Thanks! I’m always psyched to see new people joining me. I post videos every weekend, as well as the occasional shorts and I’m working on throwing in some mid-week videos as well.
Great little walk-though, I also am considering this because I wanted a cheap / compact pedal to put in front of the drives that can do shoegaze reverb and basic tremolo, phaser, or delay. If you end up doing a follow-up like you mentioned, I’d enjoy hearing what it sounds like in front of some analog drives. Also, good of you to fly the colors on such a nice-looking burgundy SG.
I’ve got two follow up videos planned currently. One of them is doing exactly what you’re asking for. The other is showing how the preamps sound with an IR loader so keep an eye out! And thanks! Support matters!
The new stomp you want for gaze is the MS-70cdr+. It has no dirt sims but has a much larger library of reverbs, delays, and modulation effects. Check out the spaced out sounds of the Partical Reverb.
@Haze763 I’ve actually been eyeing the 70cdr+ recently. I don’t need any of the amps sims or drives, and I’ve heard some luscious sounds come from the 70.
That’s a good question. I really haven’t dug that deep into it. I know you can set up two identical patches, one with effects and one without, and basically toggle back and forth between them. I have another video dropping for this on Sunday going over the preamps with IRs. The next time I do one I’ll try to find the answer to this question though.
@@BMinusDemos ah, someone told me how to Do it; you can use the line selector aß an Master on/off effect. I really needed a Feature like this, since i want to use it live
Nice review... What do you think about the sound quality of the drives comparing to real pedals? I still have the old MS50 and just some of the drives are good. I am trying to decide if it worth to upgrade to this new model.... as it has less reverbs, delays and other effects. I have the MS70CDR too and it is great for making different patches (I am doing that at my small channel if you pass by..)
I’ve never played the original MS50, so I don’t know how the drives compare between the two units. I do think that for a digital pedal the drives in this are pretty good. The Rat model is really cool because you can blend in your clean signal which gives it a lot of depth and character. I’ll definitely swing by your channel!
The elephant in the room - original MS50G could be used as a both preamp, but *also as an amp sim*, and go straight into FOH. This one seem to have ampsim functionality removed, and has to either go in front of amp, or be coupled with an IR loader.
That’s interesting. I never used the original, but it does seem like version would need to be run with either an IR loader or with IRs in your DAW. It’s weird they would remove that feature for the newer version. Maybe I should dive into that a little more. I know there’s an app you can use with it that I haven’t even touched. I wonder if maybe that would be how you manage IRs.
@@redtiesgang8366 I don't own it, but imo it will not sound good - because, as zoom states, it is *only* preamp now. Guess they did it to make people also buy their upcoming MS-80IR+ loader.🤷♂
Awesome giveaway. Best of luck on your goals! ☺️ Keep creating

Hey :) Do you know if there is an Option to turn off every effect in a Patch at once?

How does it sound without the opus, direct in the daw ?

@borisv8766 I didn’t know about their IR loader. That definitely makes sense now lol
@redtiesgang8366 I’ve actually not tried it. I would imagine it’d sound fine as long as you also load an IR into your DAW.
