@@dave24-73Only thing I really don’t like is the stupid dash-mounted shifter. And the awkward way you have to put in into manual mode. And that gear selector...what the heck is that? Porsche can be forgiven for the Taycan (gotta appeal to the tree huggers somehow), but this is just getting silly.
2023 no doubt. The shifter and push start is very awkward to reach in a normal driving position. The center tac being gone is also a thumbs down. Outside they're 95% the same anyway.
I decided to go with the 2024 and here’s why. As far as the changes to the interior are concern (the removal of the shifter and the turnkey start), yeah not the greatest but also I don’t really care. Let’s be honest, while this is a Porsche, it’s still a family SUV. Both those qualities are meant for the sports cars. As long as they keep it out of my 911, I’m good (I guess it’s too late for the 992 turbo with that crappy shifter). I decided on the 2024 because of the upgrades - better suspension, more HP, better ride overall. It just makes more sense. In my opinion the upgrades in ride quality and boost on HP on that V8, overshadow the losses (shifter and turnkey ignition). Also, I’m pretty sure the 2024 Cayenne S has more power than the 2023 Cayenne GTS. I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure it does.

First, thank you Mason for a great video. As a 2013 958 V6 Tiptronic owner 4 things stand out about the new interior. First & foremost is the removal of the traditional Porsche gauge cluster with visors! Attention Porsche AG! Not everything needs to be redesigned on a vehicle. And this "new" all digital display adopted from the Taycan is so disappointing and ugly. That's fine for the Taycan range but this is the Cayenne. Same goes for the interior door handles. For 2024 - and I could clearly read your lack of enthusiasm Mason - Porsche has done away with the gorgeous, sculptural chrome loop handles and replaced them with these cheap, plastic VW crap. If I want the build quality of an Atlas I buy one. I already looked online to see if there's any handle or display options for these original, classic versions and none yet. It makes me scream! Such a step backwards. Third is the removal of the dashboard clock and lastly is the interior roof control panel with the ambient lighting gone. I love that for driving my Cayenne at night. Gives a subtle illumination to the interior cab and its gone. I'm looking to upgrade my Cayenne but these key features, the gorgeous visual and tactile elements that really made the Porsche Cayenne interior lovely are gone, replaced by this bland Volkswagen interior. Boggles the mind. ✌️
Fully agree. Wtf have they done with the interior door handles? They look dreadful. And the gear selector - where am I going to rest my hand now...? And no cowl on the Speedo panel - that's surely going to show just how dusty it is. Bad move Porsche.

Well...no. The rear has has changed to be more similar to the Cayenne Coupe as the license plate is now in the bumper. I think that this is a GREAT departure from the majority of vehicles that clutter the styling by inexplicitly place it in the exact center of the tailgate. I'm totally with you on the interior though...
@@kmcbride1832 what I mean specifically is that i personally thing the non-coupe has looked more like a mini-van than an a sporty suv. Even the first model is more an SUV.
they made the rear so ugly and boring....it's just a straight looking light bar design, at least the previous one you can see the shape but the 2024 one, the rear is just so plain. I like everything else but man, they kind of went a step backwards with the Rear tail lights, maybe the center portion needed a more drastic contrast within the entire light bar, but from a distance, it just looks like a straight light bar

👍🏼 I am sure at some point Porsche will release an EV version. It will be interesting to see if EV cars last long term as there have been studies that a EV car uses 6 times the mineral inputs than an internal combustion car and if all countries world wide reached there EV goals by 2030 it would only reduce global temps by .0002 degrees missing the point EV cars were set out to do. Will be interesting to see if at some point EV's will be the future or other alternates such as hydrogen cars or E-fuels such as what Porsche is working on with Siemens will be the future 🤔
Hi .. let's start at the beginning, I'm from Romania, I'm 43 years old and I currently own a PORSCHE cayenne E Hybrid Platinum Edition and the car is k, I'm satisfied, but I've only driven 5,000 km, so it's natural that the car is k, being new.. I have owned PORSCHE cars before, all the Cayenne models and I will probably own them again if the people from Porsche come back... k now I will present my opinion as a loyal customer .. let's analyze together .. any Porsche customer will choose this car in the first place for the brand, elegance, sportiness, exclusivity and last but not least for the classic that the brand has represented for so many years (like ROLEX) you don't buy a Rolex to check the time, you buy it for status, reliability and the classic that it represents .. this was also porsche a sports car that offered the status of a design classic that did not need a revolutionary design to attract ... a pair for a Rolex not for a Casio .. this facelift is seen in the first place that it is made of economy and no longer represents what it represented .. 1 .. for example that handle for children can no longer be sporty, it no longer represents power, it is embarrassing when you park, especially in Europe where the parking lots are rare and small to stay with your fingers behind the steering wheel so you can do parking maneuvers or put it on manual etc.. 2 ..that console now without a shifter is less comfortable, the shifter gives you additional comfort to sit with a natural hand position on the armrest, I think it is more important than sacrificing such comfort to get candy or gum, etc in that bigger hole in the console or to sit with the phone on charge for hours because it needs cooling, you don't buy a Porsche for something like that .. the driving comfort wins who will understand this will win ... 3 that screen for the passenger is pointless such as going on a long trip with my wife or a friend, etc. and that someone should sit silently on the right and watch the movie, maybe I in the car can also hear the sound of the movie while I'm driving...or on the navigation system when you have a very big screen next to everything with navigation (it costs more and extra) and I, as a buyer, can never see it, anyway, if it were this kind of person on the right, it would clearly be on smartphones, not on the dashboard of the car .. 4 ..that classic tachometer that it is now in the middle, it gives it a dose of luxury and makes the difference between a VW, TOYOTA, OPEL, CHEVROLET, etc. and a PORSCHE .. this shows that you are now driving a luxury car full of digital displays from the windshield to the console anyway .. 5 .. that "new" sport respons is very cheap as a matte plastic material and it's not practical. While I'm driving, I see very quickly through the light in it what sport or sport plus or etc. is selected... facelft no longer offers this comfort ..6 .. that start button that changed the classic shape of the key is like Ford (Rolex vs Casio) no longer makes the difference between an expensive more exclusive car and a normal one .. 7.. it has too few commands on the console more precisely half of what it had, it no longer has shortcuts in the menu, not even a button for controlling the central display, it no longer has it and the whole board moves when pressed, next to that piano black Mazda that replaced the touch glass and beautiful metal from the comfortable and sporty changer 😔 .. 8 .. The handle for opening the door from the inside is exactly like a BMW without personality .. 9 .. the upper box is incomparably uglier and the material is very cheap compared to the current one .. 10.. a car that does not it has visible elements and details without metal inside, it cannot be called a luxury car .. 11.. the exterior changes now lead to AUDI, they are no longer fluid like the 911 should have done now and the square key not in the shape of the 911 needles headlights with the fluid shape of Porsche have disappeared .. too bad the taillight looks cheaper and there will always be dirt and dust between the letters and in the coupe version it is less aggressive without that cutout on the sides in the body where the taillight has that thicker ending .. the classic a died ... and with it the luxury for the Cayenne .. let's hope that the new model will be a PORSCHE .. the facelift is a commercial and cheap shame .. see the engine cover .. rear presses without grips etc ..
I couldn't agree more. I think that Porsche somewhat needed to hold the price-point, so they found ways to make items less expensive. Lots of savings on many items adds up and saves cost to manufacturer. I feel like they are trying to hide the inferior material behind a design change, but I feel it is failure. I am mostly talking about the interior. Furthermore, I feel BMW went the same route. Technologically forward, but build materials/interior design backward. A shame IMO.
Sometimes it’s best to leave well enough alone.
Porsche wouldn’t be the clear leader it is, if it left well enough alone. Slow, meaningful, well engineered refinement is their way.
What don’t you like,

I think that this is a GREAT departure from the majority of vehicles that clutter the styling by inexplicitly place it in the exact center of the tailgate. I'm totally with you on the interior though...
@@kmcbride1832 what I mean specifically is that i personally thing the non-coupe has looked more like a mini-van than an a sporty suv. Even the first model is more an SUV.
If anything the new one looks less agressive and boring
new one does look more new/modern. But still like the old one!
Right there with you ☺️
2023 looks like the upgraded one if I didn't know the difference.
upgrade your mic
Voice audio is distorted…too annoying to watch.
I am sorry 😞
Aggressive the new most used word in vehicle design today, taking over for dynamic. Nobody likes a parking lot bully
Porsche, like any german cars, the interior is the same
Literally looks the same 😂
Now it completely looks like a frog 🐸
Want aggressive
Then get a 911
Won’t spend extra for the newest
Happens Everytime
Save some money
Get a 23
Not impressed
Sos
they made the rear so ugly and boring....it's just a straight looking light bar design, at least the previous one you can see the shape but the 2024 one, the rear is just so plain. I like everything else but man, they kind of went a step backwards with the Rear tail lights, maybe the center portion needed a more drastic contrast within the entire light bar, but from a distance, it just looks like a straight light bar
You have a bit of confusion with the meaning of the words 😂” the front looks really more aggressive” the 99% of people don t see the difference at first looks if not compared immediately with the other one. The back is a “drastic” change 😂 do u know the meaning of drastic?
Maybe so 😂 I have always had an issue with speech… growing up I had a bad stutter so even that I am here on RUclips making videos is a miracle 😉
Mason rather than replying to this asshat I just wanted to thank you for telling us this. I wouldn’t have known. I can only imagine how hard it is to speak continually without a script. You’re terrific on camera don’t let anyone tell you any different. It really pisses me off to see on social media idiots like @valeriomelz486. The fact you shared you stutter, I hope anyone else whose got something smart to say shuts the F*ck up. Only support for you, you’re one classy gentleman.
Still looks almost the same as it has since way back in 2011. Biggest difference is the engine and interior dash layouts. Same boring color options unfortunately.
He covers everything Porchia
The sound is awful, sorry can’t get through the review.
My apologies 😑🤦🏻♂️ spent hours trying to fix it
hideous gear selector
My Fourth Porsche Cayenne…….The interior design team should be immediately sacked and replaced. My 165.000 us$ car has a totally Porsche unworthy, CHEAP, Plastic interior. It’s just absolutely HORRIBLE and a total disaster compared with what we were used to get from Porsche. I feel like I’m sitting in a cheap Toyota or Skoda. Help, this is just totally unacceptable. It’s the biggest Porsche Rip-off ever. I have 10 porsches…..The new Cayenne is a Shambles, whatever the seller glorifies, it’s a waste of money…..Just GUTTED and it’s UNACCEPTABLE !
Yuck. Not a fan of these "updates"
☹️
all these changes suck haha. It’s like everything is following Tesla design these days.
Digital tach...yuck. Fail.
😑
Waiting for the Cayenne EV. Pointless buying this old tech.
There isn't going to be much difference in the tech. Biggest change will be asethics. The Taycan is a good analogy
👍🏼
👍🏼 I am sure at some point Porsche will release an EV version. It will be interesting to see if EV cars last long term as there have been studies that a EV car uses 6 times the mineral inputs than an internal combustion car and if all countries world wide reached there EV goals by 2030 it would only reduce global temps by .0002 degrees missing the point EV cars were set out to do. Will be interesting to see if at some point EV's will be the future or other alternates such as hydrogen cars or E-fuels such as what Porsche is working on with Siemens will be the future 🤔
theres something wrong with your audio.. either the receiver is playing up or when you imported the audio.. it sounds a bit sped up.
Hi .. let's start at the beginning, I'm from Romania, I'm 43 years old and I currently own a PORSCHE cayenne E Hybrid Platinum Edition and the car is k, I'm satisfied, but I've only driven 5,000 km, so it's natural that the car is k, being new..
