was put into it and maybe if they got some decent sounding voice actors for the main parts (because hearing Jack and Bob is cool but this thing came out in 2009, just let them rest), it might have been a great way to end the series. As is, it's just meh.
1:09:52 goes HARD! I’d never heard that song before but those lines deserves some kind of revival in modern media. It feels like it’s straight out of a musical. Wow! Also, something about it felt oddly ‘Don’t hug me I’m scared’-esque. Like right before EVERYTHING goes berserk.
And then the sudden calmness, like you are just tensing up, waiting for the bad to come in with what he's about to say next, only for the calm to pop in and catch you off guard, so good.
Totally agree with your thoughts on Shot Heard Round the World! Best chorus in a Schoolhouse Rock song hands down! It’s always been my favorite ever since I first heard it when I was like 5. And I’m also not someone who’s particularly patriotic, it’s just such a banger of a song!
@@Dorkfox1998 I have known multiple people who told me that was a formative childhood image to foreshadow a "giant lady steps on me" kink. Someday I wanna be like Roald Dahl or Carlo Collodi, and just invent a scenario that becomes a specific kink format once the people who read it grow up. My clients ask for so many donkeys and blueberries under those exact circumstances.
I mean, considering his character has both feminine and masculine features, I'm not shocked he/she is a transgender person. But either way, i did like how he ranked the songs from worst to best.
i was mostly raised on the og schoolhouse rock vhs tapes my mom had and you are so right with most of the multiplication rock songs are the best, along with the grammar ones. its such a time capsule and i truly wish that some musical show would recreate the love and care, and such repetitive melodies and clever AND knowledgeable lyrics but i feel like its feeling that really never be recreated in this generation. this is one of my most cherished childhood shows that actually taught me something i still remember to this day and sing along to. and you know personally i think the The American melting pot makes me the most patriotic cause it reminds me of the original purpose and draw of America, this great place of opportunity that was just born of rebellion from the king, and cultures being depicted as their recipes and stories was such a great visual. Thank you for reminding us of this wonderful show
Just watched through the whole vid and....omg I gotta info dump here Okay so.....I have such a soft spot for Schoolhouse Rock and this mainly stemmed from back when I was in 2nd grade. Each day, there would be a part of the day where my teacher would put Schoolhouse Rock on the big board in class and me and the other kids would sit in front of it and we would watch a few songs (sometimes she'd let us come up and pick a song from the playlist to play too). This would quickly become my favorite part of the school day!! I liked these songs so much that one day during a conference with my mom and teacher, my teacher decided to gift me 3 VHS tapes of the Schoolhouse Rock songs (I think they were Grammar rock, Science rock, and America rock I think? My memory is a little hazy on which exact ones I got but it was so great!) Revisiting the songs through this video reminded me of the silly moments with the other kids in class when watching them. Like pretty much everyone in class starts singing when "Lolly Lolly Lolly, Get your Adverbs here" starts playing, they would even start singing along to the "Elias will you help me with my seeeewing?" part from Mother Necessity too lol, and when "Elementary, my dear" was on for the first time and got to the "Now what's 2 x 98?" part, I remember we all in unison went "aww that's hard!" with the kid in the song to name a few. 😭 But yeah this video was such a delight to watch! I'm glad this popped up in my recommended feed. Just gave a sub and I look forward to seeing what other stuff you'll post someday! (So so sorry for the sudden long infodump on this topic btw haha Schoolhouse Rock just left a big impact on me growing up, and it was just great to listen to the songs again and listen to someone who also grew up with it talking about is just very great! Idk how to word my thoughts but it made my autistic brain go brrr) Also, since it was the song that introduced me to this wonderful series, I think it just feels right to put Ready or Not as the #1 spot. 👍
This is so sweet! No need to apologize for info dumping I adore when people do that! This all paints such a vivid picture of what school felt like back in the day, that sounds so fun! I'm so happy to have ya here and I am glad that you liked the video! School House Rock is just one of those magical things that stick in your head years upon years later, and I am glad you agree with the number one spot! hehe
Absolutely adored this video, I love the way you described every song, even the ones you ranked lower you had so much respect for and it really shines through how much this music means to you. Also loved the little intro bits to each section, especially the tmbg ones. Covered my mouth in shock when I heard she’s an angel and hide away folk family (hide away folk family is my number one favorite tmbg song, and I rarely hear or see it get talked about even in the tmbg community, and the jumpscare I got when I heard it an hour and 40 minutes in to the video shocked me 😭)
Seeing Preamble at the bottom was a shock. I LOVE Preamble and still find myself singing it to myself at least once a year when it gets stuck in my head.
This may be unpopular, but Lolly Lolly has the two best pieces of rhythm. “So you see, that is positively very, very, necessary.” “How, where, or when. Condition or reason, these questions are answered when you use an adverb. Come and get it!”
Glad to know I wasn’t the only one almost afraid to listen to figure 8 as a kid. For real that song legit terrified me, now I just think it’s an absolute banger.
awesome to see some love for little twelvetoes! it was always my favourite as a kid for its freaky atmosphere that isn't really paralleled by any other schoolhouse rock segment. also, finally tax man max gets some respect. i understand you completely
i can’t believe other people care as much about schoolhouse rock as i do. this video was incredible and i could listen to you talk about these songs forever! awesome list!! although i am very much a telegraph line defender
1:31:26 Fun fact: This line became wrong the year the song came out, because Pluto’s orbit is lopsided and crosses over with Neptune’s, and it was actually closer to the sun than Neptune within that year.
"The Preamble" was a song I had to memorize in 7th grade for a test. To this day, I still remember it and will sing it on occassion. Just goes to show that good, catchy tunes from a cartoon that you grow up with really goes a long way. 😊
I kept getting reminded of the SchoolHouse Rock! RUclips Poop Collab while watching this lmao "I'm JuSt A bIlL- NYE THE SUS GUY!" "Moon goes 'round the Earth, Moon goes 'round the Earth, Moon goes 'round the Earth- *keeps getting faster* " "ConJuJion Fuckshit, what's your f/u/ckin' function?!?!?!" "One British Guyyy said: 'Ho ho ho,' and some malicious American said: 'I don't believe in Santa Claus!'" "Threeee.... is a magic number-- 'No it's not!' --yes it is." Absolute classic YTP collab, as short as it was
I can't agree more about Hardware. People say Scooter Computer and Mr. Chips is outdated, but I find Hardware to be bizarrely prescient. I would always think of the song in my CS courses when I made a dumb coding mistake and my computer dutifully carried out my stupid orders. Honestly, with the current innovations in "ai", there are plenty of adults today who could stand to take its message to heart.
I have really fond memories of School House Rock as a kid growing up in the early 2000s. We still had those chunky tv sets on the rolling carts, which seemed old even when I was in elementary school. Thanks for the nostalgia trip, and great video!
PLUTO'S STILL A PLANET AND I WILL ARGUE THIS UNTIL I DIE FOR SOME REASON EDIT: My favorite's Little Twelvetoes, by a mile. I was fixin' to riot if it wasn't in the top 10.
Thank you so much for the turn out! y’all are amazing, there are officially more comments than I can respond to at one time, I could not be more thrilled, thank you so much!
The Tale of Mister Morton is very personal to me, as when I was little I had all the grammar rock songs on a VHS tape, and that one was the last song on there. Everytime I would listen to that song, it makes me feel emotional and I nearly cry towards the end. It's my personal favorite Schoolhouse Rock song
Being a gay autistic furry dude who's watched Schoolhouse Rock since age 5, I have rewatched this about 10 times now and it's quickly become my comfort watch. Binged the entire SH canon on acid once and it changed me - the Hardware song legit almost gave me a panic attack. Would recommend.
My mom grew up on this, and so did I by proxy. we can both recite like of half these I never thought I would get an hour long video of this hidden gem.
What a fun little video! Saw this recommended to me via RUclips. As someone who also struggles with a learning disability I can relate to your enjoyment with these songs. That and my parents showing me
The way I was emphatically dancing and mouthing along to each clip from the songs you played, Schoolhouse Rock was SUCH an important part of my childhood and I’m so happy this video exists
Did not expect to find a ranking of Schoolhouse Rock songs made by a fellow trans furry and one with a shockingly low subscriber count in my recommendations but I'm absolutely here for it, heck yeah niche content
I'll admit, most of these were new to me (i held onto the song about three, that's why it's my favorite number) but you've inspired me to try and listen to my favorites again. have a great day!
Shot heard round the world, figure 8, naughty number nine, and inter-planet Janet all above conjunction junction? Please and thank you! Not even at number one yet and I love this list.
Omg the nostalgia! I also had that dvd as a kid and still use those multiplication songs when i need to do mental math. Also thanks for reminding me how wholesome the Mr. Morton song was. I loved it as a kid and am happy to see it so high!
Real talk: that Rock covers album, the last song Shannon Hoon ever recorded was a truly heartbreaking Blind Melon cover of "Three Is A Magic Number." It fits so wonderfully.
I remember it coming out right before the box set of the originals, so this was the only quick fix of these tunes on cd for my 11 year old brain. It changed me.
I am so glad this popped up in my recommendations, there's so much love in this about something I also grew up with. And not just that, but the jokes and gags are top notch! I'd love to see you do more ranking videos sometime in the future.
1) I love the references in between ratings. Wrestling, TF2, TMBG. Flans yelling *ESTROGEN* caught me SO off guard, it’s perfect 2) You genuinely sound so passionate and opinionated about this stuff and it MAKES the video. This is some primo shit. 3) you’re funny as hell and i love the way you inflect and word things it’s genuinely so good
the flute stuff you like in adjectives? may i recommend the band "the holy mackerel" (a 60s band featuring paul williams, aka that guy who cowrote THE RAINBOW CONNECTION!!!)
I find it sad that most of if not all the writers and singers in these albums are dead because I really think they could make drivers Ed rock and it would somehow work, yeah it’d be the first ever pg13 schoolhouse rock but I’d watch and listen to it.
wait that is an amazing idea, I have always wanted adult schoolhouse rock to be a thing and drivers ed rock would be so fun! also god yeah rest in peace
High School House Rock would genuinely bang so hard. I would work on it if I was invited to, I don't care what creative role it would need of me. I will voice act Mr. Chips' canonical/fanonical daughter if I have to. I will make character designs personifying graph functions or advanced subtextual context clues if I have to. If I had to write a world history song I would gladly do so no matter what country the topic comes from. I MUST CARRY THE LEGACY AS LONG AS I'M CREDITED TO BE A PART OF ITS CONTINUATION
I love schoolhouse rock! My granny had me watch it when I got home from school almost everyday. Especially if there was a subject I wasn’t good at. She had the full DVD and then some. Multiplication Rock was my favorite (and still is). I’m so glad I found stumbled upon a video like this, and a small channel too? This is a lot of dedication. I hope you grow like you deserve!

Same here. Also had to memorize the end part of Fireworks for that too. We had America rock playing through the house for almost a week
I used to write the Preamble on the back of my middle school history tests using that song to hopefully get extra credit. It never worked lol.
I love Mr. Morton because it's kind of a love story. I can never stop listening to it once I start.
i’ve finally found someone who matches my brand of autism. i was literally famous in grade school for knowing all of grammar rock by heart. you’re a godsend, my friend.
Hey I happen to love The Preamble. I can sing it from memory, and come on, it’s THE PREAMBLE TO THE G***AMN CONSTITUTION…. How else would any of us recite it by heart??
hey fair dues! even my least favorite Schoolhouse Rock song has some great aspects to it, just the magic of the project!
@@Dorkfox1998 It's kind of insane how they managed to make so many bangers and even their worst song is still mostly just "not as good"
This, my mom was around when schoolhouse Rock was new, she actually passed a test about this because they were supposed to recite the preamble but she's like I can't recite it but I can sing it and she did 😎
@@summerlaverdure That’s awesome!!
Not my favorite but it deserved way better.
"Elbow Room"
The fact that my brain immediately made a connection between this name and "lebensraum" says everything about how terribly its aged...
"You see children, the Slavs aren't real white people, being descendants of the Mongols, and that means Moscow belongs to us!"
Imagine my horror upon realizing that "Elbow Room" was basically the American version of what I was singing!
The stock market song is the only understanding i had of my dads job as a child. And my knowledge now hasn’t increased much
55:16 having a crush on a characters voice is an explanation i never knew but it makes so much sense to use.
I was in School House Rock Junior as a kid at my local theater and I sang the noun song, and I remember feeling so cool because of it lol
One thing I like about LIttle Twelvetoes is that it inadvertently teaches kids the concept of base numbers, in this case base-12.
Its so cool! Not just because it teaches the concept well, but it also injects it with such a mystery and makes the big brain move of not even saying what it is by name to make kids uber curious! I love that song so much lol
In America, 1 foot is literally 12 inches, whereas in Europe they go on the basis of 10 millimeters being 1 meter, or something like that.
"Yes Jack! Right away Jack!"
Also the fake out at 1:36:57. What a way to end the gag.
Perfect bookends too, as it started and ended with the 90s Grammar Rock cartoons.
9 pairs great with 11

The day I found out that Bob Dorough had died, I had my iPod on shuffle.
You got it, and I gotta fly
Excuse me folks, I'm sayin' goodbye
I sure do thank you for the huckleberry pie
Take it home, boys!
Remember, Lucky Seven Sampson, that's my natural-born name
If you should ask me again, I'd have to tell you the same
You wake up tomorrow, you'll be glad that I came
'Cause you'll be singin' one of the songs that I sang
So keep a happy outlook and be good to your friend
And maybe I'll pass this way again!”
I had the same with a lot of other things, including health information that actually works out lmao
There arent many videos id actually describe as "cozy" but this is one of them
I love how high Mr.

As someone who actually has seen Earth Rock... trust me, you're not missing much.
Oh gosh completely! That same sort of rising tension of "oh my god what is about to happen"
And then the sudden calmness, like you are just tensing up, waiting for the bad to come in with what he's about to say next, only for the calm to pop in and catch you off guard, so good.
Just realizing how much this one owes to “higitus figitus” from Disney’s sword in the goddamn stone
Totally agree with your thoughts on Shot Heard Round the World! Best chorus in a Schoolhouse Rock song hands down! It’s always been my favorite ever since I first heard it when I was like 5. And I’m also not someone who’s particularly patriotic, it’s just such a banger of a song!

i was mostly raised on the og schoolhouse rock vhs tapes my mom had and you are so right with most of the multiplication rock songs are the best, along with the grammar ones. its such a time capsule and i truly wish that some musical show would recreate the love and care, and such repetitive melodies and clever AND knowledgeable lyrics but i feel like its feeling that really never be recreated in this generation. this is one of my most cherished childhood shows that actually taught me something i still remember to this day and sing along to. and you know personally i think the The American melting pot makes me the most patriotic cause it reminds me of the original purpose and draw of America, this great place of opportunity that was just born of rebellion from the king, and cultures being depicted as their recipes and stories was such a great visual. Thank you for reminding us of this wonderful show
Just watched through the whole vid and....omg I gotta info dump here
Okay so.....I have such a soft spot for Schoolhouse Rock and this mainly stemmed from back when I was in 2nd grade. My memory is a little hazy on which exact ones I got but it was so great!)
Revisiting the songs through this video reminded me of the silly moments with the other kids in class when watching them. 😭
But yeah this video was such a delight to watch! I'm glad this popped up in my recommended feed. Just gave a sub and I look forward to seeing what other stuff you'll post someday! (So so sorry for the sudden long infodump on this topic btw haha
Schoolhouse Rock just left a big impact on me growing up, and it was just great to listen to the songs again and listen to someone who also grew up with it talking about is just very great! Idk how to word my thoughts but it made my autistic brain go brrr)
Also, since it was the song that introduced me to this wonderful series, I think it just feels right to put Ready or Not as the #1 spot. 👍
This is so sweet! No need to apologize for info dumping I adore when people do that! This all paints such a vivid picture of what school felt like back in the day, that sounds so fun! Absolutely adored this video, I love the way you described every song, even the ones you ranked lower you had so much respect for and it really shines through how much this music means to you. I was 100% waiting for where Mr. Morton would land on your list, and I’m happy to see it in 3rd. A very good and cute song.
Omg, this video and the rest of your stuff is right up my alley. I love your presentation and sense of humor! Can't wait for whatever comes next ✨️
Well I wasn't expecting to go through a big nostalga trip today, but as soon as I heard This for That, I'm here for them all.
god right? school house rock sends you way back if you listened to it in the past
I'll admit, most of these were new to me (i held onto the song about three, that's why it's my favorite number) but you've inspired me to try and listen to my favorites again. have a great day!
I'm so glad I inspired you to check em out again! thank you so much for watching
Unpack Your Adjectives was always my favorite song, I always got really happy when I saw it on my VHS as a child.
I loved it as a kid and am happy to see it so high!
whenever i hear Mr. Chips' voice, i immediately think of C-3PO
That makes total sense, that sort of "should be annoying but is pretty pleasant" vibe
the preamble song helped me learn it and i still remember the whole thing till this day
Figure Eight is such a calming song. My favorite by far. Makes he always feel so warm.
THE SONG ABOUT AMERICA SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE FIRST PLACE!!!! USA USA USA!!! RAGHHHHHH
🦅🦅🦅🔥🔥🔥
/j
The biggest question is, WHICH song about funny america?
@@Dorkfox1998 ALL OF THEM!!!
@@epicvirgin6444 AAAAAAAH! BARBECUE
A question on Jeopardy on Sept. 9, 2024, asked about the planet with the unusual tilt. I immediately thought of Interplanet Janet and knew the answer.
Real talk: that Rock covers album, the last song Shannon Hoon ever recorded was a truly heartbreaking Blind Melon cover of "Three Is A Magic Number." It fits so wonderfully.
Woah, everything I hear about this cover album makes me more and more curious about it
@@Dorkfox1998Between that and the Carpenters cover album where Sonic Youth sang "Superstar," it was a very good time for covers albums.
@@Dorkfox1998 that, and the Daniel Johnston cover of "Adjectives" is just good-times all around.
I'd love to see you do more ranking videos sometime in the future.
aaaa thank you so much! I definitely plan on doing so, I have many things I am fixated on lol
never in my life would i have thought someone would rank every schoolhouse rock song 😭 props to you man
20:49 SCHOOL HOUSE PROG ROCK
when i saw tax man max on my goddamn screen i audibly cheered thank you so much for making this video i needed this right now
1) I love the references in between ratings. Wrestling, TF2, TMBG. Flans yelling *ESTROGEN* caught me SO off guard, it’s perfect
2) You genuinely sound so passionate and opinionated about this stuff and it MAKES the video.
I will absolutely check them out!
I MUST CARRY THE LEGACY AS LONG AS I'M CREDITED TO BE A PART OF ITS CONTINUATION
i have to flex - luther rix is my uncle!! great singer and a stellar drummer too!! i get to see him every christmas :3
