I have recently come across this performance and it’s wonderful. A touch of Ashkenazy to it but so completely and better than many of the old and new Russian Schools of Pianism. His left hand is not over pedalled and over-phrased and brings out the phrasing dynamics between left and right hand. The suggested tempo is 80 which I think he has just about right. Other pianists comprise dynamics, styling and phrasing and create a left hand blur in order to achieve speed and mask any potential incorrect notes when making any leaps at speed. A few tweeks and refresh and this chap plays it brilliantly. FYI I know the piece well as I was taught it by my teacher when I was 10, 33 years ago and I still play it every few weeks.
MARIJAN DUZEL, SIR, YOU HAVE A REAL FULL AND TRIUMPHANT SUCCESS IN PERFORMING THIS DIFFICULT RACHMANINOFF MUSIC. THERE IS A CERTAIN INVOLVEMENT WHICH IS FULFILLING AND ENRICHING AS SELDOM HEARD BY MANY OTHER PIANISTS. YOU HAVE REALLY A NATHRAL GIFT FOR FULFILLING THE SCOPE AND BREATH OF THIS GREAT MUSIC. BRAVO.
Played in a humble and elegant way, truly a gentleman when it comes to interpreting this piece! Must be one of the best versions on RUclips! By the way, how difficult is this prelude? (E.g. compared to some Chopin etudes)
Thank you all for watching! Check out BACH Six Cello Suites on guitar by amazing Petrit Çeku ruclips.net/video/AAEVOLqFaHI/видео.html
Great solid articulate performance
Absolutely remarkable and smooth playing. This is, sir, one of the best I have ever heard.
Bravo! One of the best interpretations of this Prelude I've ever heard.

Gilels.
I love the way barry Douglas played it
@@BobbinMcferryThe only one the best one ! Yes Gilels!
The one thumbs down represents their head in the hole in ground, this was a superb performance! Just about as good as Richter’s.
Pianists like Gilels and Pletnev mess up the cadenza at 2:52. Marijan managed it masterfully. Bravo.
