No bait. They are attracted to the scent of other armadillos. Unless you get a scented trap, it will take a while to catch the first armadillo. Once you catch one, leave it in the trap for 8-12 hours to let it put its scent into the trap. You will catch them more frequently afterward. The more you catch, the better it works.

Look up The Armadillo Trap online. It's a guy in Mississippi who makes them. Read all the tips and follow the instructions. They work very well.
