Great list! Two more of my all time favourites are: Deep Madness and The Order of Vampire Hunters. I’m really looking forward to Dawn of Madness and Ancient Blood, both upcoming sequels/prequels of those two respectively.
I was wondering when Deep Madness would be mentioned! It was on a prior list of mine. Dawn of Madness is a perfect one for an honourable mention. Looking forward to that one!
@@RollingSolo may I ask what made you take out Deep Madness this year? A lack of plays maybe? Also, from what I've seen so far, Dawn of Madness has the most horrific, edging to really disturbing miniatures and theme I've seen in a board game. It was one of the first KS that I backed and remains in my top 3 of most anticipated games - hopefully we'll have it by the end of 2022 :)
It certainly is up their with KDM in terms of how serious it takes itself. Deep Madness was great but I found others replaced it for me now. Doesn’t mean I don’t like it or doesn’t deserve to be played!
My wife and I just played Dawn of the Zeds last night. It is heavier, but that much more rewarding. Fury of Dracula would be my favorite Halloween/Horror themed game.
Great mention for Unfathomable! Even though it's not a solo game, I picked it up as I really enjoyed BSG gameplay, just not the IP as much. Unfathomable is right in my wheelhouse. Thanks for watching!
Great list, personal favourites are Dungeon Degenerates and Cthulhu death may die. A couple of others missing off this list are Machina Arcana and the ultimate Halloween themed game “A touch of evil”. Another new game as you mentioned Nemesis, Horrified and Alien would be Alien:Fate of the Nostromo.
I’m literally about to open up Dungeon Degenerates and digging in very soon. Even upgraded the dice because I’m excited about it. I added a touch of evil to the pinned comment honorable mentions as well! It deserves it 👏🏼
Great list. Eldritch Horror is my favourite, absolutely love how difficult it is, followed by Horrified. Had Arkham Horror LCG, I liked it but I’m not a fan of drafting so I got rid of it. Gonna look into Dungeon Degenerates. It looks amazing with all that neon!
Here are some other solo board games (mostly, some are miniature games) that I think fit the season (in alphabetical order) : - A Touch of Evil - All Things Zombies (in various iterations) - AMC The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary - Attack on Titan: Deck-Building Game - Camp Grizzly - Conquest of the Planet Earth - Day Night Z - Dracula's America - Endure the Stars - Fireteam Zero - Lobotomy - Lovecraft's Revenge - Nightwatch (by Patrick Todoroff) - Planet Apocalypse - Unbroken - Village Attacks - Xenoshyft
Love it! There's a handful of these I've covered as well. Fireteam Zero has some great books that compliment the game and get you more into it. Thanks for sharing all these! :D
AH as #1 great choice! AH 2nd ed is my beloved game. Bloodborne #2 big surprise. I wasn't expecting anything and the game is just great. Nice video. Great tips. And BTW great decoration the table in the background! 😍
I missed the KS for Bloodborne, but I just got the base game & Hunter's Dream...then ordered what I could find in the way of expansions that are still available at retail prices. Big +1 on AH 2nd!
Thanks Adam - great stuff! I'm also a big fan of Arkham Horror 3rd edition and Eldritch Horror and have Final Girl pledged. I'm hoping that some day you'll try out my "Dawn of the Zeds" game as it is a solitaire horror game as well and hopefully it will make your list in the future. All the best and thanks again for an entertaining video.
Hey Hermann! 14:00 It made the list in the #15 slot! It was my alternate pick for those that want to play a zombie based game but want something more interesting and rewarding aimed at more experienced solo players.
@@RollingSolo Ack! My apologies! How did I miss that? I must have been distracted - thanks so much for including it on your list! Also, I saw that Rodney will be doing a playthrough of Final Girl ... can't wait! Thanks again for all you do for the hobby and the solo community specifically.
Solomon Kane is currently my favorite game of all time. That may be the only solo game that I own that could be classified as "horror," but I have heard about Cthulhu: DMD enough now that I have added it to my list. I always really like to play Betrayal At House on the Hill and Gloom around Halloween. Neither are solo, and both are pretty light games, but fun for the season. Thanks for the list!
I did think of another solo game: Spire's End definitely fits the horror genre. I have not personally played it yet, but I have a pre-ordered a copy from the next print run.
A few solo playable horror games I would add. 1. Slaughterville & Slaughterville II Both games can be played individually or combined. Pick your favorite villian, Dracula, zombie Horde, body snatchers, Jack the Ripper, slasher, or many others and see if you can survive. 2. Legendary Predator. Just like Legendary Alien except based on Predator 1 & 2 and can be combined with Legendary Alien to create your own AVP. Dutch & Ripley team up anyone? 3. Camp Grizzly. This game would be number one if it wasn't that it's impossible to find anymore. NO GAME comes closer to capturing Friday the 13th films then this game and that does include the Friday the 13th boardgame. It's 1979 your a camp counselor at Camp Grizzly when a serial killer with a bear fetish named Otis shows up. This game has many homages to many horror films. Thanks for having Shadows of Brimstone on your list. I love the game and feel it's overlooked a lot by game critics.
Awesome list, was really happy to see Solomon Kane included. We've been enjoying Terrors of London as well. As an aside, can I ask where you got the tables seen in the background of the video?
Hello Sean! Solomon Kane deserves a spot on my list for sure. Terrors in London! That’s solid one too. The tables are GameToppers. Any future ones you’re excited about?
@@RollingSolo Thanks for the info on the tables. I really like the look of those! I'm looking forward to getting a hold of Horrified: American Monsters. Loved the original for solo and co-op so interested to see what it adds. I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that you do a Dawn of the Zeds playthrough at some point. I finally found a copy and would love to see you tackle a playthrough.
I'd like an opinion on Shadows of Brimstone: Is it a game of skill, where you can learn to play it better and better; where you can develop a skilful sense of how to manage combat and your other game choices? Thanks, - toby
Yes you can learn to play it more efficiently but this one will always have an element of luck. However, experience really helps on the strategic side of things and with more and more games you do play much smarter. 👍🏼
Betrayal at house on the hill. Original for a quick immersive evening, or legacy for a fully fleshed out campaign with customisable items, characters and hundreds of outcomes.
Lol I didn’t expect to see myself on here. Since this I’ve actually gone on to own Forbidden fortress and some really rare shadows of brimstone content. :)
Great list! My list would be: Arkham Horror LCG, A Touch of Evil, Betrayal Legacy, Cthulhu: Death May Die, Darklight Momento Mori, Deep Madness, Dungeon Degenerates, Eldritch Horror, Folklore: The Affliction, Kingdom Death: Monster, Last Night on Earth, Mansions of Madness 2E, Nemesis, Shadows of Brimstone, Solomon Kane
Awesome list Thomas! You got some in there that would absolutely have made my Top 20 list. There were a few hard cuts. Vampire Chapters is going to be epic. 🦇
Thank you for specifically mentioning the incredible lack of Pirate, Westerns, and Western Horror games. Got into Boardgames in 2018/2019 and recently began trying to fill my collection by looking for games in genres and IPs I like and am baffled by how few options I have to even create a shortlist of potential buys. Even being relatively niche how can I not find 10 different options released in the last 5 years for each of these genre for every 1000 Fantasy games re-released yearly? There are more park/zoo management games released in the last year than Westerns and Pirates in the last decade it seems. With Western Horror my only options seem to be SoB and the new Zombicide and gritty pirate games seem entirely non-existent. Most perplexing are the lack of alien fighting games like Nemesis. More than pirates&cowboys combined but still not much even if we stretch the theme to include Star Wars and Warhammer but still pretty low options for something I don't consider niche. Space exploration and settlement are not rare. Next year we get Rogue Angels that's supposed to have a Mass Effect vibe so crossing my fingers that turns out good.
Pirates especially as there is so much to work with when it comes to an adventure game or dungeon crawler etc. The first person to put out a well received pirate or cowboy game is going to have an evergreen game on their hands.
Awesome, we have 9 of the first 10 you mentioned, I guess we really like horror games 👺. One I'm looking forward to getting before the end of the year is Spires End.
Deep Madness was on my prior list and got bumped this time. However, if I expanded the list to 20 it would have landed. It’s a tough game and nails the horror vibe. Excited for Dawn of Madness too!
I don't have many games but Mansions of Madness 2nd edition is the top for me. I should be receiving Final Girl in the next few weeks and I am wanting to dive into that. Eldritch Horror is on my shelf of shame so I will dive into that soon as well. Zombicide does have that being over run by zombies feeling in spades but the horror tension is not nearly as high as in MoM. I didn't realize you were a fellow Canuck :)
You need to get Eldritch Horror played. You’ll have fun with that one! Yep, Canadian! Lived on the East Coast most of my life and now live on the West side of Canada. 🇨🇦
I would add Bloody Inn to the list. Not horror in the sense that something is after you, but you are the killer of your Inn, so it's definitely horror themed.
Very good list. Surprised that This War of Mine not on the list. My list of games I own 4. Aliens: Fate of the Nostromo 3. Elder Sign 2. Mansions of Madness 1. Horrified
My favorites; Okko Chronicles - Demon hunting in feudal Japan Solomon Kane - its Solomon Kane! A Touch of Evil - Gothic horror magnifiscense Arkham Horror LCG - Best Arkham Files game imo This War of Mine - Not supernatural horror but certainly horrific Nemesis - In the game room everybody can hear you scream
Great Video, own most of your list, I missed solomon kane.... unfortunatelly. Final Girl must be arriving any day !!!!! Really anxious for it to land in my hands... I find nice and quick to play Zombicide Night of the Living Dead. Cthulhu Death May Die is the number 1 !!!!
Solomon Kane is 99.9% coming back at some point I think the future so you will have another chance! Final Girl I can’t wait for. DMD will never leave my collection, I love it!
Nothing better than Kingdom Death : Monster ... with version 1.6 and the Gamblers Chest it will be a new dimension of board gaming. I missed Elder Signs, Deep Madness, Dawn of Madness, Vampire Heritage and Machina Arcana. But great list ... I most agree.
you missed my home brew solo of the classic vhs game Nightmare, which is essentially watching the youtube video of the original vhs and chuckling. because there aren't many amazing top tier solo horror themed euros, I'd throw in Abomination: The Heir of Frankenstein. It's definitely not on the best euro list, and you do have some of the best thematic games of all time, but if you wanted a halloween euro, it's the best in that one category. The other honorable mention is Dark rituals, this is probably my favorite 1vall, definitely my favorite campaign 1vall, and the solo campaign is pretty neat. less solo content then the big solo only games, but my favorite solo 1vall by far and a very Halloween vibe as you play witches trying to summon demons and kill heroes.
@@RollingSolo my fathers work, looks slick but no solo. monsters on board is probably the best thing upcoming with solo, light dice game with a kids mode. and then you'd have to go back to the kingsburg reskin kingsport festival for maybe best horror game with euro mechanics, even if it's less a traditional euro. stationfall is kinddda horror adjacent as a station falls into the atmosphere, and you're definitely goaled on killing each other and there a monster on board that can get out.
I’m thinking of making a community list of horror games and adding them to the pinned comment for others reference. A lot to like in the horror genre! 👻
Not a boardgame, but I've been playing English Eerie, it's a nice little game that can be played solo and is super lite. Definitely worth trying if you enjoy old ghost stories and...writing. :)
Cthulhu Death May Die is a really fun game, especially with all the trimmings. Nothing like sending Rasputin and Al Capone in to a room to Tommy-gun Yog Sothoth. Great miniatures. Nemesis is next on the list. Always fancied a look of Kingdom Death: Monster though...but, nobody can afford it😀
All great ones! KDM is expensive but I truly believe it’s worth the cost. Might take a bit save up for it but if you do get a chance to own it I recommend it. There are others ways to try it out as well like TTS.
@@RollingSolo I also have not binged the game so slumbers haven’t been an issue for me. As a matter of fact, slumbers change immensely as you progress through the game and I can’t imagine slumbers not being part of the game.
@@christian_daigle oh, man! I understand. Our wave 2 has been delayed until next year March/April. I know the Lang edition has taken forever. When you do get it, take your time and enjoy it! It really is a phenomenal game! I heard that the Lang edition should be releasing soon so hopefully you won’t have to wait long! Take care!
A Touch of Evil has obviously been mentioned many times. But of all the games, I think it most deftly touches the vibe of autumn and Halloween. Sci-fi/Lovecraft and Horror Fantasy will never do that as much. Horrified is OK, but just not near as immersive. A Touch of Evil also replaces Final Girl in every way. Quickness of turns, narrative, atmosphere, variety of villains/heroes and interactivity with maps/locations.
As a matter of fact I just got ToE in the mail the other day. It’s one I’ve had my eye on for some time. Based on what I’ve seen of gameplay from ToE and what I played of Final Girl, they both stand very firm on their own. 👍🏼
I expected to see Kingdom Death in there! Coincidentally I watched this immediately after starting my first new campaign in a long while. I just finished incorporating the 1.6 update pack into my copy a couple days ago.
You mentioned KDM as a massive and expensive game, but I have to say that Shadows of Brimstone has really socked it to my wallet. I backed Shadows of Brimstone Adventures on KS as my first foray into board gaming since I was a kid (ironically, it's also the game I've waited the longest on....and still waiting nearly 3 years later). Between buying all the various previous versions of the game, and myriad "quality of life" improvements to make the game look nicer, I've dropped nearly $2,500 on this one game series alone (and that was all within 6 months!). Yeah, I may have gone a teeeeeeensie bit overboard. As for your shout outs, I'm anxiously awaiting Final Girl and looking forward to playing Vampire: The Masquerade - Chapters, too. Just be aware there's another V:TM game out there subtitled "Blood Feud", just so you don't accidentally confuse people as to which one you mean. I backed that one for $1 just to follow it, but decided against fully pledging for it since it didn't have a solo play option.
Very true! Shadows of Brimstone has nailed me good. I haven’t everything released to date minus the resin pieces. Even have two sets of dice per character. It adds up! However, I’ve been buying stuff for it over the course of 6+ years. I have VM name in the pinned comment and also made sure to include ‘Chapters’ in the on screen title. 😄👌🏼 Thanks for watching and sounds like we have some SoB KS stuff coming in the near future haha
Eldritch Horror is tops all time for me, not just horror but any game. The story generated by the cards and gameplay is always unique and always satisfying, even when I lose. Cthulhu DMD is top 5 all time, which I guess makes it #2 in the horror category for me. Arkham Horror 2E was amazing, such atmosphere and board presentation as you mentioned. Big nod to card backs with art, which have been lost in the recent FFG releases such as Arkham Horror 3E and Unfathomable (the good, beloved Fantasy Flight died with the Asmodee acquisition, just like many predicted--that is an unfortunate horror of its own). But AH 2E was too unwieldy--it wasn't designed with forward compatibility in mind. Eldritch Horror redid AH2E right. AH3E was something different, passable but not captivating in the mold of AH2E or EH. Nemesis--man, not all of my friends like it but I agree with your summary: flawless. I have Shadows of Brimstone but it is hard to table with all the stuff I have (I've drowned in the deep end as you mentioned). I need to make more of an effort. I ought to play Touch of Evil and maybe Folklore: the Affliction. And I'm anxiously awaiting the Solomon Kane reprint (Mythic says there is one coming). Overall fantastic video!
Played Eldritch Horror this past Monday against Hypnos and well we got destroyed. Always fun and will likely go at him again next Monday. I need to check out the 10th Anniversary Edition of A Touch of Evil. 👍🏼 Thanks for watching!
Nemesis is my Top Game and such a great horror and storytelling experience. Other favourite horror games for me are The Awful Orphanage using the updated rules. It’s a Victorian Gothic game. Night of The Living Dead - a Zombicide game using some of the fan made rules that greatly enhance it. Lastly, Tales of Evil, which is a lighter yet extremely fun and social (so doesn’t T shine as solo game), kids-on-bikes-RPG board game. An honourable mention from me goes to The Faceless. Despite the horrible Kickstarter delivery there is still a pretty fun, light and tricky board game with some great tension building.
Since I have ‚re-entered‘ (solo) board gaming only since the pandemic, I don’t have that much of a repertoire yet. I really enjoy Bloodborne and Death may Die, but couldn’t get into Arkham LCG and Zombicide Dawn of the Dead. Horrified is high on my Xmas wishlist 😏The only other games that cone to mind which have a real horror feeling is Space Hulk and two episodes of T.I.M.E. Stories: Estrella Drive (very disturbing atmosphere) and The Endurance Expedition (cool Lovecraft vibes).
@@RollingSolo In the Lego / Bricks community, there is a name for the time where you don‘t play with / collect it: the Dark Ages. Maybe we should adapt it for board gaming, too 😏
Well, I feel like you phoned this one in a little bit. Lots of obvious choices - not sure there's a solo gamer out there who doesn't know all about all of these games. Where were those interesting but slightly niche picks like Machina Arcana or Lobotomy?
Hey Blake! Thanks for watching. This is a list of my personal favs so there wasn’t a single game on here phoned in haha. I’ve played Machina Arcana and enjoyed it but it didn’t stick long term for me. Lobotomy was in the same boat. However, both are valid and worth mentioning as many enjoy them too!
yeah, a touch of Evil..... and no one has said "the others" ... totally under rated and superior to Cuthulu DMD in my opinion. Witches of Salem also more Halloween themed than some of these, and of of the troubled "Legends of Sleepy Hollow" that has one of the best ever play thoughs on On Table Top...
@@RollingSolo ohhhhh of course, yes there was a fan made variant - but when ever i see Death may die, i think the others so sorry yes, - of course its not a solo game, but yes there was a fan made solo mode.
There’s a ton! It was hard to crunch this list down to 15. I could have easily done 20. Good idea! As I have very young kids, I can appreciate those games. 🎃
@@RollingSolo sorry I saw ur comment late, no the list was wonderful and perfect, Idk so much about board games, bought an ultimate edition of Mage knight a few years ago, it was so expensive and it wasn't enough entertaining for me to make me spend that amount of money on another board game again 🥺 I had a long and frustrating process of learning too, recently I could buy a PS4 slim with the money I could pay just for a few new board games!
@@aghakeshmiripp Mage Knight is the super deep end of the pool for rules vs fun in a board game at the start. I would recommend many other solo games before it. Don’t write them all off! On BGG there is a complexity rating that is a good gauge as to whether it’ll take a bit to get to the fun of a game.
Good thing I don’t tel anyone to buy everything on my lists. 😜 It’s been available through their Kickstarter and also in restock from their store multiple times over the years. If you’re signed up for their newsletter you won’t miss an restocks. Cheers!

The colours are crazy and I love it. Diving into it soon. Even upgraded the dice 😉
Here are some other solo board games (mostly, some are miniature games) that I think fit the season (in alphabetical order) :
- A Touch of Evil
- All Things Zombies (in various iterations)
- AMC The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary
- Attack on Titan: Deck-Building Game
- Camp Grizzly
- Conquest of the Planet Earth
- Day Night Z
- Dracula's America
- Endure the Stars
- Fireteam Zero
- Lobotomy
- Lovecraft's Revenge
- Nightwatch (by Patrick Todoroff)
- Planet Apocalypse
- Unbroken
- Village Attacks
- Xenoshyft
haha! Something on the table you may like? 😉
I missed the KS for Bloodborne, but I just got the base game & Hunter's Dream...then ordered what I could find in the way of expansions that are still available at retail prices. Big +1 on AH 2nd!
That’s awesome! Hope you like it. 👍🏼
@hermann luttmann .Dawn is great Hermann! Had many fun times thank you!
@@w92viking64 Thanks so much! I really appreciate it!
Great list as always!
Thank you Sean! Fun one to do 🙌🏼
Solomon Kane is currently my favorite game of all time.
I think you’d enjoy DMD. Solomon Kane is awesome. It’s a keeper!
I did think of another solo game: Spire's End definitely fits the horror genre. I have not personally played it yet, but I have a pre-ordered a copy from the next print run.
I’m aiming to pick that up too!
Awesome! Love detailed responses like these. Thanks for bringing those up. Camp Grizzly I need to play. Haven’t yet as I can’t find it either haha
I'm looking forward to getting a hold of
Horrified: American Monsters. Loved the original for solo and co-op so interested to see what it adds.
I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that you do a Dawn of the Zeds playthrough at some point. I finally found a copy and would love to see you tackle a playthrough.
That would be fun to do! No promises but noted. 😄
Not in this list but one of my faves is Apocrypha Adventure Card Game.
If I had the money, KDM for sure!
Thanks for watching and sharing yours! KDM is quite the epic halloween campaign for sure. ;D
@@RollingSolo thanks!
Is it possible to still get Arkham Horror 2e? Or has 3e take over it?
Second Edition is no longer printing but you can find it all the time second hand. Hope that helps!
Betrayal at house on the hill. Original for a quick immersive evening, or legacy for a fully fleshed out campaign with customisable items, characters and hundreds of outcomes.
That is a very fun game with others. I always enjoy it!
I would also add Vampire The Masquerade: Chapters if it was out.
Great list, the only game I‘m absolutely missing is Betrayal at the House on the Hill
That’s a classic! Great mention 👻
Awesome, we have 9 of the first 10 you mentioned, I guess we really like horror games 👺.
One I'm looking forward to getting before the end of the year is Spires End.
Nice! Seems you all do haha
That’s one on my list to check out in the near future as soon as I can get my hands on it. 😄
@@RollingSolo pre orders for it was opened a while back, not sure if it's still up or not. Had to order directly from their website.
Will be doing that!
I would say Deep Madness is on my list. Can't wait for VTM: Chapters!
Deep Madness was on my prior list and got bumped this time. However, if I expanded the list to 20 it would have landed. It’s a tough game and nails the horror vibe. Excited for Dawn of Madness too!
Two others from Flying Frog Productions: A Touch of Evil and Last Night on Earth. :-)
A popular one for sure! Thanks for the heads up. 👏🏼
Great List! All the ones I would have said. Side question- what kind of tables are those? Are they commercially available?
GameToppers! They have regular Kickstarters all the time. 😄
My favorite Halloween games are Campy Creators and Monster Slaughter
Sweet! Thanks John. Getting those to the table I assume? 🎃
Yes he is Canuck. Related to Rodney Smith, who is also Canuck
Great list!!
Appreciate it. Have a good one John! 🎃
@@RollingSolo I especially love seeing so many games I own on the list... guess I made good choices!
Sounds like it! These are my current favs. 👍🏼
I would add Bloody Inn to the list. Not horror in the sense that something is after you, but you are the killer of your Inn, so it's definitely horror themed.
That sounds like it fits the bill for sure. Thanks for that mention. 👍🏼
Very good list. Surprised that This War of Mine not on the list.
My list of games I own
4. Aliens: Fate of the Nostromo
3. Elder Sign
2. Mansions of Madness
1. Horrified
Nice list! Love seeing this. Helps others find great horror games too. Any future games of interest too?
@@RollingSolo I am definitely interested in the new Arkham Horror LCG core box!
Oooo! Such a good game.
Enjoyed the list.. I enjoy Deep Madness and would have it on my list.
That’s a fun and thematic game for sure. I’m looking forward to Dawn of Madness now. 👍🏼
@@RollingSolo The wait has been long on that one but the vids of the minis have me champing at the bit to paint and play at some point
It's been a loooong wait to say the least haha
I hope it's worth. :)
My favorites;
Okko Chronicles - Demon hunting in feudal Japan
Solomon Kane - its Solomon Kane!
A Touch of Evil - Gothic horror magnifiscense
Arkham Horror LCG - Best Arkham Files game imo
This War of Mine - Not supernatural horror but certainly horrific
Nemesis - In the game room everybody can hear you scream
This War of Mine totally fits the bill as well. The mental toll is heavy! Great game!
My 2 choices would be Darkest NIght and Dawn of the Zeds. Thank you for the video...
Solid choices! Dawn of the Zeds made the list and Darkest Night is a perfect fit for this list as well. Any future ones?
Nothing better than Kingdom Death : Monster ... with version 1.6 and the Gamblers Chest it will be a new dimension of board gaming. I missed Elder Signs, Deep Madness, Dawn of Madness, Vampire Heritage and Machina Arcana. But great list ... I most agree.
Absolutely! Looking forward to the GC landing. Dawn of Madness I’m looking forward to. That’ll be some horror for sure!
Good list. I personally would’ve put A Touch of Evil, 10th Anniversary Edition, as an honorable mention though it’s a roll and move game.
That’s a great one! Allow me that one miss 🙏🏼
I’ve added it to the pinned comment because that one certainly deserves it for longevity.
Final Girl is roll and move. It's the most over-rated solo game
I find myself putting Village Attacks on the table each Halloween season.
Village Attacks is one I’ve never tried although I’ve looked into it briefly. Certainly intrigued by the looks of it!
Village Attacks is a great horror themed game that can be played solo. You play as the monsters defending your castle from local villagers.
Very true! That’s one I haven’t had a chance to play. Good mention Mark! Any future ones you’re excited about?
@@RollingSolo Looking forward to Final Girl. Really like Hostage Negotiator so this will be on my list.
Me too!
You also didn't mention Ghost Stories. Tense, thematic and not fiddly to do a turn. Good for solo (especially with yellow monk).
Thanks for mentioning these! As I spoke to in the video the more mentions the more options for the community. Thanks for sharing yours! 🤩
Great list!
My favourites, in no particular order:
CAVE EVIL
Psycho Raiders
FEROX
Camp Grizzly
Fury of Dracula
The Gothic Game
Love this! Thanks for sharing them and watching the video. 🎃
Nothing is more scarier than the party host bring out Monopoly Longest Game Ever Edition. Just Run! RUN!!!
🏃🏻♂️💨 That is terrifying! haha
I would also add Deep Madness, it's a bit hard to get to the table, but it's also one of my favourite dungeon crawlers!
I found that too. It’s quite of bit of management. Almost a much heavier version of Zombicide.
you missed my home brew solo of the classic vhs game Nightmare, which is essentially watching the youtube video of the original vhs and chuckling.
because there aren't many amazing top tier solo horror themed euros, I'd throw in Abomination: The Heir of Frankenstein.
I really wish someone would put together a solid horror euro game. Would be fresh! 🔥
@@RollingSolo
my fathers work, looks slick but no solo.
monsters on board is probably the best thing upcoming with solo, light dice game with a kids mode.
and then you'd have to go back to the kingsburg reskin kingsport festival for maybe best horror game with euro mechanics, even if it's less a traditional euro.
stationfall is kinddda horror adjacent as a station falls into the atmosphere, and you're definitely goaled on killing each other and there a monster on board that can get out.
Very cool! A couple of those I wasn’t aware of. I jumped in on My Father’s Work.
I would add " touch of evil" by flying frog
Ah yes! That’s certainly a great fit. Great mention Mark 🦇
Betrayal at the House on the Hill straight up or legacy are solid, I’d add them in.
I’m thinking of making a community list of horror games and adding them to the pinned comment for others reference. A lot to like in the horror genre! 👻
We got the minis crate for Folklore and my God the game is AMAZING!
It adds a ton of immersion to have all those minis. The crate is also super handy for storage of this large game. 😄
Not a boardgame, but I've been playing English Eerie, it's a nice little game that can be played solo and is super lite. Definitely worth trying if you enjoy old ghost stories and...writing. :)
Nice! I like hearing ones I don’t know about. See you around 😄
Adam can't believe you didn't mention Machina Arcana..
I have sinned! 😬
Thanks for mentioning it. Any other favs?
Great horror games, but i would add Machina Arcana in this list
That’s a solid pick for sure! 🔥
Throwing it out there, but how about Warhammer: Cursed City? Great game & certainly fits the horror element ( if you can get your hands on a copy!!!)
Nice Craig! Thanks for mentioning that one. I haven't played that before. Intrigued!
Great list but I'm surprised Machina Arcana is not in the list.
Another vote for MA! It’s a good one as well! Only enough room for 15 😜 Thanks for watching
I’m hell stoked for VtM: Chapters and Hel: the Last Saga. I can’t fucking wait!
Seriously, that one is going to be special. Once it lands it’ll become highly sought after. 🔥
I always recommend Etherfields to just about everyone! Such a great game. So unique and engaging.
Agreed! Reviews hit it hard for it's initial barrier to entry but those of us playing the game are enjoying it. ;D
@@RollingSolo I also have not binged the game so slumbers haven’t been an issue for me. As a matter of fact, slumbers change immensely as you progress through the game and I can’t imagine slumbers not being part of the game.
I can't wait to try it !!! I'm on a single shipment for LANG version... I will probably have it in 2023 :(
@@christian_daigle oh, man! I understand. Our wave 2 has been delayed until next year March/April. I know the Lang edition has taken forever. When you do get it, take your time and enjoy it! It really is a phenomenal game! I heard that the Lang edition should be releasing soon so hopefully you won’t have to wait long! Take care!
Just finished the core campaign, love it
A Touch of Evil has obviously been mentioned many times.
I think Betrayal is missing. B-Movie horror and fun. awesome game
Hey Mits! Love this mention and have had a lot of fun with this one too. A classic!
My favorite Horror game is MONOPOLY, its real creepy how it can drag on !
That game wins hands down. As I read this I broke out into a sweat 😅
I don't have 15 because I hate horror in general but my number one exception and favorite solo game of all time is after the virus
Ah! One I haven’t played here. Thanks for letting me know 😄
@@RollingSolo haha try it man you will love it
I shall do a BGG search!
I expected to see Kingdom Death in there! Coincidentally I watched this immediately after starting my first new campaign in a long while. I just finished incorporating the 1.6 update pack into my copy a couple days ago.
Got my update pack as well for 1.6! Was nice to see something land in the mail for KDM ;p
Thanks for watching and sounds like we have some SoB KS stuff coming in the near future haha
And Deranged?
Haven’t heard of that one!
@@RollingSolo search it, it great!
Another (for the honorable mention category) could be Hel: The Last Saga; another title from Mythic Games.
Yes indeed! That would fit the bill 100%. Thanks for that mention Claude. I'm looking forward to that one landing as well :)
Yep, I've got both Hel: TLS and Darkest Dungeon coming (hopefully) next year. Can't wait!
Haven't seen Lobotomy mentioned so...gonna mention it.
Great mention Lynn! Thanks for checking out the video. Any future ones of interest?
I have only played one that is on your list..Zombicide :Black Plague. I am interested in Horrified American Monsters and Cthulhu Death May Die.
Just played DMD tonight with a friend. Still love it! It’s a great one. 😄👌🏼
@@RollingSolo it's on my to get list
I think you’ll enjoy it. It’s great being able to mix and match a scenario with an Elder God to change up a scenario.
Thanks for watching!
I would add Alien: Fate of the Nostromo and Ghostbusters: Blackout to the list.
People will appreciate those two being mentioned! ☝🏼
The Others?
Nice! Solid mention there. Thanks for watching Kesavan. Any future ones of interest? :)
Lastly, Tales of Evil, which is a lighter yet extremely fun and social (so doesn’t
T shine as solo game), kids-on-bikes-RPG board game. An honourable mention from me goes to The Faceless. Despite the horrible Kickstarter delivery there is still a pretty fun, light and tricky board game with some great tension building.
Nemesis I’m never going to get rid of. Such a great game. So many ways to die haha 🤣
Awesome extra ones there too!
@@RollingSolo I forgot to mention Abomination- Heir of Frankenstein is perfectly themed too!
Excellent!
@@RollingSolo it would be great to see a solo play through of Abomination.
I don't have much horror theme games. The only one that could qualify is Tainted Grail :)
Nice choice! The theme certainly fits. It’s no cake walk. Thanks for watching Jessica 👏🏼
No Camp Grizzly?!!?
Hey DB! Not on my list but doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be on yours. Any future ones of interest too?
Welcome back (a little late) haha
Nice picks as well. Thanks for sharing those with us all. Cheers!
Man I am so sad I missed out on Final Girl Kickstarter.
Van Ryder Games is great at picking up things later on. It’ll be behind just crowdfunding. 👍🏼
I wish they just rethemed Hostage Negotiator as Horror. FG now has bloated fiddly turns, slow pace and zero reward for time
yeah, a touch of Evil..... and no one has said "the others" ... totally under rated and superior to Cuthulu DMD in my opinion. Witches of Salem also more Halloween themed than some of these, and of of the troubled "Legends of Sleepy Hollow" that has one of the best ever play thoughs on On Table Top...
Ooo The Others. I haven’t played that one but had been tempted to pick it up. That one has a fan made solo variant correct?
@@RollingSolo ohhhhh of course, yes there was a fan made variant - but when ever i see Death may die, i think the others so sorry yes, - of course its not a solo game, but yes there was a fan made solo mode.
Ah yes! Very cool. 👍🏼
Hey Alan there are so many, aren't they? Let's add something lighter for the kids Halloween Scooby-Doo: Escape from the Haunted Mansion :)
There’s a ton! It was hard to crunch this list down to 15. I could have easily done 20. Good idea! As I have very young kids, I can appreciate those games. 🎃
All the board games are in horror genre for me, I don't have enough money to buy them all 😂
Fair point! Well this list is right in your wheelhouse. Any others you’d add?
A Touch of Evil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍
Super solid pick and landed on my honorable mentions in the pinned comment. Any future ones you’re interested in too? 😄
