It was deeper than that. A lot of it wasn't ratings in their eyes... these were guys that took it to heart, the white folk poaching them for bread were the ones that take it lightly. These were mostly authentic thorough hood dudes that heard difficult in themselves

^true... Pac's formula was good for the 90's, but we're in a whole new world now. 90% of what he said is still valid and with a little work most of his ideas can be recycled but for the kill or be killed money rules thing. that paradigm is recently outdated.

Keith Murray, in my personal opinion could of been as Big as Redman or Erick Sermon as he had the "IT" Factor. The problem was he was always getting into trouble with mad people. It's ashamed he's more known for being a loose cannon that an artist. Guy had so many skills.

I also had an immense respect for Keith Murray for the simple fact that he put a lot of thought into his rhymes. it's good that he cleared out the 2Pac rumors. But still the song "I Shot Ya" was a clear indication of the tension between east and west at the time; so many indirects including Keith starting off his verse with "I'm here to make a dollar outta 15 cent" which is a line that Pac used in his music, almost mocking Pac. For Keith to say that song wasn't aimed at Pac or the west coast in general kinda sounds like back peddling to me.

It's not even a opinion that 2pac is the G.O.A.T it became a Fact through people vote in Vibe & Source Magazine. His Knowledge was beyond any hip hop artist ever, his political understanding and influence in the world, yes the world ( countries in Africa, India, South American and Canada) put him under F.B.I surveillance ( watch/or read F.B.I. surveillance on black panthers and Tupac. on RUclips) That being said a lot of Tupac rapping was from books he had read, that's how he came up with the alias name Makaveli, which was a good book, and my opinion you not a Tupac fan if you never read Makaveli.

fooloof Washington Post, New York Times, Suns, USA Todays, Etc....All News media and Social network, Newspapers are all bull,... You Right, no denying that!! However people back in 1999 was able to send in a vote through the Magazines to select your choice of the Number 1 Hip-Hop Artist ( I think it was, 1 thru. 100), and with no surprise Pac was voted number one with no controversy. You can go online and put in the "Number one Rapper in history", I'm sure Pac will be number one. That being said my generation was influence by his political views and the power he preach through the music. Watch the RUclips movie I suggested you will find it educational brother. MUCH LOVE.

fooloof You must be young a dumb and have a IQ lower than plant life .... I don't care what you think, What I had said is a FACT, all you have to do is type it in a Web Browser "who is the greatest hip hop artist of all time", and you will see his name 90% of the time as #1......Hell!!!! President George Washington was our first President but don't make him the best..However, damn near the world hip hop population think he is the G.O.A.T. Stupid ass, I'm not going to respond to your next comment. My Grandfather told me if you argue with a fool people from a distance be wondering who is the fool. THE END!

Freddie Mills It is not even an opinion,it is a fallacious one, much less fact.He was an extraordinary person, that has very little bearing on his MCing skills. He is barely in the top 20.Charisma and energy are not lyrical and flowing aptitude.BTW the original is called Machiavelli

Rob B LL is the guy the made the song. Keith was featured on the song. Pac and Keith squashed the beef. Redman and Onyx was there and witnessed it. I'm sure Pac and LL squashed their beef. LL talked about it. And there's a picture of Pac sitting in front of LL at the MTV Music Awards. There's no news about them having a scuffle after the show.

Nas copied everyone's style at least once. "Style biting" as they would say. I mean don't get me wrong, lyrically he's good but he's not an innovator. He's a follower. Whereas 2Pac was a genius in his craft, the man was a revolutionary, a leader, a thinker. People love him because his music came from the heart and it inspired people. That's the main reason why people appreciate his music. No one gives a fuck about the complicated lyrical shit. Cool, it's a good skill to have if you can string metaphors together and whatever but people don't care about that as much as the words you are saying and the meanings you are conveying and 2Pac excelled in that. Still, if you insist Nas is better than Pac, Pac had way more better tracks than Nas has made and 2Pac is known all over the world, no one even knows who Nas is.

sabih Your saying that ELIJAH AND FARRAKHAN ARE revolutionary IS CLEARLY SHOWING A LACK OF SEEING PAST THE FAÇADE... ITS A KNOWN AND PROVEN FACT THAT BOTH THOSE MEN WERE INVOLVED IN THE ASSASSINATION OF MALCOLM...COINTELPRO TARGETED.. BOB MARLEY... MALCOLM X...HUEY NEWTON... MARCUS GARVEY... AND YES...TUPAC AMARU SHAKUR...IM FAR FROM A SCHOLAR.. BUT FACTS ARE FACTS AND THE FEDS WANTED PAC OUT THE WAY...BECAUSE HE WAS A THREAT.. HIS FAMILY TREE IS ALL TOP LEVEL REVOLUTIONARIES..AND TO SAY HE WAS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE TO THE BETTERMENT OF MENTALITY ENSLAVED PEOPLE IS IN MY VIEW TOTALLY FALSE...KILLUMINATI???..HE LIVED THAT SHIT...TO HIM AND ANYONE WHO DOES THE MATH..THAT ILLUMINATI SHIT IS A WAY TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM STRIVING TO ADVANCE AND TO SEEK KNOWLEDGE.. BECAUSE " THEY RUN THE WORLD AND IF YOU AINT DOWN WITH THEM YOU HAVE NO CHANCE..."..HE WANTED PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT THE POTENTIAL IS INSIDE YOU AND TO STRIVE FOR THE TOP...REGARDLESS OF WHAT'S IN YOUR WAY...PEACE!

I was there when this went down. It was not a fight but some verbal jabs. It was at the House of Blues on Sunset for a show Onyx was headlining. EPMD performed, Das Efx, Redman and Keith Murray. That night was crazy cos there were full of Hip Hop artists. Pac came in somewhere in between the performances with at least 10-15 dudes deep. I did not hear exactly what was said but from some of the people/artists that were around themat that moment, Keith was already lit as last I had seen him he had 2 bottles of Heineken tucked in his letterman jacket and he approached Pac saying something to the effect of "I'm on your side of the coast now, what's good?"...Redman jumped in between them as some pushing ensued and that was it...they smoked it up at the end of the night while Onyx performed. Pac and Keith Murray ended up in the 2nd floor (Hospitality/VIP Balcony) watching the show as well as the Foundation Room. It was never a fight.
