Will you be picking up Alone In The Dark? 👀
No, until it’s on sale perhaps.
Nope
Not anymore I won't!
Funny thing with all the hype around Silent Hill I actually picked up that SH ps3 collection and have been playing that.. However I really liked the demo for this.. But may save for Halloween or something.. Besides the new Dragons Dogma is dropping so that will probably be my main go to this spring.. Maybe even summer
Hmmmmm maybe sales perhaps
I was already worried when they first showed the combat... I might buy the game eventually when it's on sale for like $25/$30. Doesn't seem worth it full price
I'd wait until Black Friday and most definitely catch a good deal.
It's worth it if you like puzzles and exploration. Combat is very mediocre and not that challenging. So, if you like games that are challenging combat wise, it's probably not the one for you.
Does this game have HDR for ps5?
I may buy the game when price is cut to third of launch price so we pay what the game and final product is really worth $20 max
the complaint about both complains being tthe same is the same complain i had for re 2 remake i wonder if these guy call it out when re 2 remkae suffer from same problem where scenrio b makes no sense with fighting the same boss in same location as scenrio a
The scenarios are quite hugely different from one another in re2 remake though
@@louiscraik9385 no it’s sucked and the original re 2 did it a millions times better
@louiscraik9385 re2r is my favorite RE game and one of my all time favs, but the scenarios are basically the same. Really not much difference besides enemy placement.
@@MsSaskue360 not saying the og wasn’t better but RE2 REmake was fire! Sounds like someone never played the remake tbh
@@CommaderRockwell it’s my fave too but I’m telling you there’s huge differences. Not just “character placement” Leon and Claire’s Stories are quite different. They have different bosses, different side characters. Different places to explore. So yeah, there’s a lot of differences compared to the Alone in the Dark remake where nothings really changed between scenarios. Different puzzles too. Plus you play as sherry in Claire’s and Ada in Leon’s.
The Chant was a pleasure to play without being a big horror title. I think the story, themes, jazz music, unusual environments and atmosphere will see this worth a play or two with 15 hours or so for two playthroughs from different character perspectives/ experiences (something the RE2 remake did a very sloppy job of providing in an otherwise brilliant game).
Lots of big games releasing but always got room for a slice of horror in my gaming stomach.
I'll tell you all this.
Play the game if you're someone who likes old school Resident Evil and doesn't care about combat. The game is mostly about puzzles and exploration, which I personally love. But if you're someone looking for a challenge gameplay wise, this may not be the one for you.
Can I suggest that if you do console reviews, could you have a section that highlights console performance. Judging from this video, I can only guess this game is playing at sub 60, probably 30fps. Hopefully I'm wrong as there doesn't seem to be any reason foe this game to perform at 30.
Might get it when its in sale I really liked the original game tho
I think it actually looks pretty good, just not 60 dollars good..... I'm conflicted. Gman made it sound a lot better than other reviews I've seen
Yeah, I think it would probably be a better value at $40. I'm choosing to support it regardless, because I want more games like this in the AA space.
Third review I've seen. Third 6/10.
Don’t trust reviews my dude. If it review bombs just wait for a sale and try it. That’s what I do.
@@IEatColdBurritosNah its really not a great game at all
@@Onizuka2077 it doesn’t look amazing from what I’ve seen. But then again most games now just look disappointing to me. You played it yet?
How long is it?
7-8h
Oof
2 inches
From the floor
This is a wait for a heavy discount or to be added to PS plus game for me. Same as Outcast lol 😂😂
Outcasts looks better
@@caseyblankenship987 looks worse than this to be honest.
outcast 2 demo was fun
@@lutfy198104 you and I didn’t play the demo. The demo was horrendous lmao. Horrible graphics, janky controls and trash voice acting lol.
@hakangokhan9434 I did play the demo and I enjoyed so speak for yourself
ppl give this everything from 6-8 so a 7 or 73% i think its fair to estimate it to be which is ok...however if this is TRULY a 6 which means 60% it is NOT worth picking up so...
It’s a damn shame (but not unexpected) that the two protagonists have more or less the same campaign. It’s modern design laziness/constrained budgeting(?) that sounds similar to what happened to the re2 remake.
it's not that great, and it's still the best Alone in the Dark title since the 90s games.
It's kinda sad that this franchise never received the love it deserved.
I’m so relieved that I canceled my preorder.😂
I'm impressed they have released a "reboot/remake" of this game like 3 times now and they still can't get it right.
I don't know what is it with survival horror games now but their lack of understanding of feedback and weight for combat/shooting is appalling. Even older games had better results in those regards.
Who can look at those attack animations and thing they are good enough for a game? They look how you feel while punching in a dream!
The guns look weightless and sound worse. The whole effect of a gunshot on the enemy is some blood texture, as if decals where never invented.
I was excitedly waiting for this game, but the more I see about it the less it interests me.
Actually this is the only reboot. The New Nighmare was a sequel to the first 3 games. The 2008 game was also a sequel to the first 3 games, only retconned the 4th one.
@@Jenema2correct. what is the original comment talkin bout ha.
@@mvrtinxz650His familiarity with the franchise may leave something to be desired, but his critique of the combat was on point.
@@PowderedVoltage yea. most survival horror games have clunky combat. that is true.
Is that Villanelle?👀
Still better then callisto protocol.
that game is good tho. especially now that u can get it for cheap. dlc sucks tho. dont play that.
I've just started playing cellist protocol thanks to ps plus and I'm really enjoying it.
+1 That Callisto Protocol is actually a really good game.
Another review joins the 6/10 club.
It's a Survival Horror game why you gotta sum it up so weird? . .
Don't buy it on the ps5 yet, the sound drops in almost every segment and makes the game unplayable. Until they fix it don't buy it, I had to just give up after it happened three times and the sound will not return, until a hot fix is made I wouldn't touch this
30 seconds in and I know to save my money. Now THAT'S how it's done.
Bro said ps1 original 😂
I don't get it, you guys give it a 6/10 despite saying its awful and say that a few post-launch patches would make it better. Sounds like a 4/10 to me.
It’s just a number
@@Killerboyh I agree but numbers have meaning and I'm debating that.
What you dont get is how reviews work 👍
He said combat is awful. However the puzzles are what keeps the game interesting. So the game is enjoyable enough for a 6. If the puzzles were boring it probably would have got a 4.
the devs wants them to give it a 8 and they want to give it a four so , hey maybe they are paid to not give it under 6...? as a middle ground deal or something?
Im seeing reviews everywhere that the game is mediocre which is sad
Glad I didn't pre order this one!
This looks like a ps4 era release.
PS4 era? You gotta be shitting me lol. This looks like from the X360 era and even that is being generous
@@CheckmateStallioNYou do know this isn't a AAA game right? This was a smaller studio effort, likely made on a shoestring budget. Expectations should be adjusted with that in mind.
Now, if you want to argue that a AA game like this is overpriced at $60, then I would tend to agree.
The industry is dying a slow death and thousands are losing their jobs.
Deservedly so if pushing out tosh like this.
@@R1ckmisterwhat’s the point in small studios trying, if their hard work is labelled as trash by people who haven’t even played their game. I blame mongos like AngryJoe for this toxic gamer culture.
The writers strike really killed everything too. With the big studios not making anything, we’re going to see more shutdowns as the year passes.
I had high hopes for this when it was first announced but it looks awful. Stiff character movement and combat.
Wow looks pretty bad. I'll wait for a 19.99 sale or 9.99
.99 😂
Alone in the Dark has always, ALWAYS been 3rd fiddle behind RE and Silent Hill. It's like a poor man's version of a copycat that does nothing from either RE or SH, well.
Its roots are way before Resident evil and silent hill , the original game had never seen polygon graphics and immersion in 1992 it’s just in the wrong hands and needs to be as original as it was back in 1992 . seems you are never "alone in the dark " here in the derceto manor and needs more of that mystical vodoo vibe
@@GAMERGUSTO Yeah i know it came before RE. What i mean't was, instead of innovating over the years and having RE and SH follow, it reversed course and let RE show it up in nearly every way and now AITD is the one copying tropes from the other 2 big games, which is said since AITD was basically the first 'survival horror' title.
Looks like a 1/10. These X360 graphics have no place in 2024
I knew this game was going to be ass
This is a bafflingly bad review.
The guys think that the developers decided to let two protagonists be chosen to play, but in reality it was just to insert a woman into the game to please the woke crowd, just like Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake is phenomenal game though, imo at least.
@@AmariMarvelous the original is great
"like the ps1 original"? Kid... pls stop doing whatever you are doing and change professions.
