Will you make a channel that is only Vegas? On and near the strip. We had been watching for years, but aren't interested in trips and the SoCal scene. Seems most are, but you've lost our interest. We liked it spaghetti & meatballs, fried chicken & mashed taters around the strip. Also Asian and Latin off the strip. Just have a channel "best of actual all you can Vegas."
@@rockywooton2614 They live in LA now. So I doubt that will happen. Unless they occasionally decide to hit l-15, and do a road trip from time to time.
Try Heritage bbq in Dan Juan Capistrano, the Smoke Queen in Garden Grove and the Smoking Rib in Garden Grove
@rockywooton2614 ALSO for those of us in Vegas a trip to LA is a regular occurrence, so we’re curious about the food there
.
This bbq adventure was like watching a tragic comedy. You could almost feel the disappointment in your faces. Shake Shack to the rescue. 🍔🍟
I fell off my chair laughing when the food arrives and there were only 2 thin slice of brisket.
It blows me away the prices of everything today. I totally agree with ya'll on the rankings. When Derek got a scoop of white rice I was like "Nooooooo" it's by the pound. I know it was mall court food, but none of it was impressive until those burgers. I can remember 25 years ago Burger King would have 99 cent whoppers and McDonalds would counter with $1.00 Big Macs. Gosh how I miss those days. Great video.
Dang, you old like me. Are you old enough to remember 5 cent hamburgers and 10 cent cheeseburgers on Tuesday’s (?) at Mickey D’s ?
Sign of the times. More and more small eatery's are cutting hours or closing completely in CA. Cost of doing business and hourly wage hike is just too much.
and even with 20 per hour it is very little in a place like LA or miami need to make closer to 30 to afford most apts in these areas with studios being around $2000 nowadays
So glad to see you again!!!
What happened to the 2 of you used to go to IN restaurants in Las Vegas? Only the top. Now you're going to the bottom of the barrel.
Invest in an old smoker someone is getting rid of and make your own. That beats paying 40 bucks a shot in some food mall.
Nice of them to include some brisket in that pickled veggies and condiments platter lol. Thanks for doing what y’all do and taking us along!
😅😅😅😅😅
Welcome back guys.. road trip eating is the best.
That brisket looked disappointing. No brisket should ever need sauce.
Some people like it with sauce
@@swag94556 Good and properly smoked brisket doesn't need sauce.
@@PhyuckYew each to they own
Don't look that good..
Doesn't 😮
Very spendy for what you got. It’s a mall food court. You’re not going to get Texas Bbq - but you’re paying Texas prices. I’d pass
I've not eaten at a BBQ place in DFW since 2004. The prices were too high even then. Now I smoke my own brisket and ribs.
For paying almost $40 at Slab, that did not look like a lot of food and that was without any sides too. I would be going thru the drive thru at BK or some other place on my way home.
Right!
You two have parlayed your flair for buffet banter into food hall hijinks!
That lil bit for 40 bucks 😢
I thought I would not watch not being in Vegas, but I am back. Still very entertaining...
The whole place looks like a Moroccan vacation resort out of season. A lot of places locked up, hardly any people….looks depressing
So sad to see those places closed. The economy is the worst it's been in decades and people can't afford to eat out.
Finally a new video
You guys don’t seem impressed at all. Guess don’t believe the hype!
I'm so happy to see you guys I've missed your videos thank you
Just from looks alone, that is a sad BBQ platter
Watching from the UK 🇬🇧... why do you cut your food...then transfer it to another hand to eat it?.... have you ever used a knife and fork before?.. I genuinely don't know? And I don't understand.
Just another difference between Brits & Americans. We could ask you the same thing. It all makes it to the same place...your mouth. Viva La Difference! 😁
If they aren’t lined up for your bbq, it’s probably not very good!
at the end of the day mall food will always be mall food
I don’t know what you are filming with, or how you were filming, but it made me dizzy. Just horrible.
Nice to see yo back brotha. Seems expensive for what you get.......
No sides?
Next time try Dr. Hogley Wogley Tyler Texas Bbq in Panorama City.
What a rip off.
If in LA, definitely need to try Moo's Craft BBQ, Ray's BBQ, Bludso's BBQ
+1 for Bludsoe's!
They're ARE BACK !!!
$40 for a small tray of Bbq, rip off
It seems Slab ain’t it. That is 100% embarrassing. That’s BBQ?
😂 Derek is an OG!!! He has Catherine opening the door for him. Lmao 💯
So, okay BBQ, but not as good as the expectation from the name Slab.
Any chance you guys find some better BBQ places in LA?
Plenty of independent BBQ places all over LA and Orange County to enjoy. Slab is more of a commercial chain establishment that has been failing. Never heard of great BBQ restaurant in a mall food court. Thank you for the review.
Thanks for the video! That bbq looked pretty mid if I'm honest - esp for the price. Pass...
not the metric system....quarter pound is only 4 oz.
I think there are better place for barbecue in LA!
Y’all took Kendrick’s minivan to the spot?
Prices are outrageous. In the past five years the only food I've eaten is home cooked because I'm retired and have the time and like to cook.
Would love to see you guys go back to Vegas to review the restaurants and buffet's, they were my favorites to watch!!
In my opion that was trash for the price brisked is hard to mess up pn a smoker.
It's really sad when 2 places that should have the best BBQ lose out to Shake Shack.
Looks like the best food at both BBQ places is the chicken/chicken empanada.
Thanks for taking one for the team!
Please critique Burger King one day!
That bbq is mid at best and the brisket looked dry AF
Enjoy your shows. After 41 years, I moved out of Sherman Oaks ..
Sad to see all those closed businesses.
Gosh I miss you guys!! Thanks for another great review! ❤
It came with no sides. Hmmm. At least cole slaw or small mac salad
That was ridiculous.
If they severed that crap here in Texas they would be out of business in a week
But all bbq has to be "severed" before it's served to the customers.
*served
Thank you. If you come to Austin Texas a bbq place called Terry Black is unbelievably good eats. Also, in Fort Worth, the #1 place for bbq in Texas is Goldie's but it is only opened on Friday, Saturday and Sunday because they do not compromise on their food. They work during the week but are not open until the weekend.
Building a Terry Black’s near downtown San Antonio. Rumors are they are going to have a hotel, bath house & several restaurants. We’ll see what happens.
That mall looks so beautiful, that BBQ there is not worth it considering the price.
The best burgers in the world is FERGS BURGERS IN QUEENSTOWN NZ Open 21 hrs a day always a line down the road - burgers around NZ$25 ea apparently t/o over NZ$1.2 million a week owner will not franchise or sell out was there a few days ago just incredible.
Hi guys, for most famous I’ve never heard of Slab. Bludso, yes, Dr. Hoggly Woggly (sp?) yea. Baby Blues yes. Slab, no. Hell even Famous Dave’s is more “famous.” Try Bludso, I met him once before he opened his stores. He had a tow smoker behind his truck and parked on the street next to the West L.A. Best Buy. OMG the smell. The taste! Wrote down his name now he has places, far from me but, oh my.
Joe
You guys need to come to the southern states to get proper bar-b-que!!
Stop, If you want real BBQ, go to Texas, Kansas City or Memphis
Yes agree
Places like Slab use commercial BBQ smoker ovens that produce a generic tasting, low effort BBQ product. I’ve eaten their food here in Texas, once. There’s a good reason why their stores are closing.
Everything looked dry at both place's. Not even worth it. PASS ON BOTH.
Honestly I feel like almost all food hall food is like this. "Outposts" of popular locations that don't deliver on what the original had to offer + even higher prices because of the premium location. BBQ is especially problematic, and as a Texan born and raised, I would never trust any BBQ at a food hall, and here's exactly why: To make elite quality BBQ you need plenty of space to smoke the meats and no food hall location can do this in house. That means that they have to get their meats pre-cooked from somewhere else, and then they'll most likely just reheat it. Given that this place just closed their original location, who knows where they were getting their meats.
Another good rule of thumb is good BBQ will always have a line, or at-least people outside eating it. If it doesn't, skip it and move on, you'll just be wasting your time.
Nice video thanks but go back to Vegas is better ❤
You guys should travel to Texas try some bbq ....
Hi guys on June 14 they just opened a shake shack in Toronto Canada. I’m looking forward to trying it next month. The lines are way too much right now. I was so glad to hear your review and how much you both love it. It’s the first one to open in 🇨🇦 Take care guys😊😊😊
Be still my heart. I do much better in my back yars
I do much better on my back yard on the green egg so ,uch better.
Two things as someone watching from England, having visited the states many times I really cannot believe how expensive it has become when visiting. It’s becoming extremely expensive to visit. And secondly why do you cut your food put the knife down and swap hands with the fork! 😂never understood it!
I was born in Hollywood CA decades ago and have never heard of Slab BBQ. I googled it and it showed up on 1 BBQ best of LA locations and even that was listed as permanently closed. Bottom line I enjoyed your posting but that Topanga center looks like a train wreck with most places not opening until 4pm. I'm most curious as to your hate towards Chipotle and that it wasn't even your worst hated location so what is? (nobody's reading so you can post it here.) I mostly enjoyed Catherine in her posting of when she rated all the fast food filet of fishes that was hilarious.
lmao wow you don’t have to say it. we know, guys. lolol
That was very slim pickin's! Big time ripoff! Total loser in a touristy overpriced mall food court, I assume!😢
Nice video. That first place should have at the very least given you bread with your order. Any decent bbq place would do that! And then the second place didn't give you sauces! For the price point. Sad...
Oh good! I was worried Catherine took over the channel and hid Derek!! 😆😆
Because of one video? Give me a break.
@@ngs5554 How was the tent?
Video great as usual, but Texas BBQ in a food court. I have a hard time seeing that called Legendary. Legendary Texas BBQ is only open until they run out and you stand in lines for a long time to hopefully get some.
Derek RICE really???? Hello from New Zealand keep up the good work
Mall food 👎
The prices are insane for that . Looks terrible
The best cheese cake is at Starbucks . It’s to dye for , creamy chocolate !! You’ll be surprised . I won’t eat at the cheese Factory anymore !
So expensive . . .thanks Bidenomics/ Kamalanomics!
That place is too cool for me. I was not impressed. Not impressed with the barbecue, either. No white bread??? Too expensive and
California is in freefall and to see this beautiful mall mostly empty is sad. Everything there is hurting except the tech giants of course.
That seemed expensive for all you got! Mean portions at Slab.
With the outrageous prices and poor quality of food when eating out, it’s better sometimes to cook it at home. Miss you guys and your videos!
That combo is too tiny guys. Come to Compton ca for real deal food! Topanga Mall is upper class for me!!!
My wife and I love your show. We love watching it from Australia. ❤️ you both
those ribs looked so so not tender like fall off the bone tender
No BBQ in a food court setting can be good. Must cook the meat elsewhere & transport to the food court.
I would have walked out. If it's not busy it means foods just sitting around
I love Shake Shack. I just wish there were as many in the UK as there are Five Guys.
Signs are everywhere that a crash is coming. Look at all those closed eateries ...
I love you guys but i hate the technology that seems to be taking over. And they dont accept cash? Thats a deal breaker. Thanks for the review!
Yall was eating like yall was at a buffet today lol all yall was missing was a shake I can't go to shake shack without a shake lol
We have shakeshacks In my area and I don't like their burgers
That was good exercise! Tour du monde! 😏👌🏼
After seeing it hell no just anther bbq fast food nothing specia l
Luv yall content for good authentic Brazilian go to fogo de chao
There are no good bbq joints in california, sorry.
The Food Terrace (food court) is better than the Food Hall
Quarter pound brisket looks like a kids meal🧐😒
glad to see you both, but this place you can keep. Missed your videos, but this place is way too expensive!
Welcome to LA
I think it's a chain restaurant. There's one here in Austin, tx and it's meditation best. Expensive but mediocre. Wasn't impressed being that this is texas.
Mediocre at best. Damn my eyes! 😂
Your rating was very generous! That food was shockingly bad for the price and for BBQ in general
Fair dinkum unbelievable 😂😂❤😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
