Could you comment on the fit of the bag? Cumulus say that the width of Panyam is 80cm while Lite Line and X-Lite are 77cm. Do you feel that Panyam has too much room, since it takes more thermal energy of you body to warm up the extra air?
That obviously depends a lot on one's person body type, I'm on the slim side, I would probably fit in a much smaller bag. To be honest I prefer the bag being a bit roomy than really tight because it's easier to twist and turn inside it and it would make me feel claustrophobic. Based on my body built personally I dont think 3cm would make a whole difference. The first bag I bought from Cumulus was 85cm, then I bought the original Quilt 450 that is a whole different game, then the Panyam 450. To be honest the 85cm seemed a bit comfier but is was a very big bag for pretty low temperature with lots of down, I think it felt more comfortable due to the amount and fluffiness of the down.
You can always customise the width of the bag by contacting Cumulus of through their DIY building page: cumulus.equipment/eu_en/wizard/advanced/product/id/56/
@@DavideTravelli Thanks for the quick answer! I ordered a Panyam for my girlfriend yesterday. I believe her body size is close to yours so I was a bit worried if the Panyam is too big and was second guessing my choice between the Panyam 450 and an overstuffed Lite Line 400. It's nice to know that you feel that the Panyam fits you well!
Great stuff Davide, have you ever posted on reddit ? They have a bicycle touring section "r/bicycletouring ". I think a lot of people there would appreciate your work.

It always depending on the temperature, if you have an appropriate sleeping pad and if you’re cold or warm sleeper. You’re the one able to assess all those factors.
Hi, If i Diy Lite Line 400 & Panyam 450 into same fabric, zip length, down weight and everything the same, the only difference they have is just design right? Since they are both 850FP
@@DavideTravelli Have you tried on Lite Line400? Would you say if every else being the same, Panyam interior is slightly bigger with more useful designs? I eliminated X Lite because of the outer fabric and designs
Ciao Suneel! I always use a liner to help keep the bag clean and/or warmer. I really like seatosummit liners - they are ridiculously expensive but they feel so good. I have a silk one but used thermareactor as well. Recently I camped with the cheaper silk line from Dechatlon (I used it for the Americas - 2 of them one I worn out. Then starting Africa I got the seatosummit one) and I quickly remembered why I upgraded to a product that is twice the price. The stretching side panels are adding so much comfort especially if you twist and turn during the night.
Davide Travelli it 4 years old montbell down jackets only weight 4.7 oz really keeps me warm it apart of my winter seatup .. i left i compress for 12 months i just treated it with down wash as was as good a new
@@DavideTravelli yes, this reminds me a bit of the year 2000 when we got into the euro. Everything became more expensive (at least in Spain) and just stayed there.

What would be your advice on using this sleeping bag in deep Winter in England with lots of layering?

I would guess so, you can also check with Cumulus directly just drop them an email, they usually respond pretty quickly!

I haven’t tried the Lite line. I wouldn’t want to comment on something I don’t have experience with. I think it’s more tight.
Also note that temperature ratings are different
Hi Davide..just wondering..do you ever use a cotton/silk liner inside the sleeping bag?

Did you use nikwax products for washing??
Davide Travelli no they useless used other brand i check what it was
To think that this bag is now 350 euros and not 275... Yikes.
Things are not getting any cheaper...

Yeah there is a big inflation happening. I see prices at the supermarket going up (or packages shrinking) 🤷♂️
