    I really enjoy your videos! Over the past 2 years I have drifted away from Calvinism towards a more tradition rooted faith searching for an Anglican or Lutheran church. I felt I have had a similar journey to you in my faith (ideologically, I’m not in seminary lol). It took a while for me to do research on what the Lutheran denominations around me actually stood for. I think it would be a great short helpful video topic that would save other people who value doctrine a lot of time and would mean a lot coming from a Lutheran as well informed as yourself. A lot of churches now have a facade of tradition and without physically attending each one of them it’s hard to know what they believe.

      The file was corrupted. The audio didn't work. I'm going to have to rerecord it. I'm quite annoyed, but sorry you're stuck with this for now. It'll be up next week.

    Hey Dr. Cooper, do you know of any Lutheran treatment of miaphysitism? A lot of Christology just assumes Chalcedonianism and I’d like to see if there’s any Sola Scriptura basis to prefer it over the OO view.

    The kenotic issue is present when one is supposed to have no way to have sense data. The way of the Blockhead is way to avoid the view of a source of all ideas. Barbie was bear necessities that were supposed to put your mind at ease. The Jesus was not even the operating principle for them. Why the difference?

    Fascinating. Was the concept of the "Humiliation of a God-Man" required for Salvation for Lutheranism? Could it be another way?

  • @mosesking2923
    @mosesking2923 Год назад

    I’m a little confused about the distinction between humiliation and condescension. If I, as a human being, became an insect like a cockroach or termite, that would be humiliating regardless of my free choice to do so. God becoming man is infinitely more humiliating than man becoming a cockroach. To say the Incarnation is not humiliation is bizarre to me.

    • @poordoubloon10
      @poordoubloon10 Год назад

      The concern we have with arguing that the incarnation is inherently humiliating is that it implies that Christ's humiliation is eternal. His humiliation must inevitably make way for exaltation in the path of redemptive salvation (in the way that death makes way for resurrection).

    • @mosesking2923
      @mosesking2923 Год назад

      @@poordoubloon10 I don’t see why an eternal humiliation is in conflict with Christ’s glory and exaltation. Christ is seated at the right hand of God and yet simultaneously retains the form of a servant (Phil 2). What is the conflict?

      The USA was founded by enlightenment-era deistic rationalists as a break from what they saw as a “tyrannical” Protestant Christian monarchy.
      If you still feel patriotic,
      1). Check out the Jefferson Bible, where Jefferson cut out every supernatural event from the Bible to get to Jesus’ “true” teachings, and then ask why Jefferson says “nature’s god” in the Declaration of Independence
      2). Check out the Gnaddenhutten massacre, where Christian Indians were massacred by militia forces in Pennsylvania
