    So maybe the fire wasn't spectacular for the video work that you do, but it's more than seeing fire that makes your videos interesting. I love seeing how the fearless firefighters work together as a unit and get the job done. Thank you, Sir, for sharing yet another educational video.

    The Lithium battery issue is something that ALL fire departments should have programs in place to combat these fires. The batteries and chargers just start as fire, no smoldering, and a hot fire. Great coverage, and showing what these batteries can create.

      I’m wondering if anyone knows if these e battery fires are hotter than sprinkler systems can handle?

    • @caroleknappsmith9010
      @caroleknappsmith9010 10 месяцев назад +1

      I believe I have seen use foam to help fight and smother their fire itself.

    • @gregglynn3763
      @gregglynn3763 10 месяцев назад +1

      The video I've seen looks like the sparks and fire are almost like a sparkler and that is definitely hotter and faster evolving into a bigger than what you would call a normal fire. And NO fire in any case is normal.

      Here in PA my dept just did a class these E batteries. These are no joke fires, they showed a video of e batteries burning in a dumpster and the water needed to put the fire out was insane. Multi tankers were needed.

    • @pamd.happykat8187
      @pamd.happykat8187 10 месяцев назад

      @@shawnmartin9112 I read an article awhile back about an electric car that caught fire. They used a backhoe and put it in the ground, covered it up. When they went to get it out later, (don't remember how long it was) it was still smoldering! Sometimes they just can't be put out. (And it all started with the batteries.)

    I have no answers! But, something has to be done to regulate these, simply, incendiary devices! The apparent lack of action regarding the potential, or actual, loss of life and property (not to mention the costs to the city) from these L-ion Batteries is beyond unacceptable. It is unconscionable and close to governmental negligence. I know, we are not supposed to discuss political issues (and I agree). But, these devices have highly risked our beloved FDNY! Enough said! An almost terrible fire knocked down quickly and safely by the members! Great coverage, JJ!

    So hard to fight a fire that runs up the walls. There was sure a lot of smoke with that one.
    I love your kitty, JJ! Watching over that radio very well, isn't he? I have 4 kitties that have saved my sanity several times! One of them, named Yuki, also sniffs out heart attacks; she's done it pretty much every time I've had one.
    I had a kitty that looked a lot like yours when I was a kid. His name was also Smokey.
    Stay safe out there, my friend.

    FYI When fire is continuing up the walls. " Balloon frame construction is a building technique that was used extensively in the US during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This technique involves using long, continuous studs that run the entire height of the building, from foundation to roof".

    Lithium batteries have caused fires for many years. The problem is few people have recognized the danger & have brought large LBs into homes & businesses without a plan to protect against explosions caused by overheating. The faster a battery is recharged, the hotter it gets. Da, right. I think most of us know that. The default recharge must be slow unless the device is supervised during rapid recharging.

    Several things. First once again excellent coverage JJ. Two I'm definitely on your side with these large Li-Ion batteries. Manufacture for consumer use needs to be halted until this now plainly obvious issue with thermal runaway is fixed. Ebikes, electric cars and buses, and other equipment that uses these large Li-Ion batteries needs to be banned from use or charging until the issue is resolved as well. Last thing is how are you handling things right now I mean about coping with Dean's passing? You still hanging in there?
