That was different and interesting to watch. My driving style, treat everything as a potential hazard and expect the unexpected. Anticipation is key without becoming over cautious.
Hadn't realised Folkestone had so many one-way zones and don't take one-way for granted, cyclists, scooter riders and errant drivers are amongst us.

Thank you for sharing this, I am in my 80's and still consider myself a capable driver though I accept my reactions are not as instant as they were but I remain serious incident free since 1960. I drive the way you do and often find myself talking away if I don't have a passenger ☺.
If only people would make driving their priority when in the car and everything else secondary we would have much safer roads.
I find watching for feet behind parked cars, especially kids running out and also 'think bike' so as not to be distracted by larger vehicles is a good thing too.
This is a great video, awareness assistance is hugely beneficial to us all.

Given that most drivers nowadays seem to be looking at their phones at every single available opportunity - even at traffic lights, in spite of the change in the law - then I would guess things like observation and hazard perception are going to take a plunge. I was reading that, in the US, phone-use-related accidents figured on 660,000 insurance claims last year. People using phones whilst driving should be instantly disqualified for 12 months, then have to take their driving test again - none of this namby-pamby six points and a fine.

I like the sound of that. It might be a better deterrent. I still see so many people on their phones.

I don’t know anything about car radios. It would be boring because of my lack of knowledge 🤣

Once you’re more aware of it, it came become frustrating and annoying. Oh yeah those that pull out instead of waiting for you to pass, then once pulled out, proceed to drive slower than you were going. Grrr and rarrrr!

Pulling out of a junction as you approach is annoying and has become a frequent problem with me also, best to make it a non event we're better drivers than the idiot pulling out of the junction.
