Computer enamel selection. Spectrophotometer

In this video, I talk about how computer enamel is selected using a spectrophotometer.
This is a kind of camera that photographs paint on any detail, further distinguishes which colors are mixed in it and offers a formula for the colorist.
Today we decided to choose a paint in this way for a black Opel Astra car with a code of 20R. They clicked on a spectrophotometer, poured the resulting paint and we were given a result that is very well suited for painting thresholds in the transition. It took us about 5 minutes, if not for the test. If we were to make this paint with 100% accuracy, then we would spend about 20 minutes on it.

For small car body repair services, this will most likely not be a very profitable investment, because in the sphere of paints and varnishes you need to constantly invest a tangible amount of money for them. But still, if your workload allows you to continuously work, receive and give at least 2-3 cars a day, then you should already think about buying such a mix system.
But the choice here is so wide that there is a chance to buy an expensive and stupid system, which, in fact, happened 3 years ago. We spent about 300,000 rubles on a useless mix, we realized that it did not bring profit and it was difficult to work with it, they urgently changed the system and did not regret anything. But if you are a small body repair station and make 1-2 cars a week, then choose a decent mix system, get used to the nature of applying enamel with your colorist and follow the rules of painting, without deviating from technology. In this case, you will succeed.
But still, the last word remains with the person, and the spectrophotometer serves only as an assistant and a hint for the colorist.
