which, tentacruel does look like a mushroom so it's not a stretch to think that two people could come up with that idea
and the pink blob is just a pink blob, i can think of so many other things that look like bellibolt due to it's extremely simple body shape (like another pokemon, chansey and blissey)

In about the eighth grade I had created a Pokemon region whose whole gimmick would've been special stones that *change a Pokemon's type* by using *time travel* to access a Pokemon's *ancient ancestors*...

For me it was the bug/ice type moth pokemon way before sword and shield were announced xD I remember drawing the designs on my 3DS and naming them Shiverback and Frostbite... Snom and Frostmoth are way better names tho lol

Frostbite would be a cool name for an Ice/Dark type pokemon based on some evil husky or something like that (or basically a Houndoom regional variant)

I also made an ice butterfly.
The evolution line was meant to be an early-game bug pokemon, named Colderpillar, Icicoon, and Frostyfly.
They existed before Frosmoth and Snom, and I do admit my designs may have been lackluster, but a crazy detail I got was the blue-green eyes of Frosmoth kinda matched with Frostyfly's eye colors.
For me it was: wolves with weapons that make sense for the tech in the Pokémon world (before sword and shield), and a growlithe variant with floofy fur (before legends arcoos, after sword and shield, it had a helmet-looking thing on its head though, dont ask me why)
Edit: also, when i was thinking of the growlithe, the legends were going to be LIZARDS OH COME ON (one wasn’t a robot)
These content creators be producing 1000+ drawings per second, it’s obvious that at some point there is going to be a coincidence

I had an idea for a regional Zoroark that looked pretty similar to Hisuian Zoroark. It even had the same color scheme. And this was years before legends Arceus.
Crazy how many times this has happened! It kind of happened to me with the water bird of my Starter trio as well looking a bit like Quaxly. I released the video and had to add an addendum to it like "I'm sorry, I didn't copy Gamefreak's homework, I promise"

Back in April last year I made a regional bird that has 3 different color forms and it was basically the same thing as Squawkabilly, which makes me like the real Pokemon a lot more than most people would
I predicted Scovillain precisely. A fire / grass type pepper mon with two heads. Only difference was I named it Scovile and gave it more lizard like qualities with the FlashFire ability

I forget what I was brainstorming but… I had this random idea of a second Sun/Moon game. In my head I decided on “Ultra” Sun and “Ultra” Moon. This idea was in my head around the *release* of Sun/Moon.
I had a very similar experience with Sword/Shield. When I was in 1st grade I made a Pokémon I called Inchburn, and it was an inch worm that breathed fire.
Fast forward to 7 years later, Sizilipede.
Steel ball with grass thorns was mine.
I grew up around a lot pine trees when introduced to Pokémon Blue.
I remember as a kid suddenly looking at my brother thinking of the game names and saying "ruby/sapphire, black/white, fire/leaf i swear theyll make "sun and moon" eventually".
Blew my mind when i actually saw it years later
No joke, I suffered this same situation with Cresscelia. I had 2 floating, swan-like creatures that were decorated with planetary rings. One red and gold, the other pink and blue. And oh boy, oh boy! I was a highly conflicted little teen when I got Pokemon Diamond and realised my idea had already been taken :(
For me I had the idea for a truffle smelling pig then we had Lechonk I have a dung beetle that is a reference to Atlas and while not the same we see Rellor and Rabsca i swear if we get a hippo starter next I’m calling a lawyer

I remember reading through the first Pokemon Annual for the first time (which I got second-hand near the end of gen 3) and convincing myself that Raichu could fly by surfing on its tail. Several years later, Alolan Raichu.
Ive been coming up with a pokemon region for fun in my spare time and had a lot of the same things happen. The fire starter i cane up with was a reptile with a skeleton theme that became fire/ghost by its final stage. There was also an ice/dragon pseudo legendary that i came up with before i ever learned about Baxcalibur. I even made a steel/ghost type based on coins, though mine wasnt a mimic.
With so many mons and so many fakemon makers theres bound to be some overlap. Good to finally see a creator not accusing gf of stealing designs
I rememebr being 11 and coming up with an Ambipom evolution called Ambipunch, which was just Ambipom but even angrier. Still waiting on that evolution

The Litwick and Patrat lines were remarkably similar to fakemon I had made as a child.
a couple months ago i designed a character that looked pretty similar to armarouge, thought it wasn't intended to be a pokemon. it even had the same pose when armarouge uses armor cannon
I had a similar thing when Overwatch released. Reinhardt’s head looks almost one to one like a character I designed for my own stories when I was seven so like over a decade before OW1 even came out but man the coincidence is scary

RUclips keeps barraging me with Honkai Impact ads showcasing a character with a similar concept, design, and even EXACT SAME NAME as a character that I made up from a dream I had as a kid, so, I know this feeling well
To be fair almost everyone and their mother had a dolphin fakemon.
I swear to all that is holy I came up with a haunted lawnmower in 2007 BEFORE Rotom got its alternate forms in Platinum
I had this too. I got a binch of creature ideas. Then gen 7 came around and used some of them. I had the idea of a woodpecker creature that evolves into a tocan creature. It is a pretty easy idea to make. Both birds are very closely related. Since a toucan has a big beak, it makes sense for one to be to higher stage. Then gen 7 has the Pikipeck line as the basic bird. It is the Alola version of Pidgey.
I was really into horses. That was a time when My Little Pony was on air, and it was super famous. I had the idea of four kinds of horses representing four elements. Pegasus represent air, because it can fly. Hippocampus represents water, because it can swim. Unicorns represents fire. They use their horns to use gloing magic, the the glow is like a fire. Draft horses represent earth. I did get inspiration by the three main kind of ponies. There are pegasus ponies, unicorn ponies and earth ponies. Earth ponies look the most plain. However they have thier own special ability in being physically strong. The main example is Applejack. She is super strong and tough. She has a talent for apple farming. From that I elaborate more. In real life, draft horses are special kinds of horses that are extra storng. They are really big and muscular. They are useful for carrying heavy loads. In rare cases earth ponies can resemble draft horses. The show has Big Mackintosh and Trouble Shoes. The Brony fandom has Mad Munchkin in her pony form. I imagine that a string and tough horse can have magical elemental powers of the earth. Then Pokemon gen 7 comes around. It has a whole species based on this idea. It is Mudsdale. There is another coincidence in My Little Pony. The hippocampus was an obscure creature in Greek mythology. I did get the idea of adding it in as a fourth type of horse. I did have my own spin in making the creature more horselike. My version is mostly horse. It just has a fish tail with long hair instead of a regular horse tail. There were no hippocampi in My Little Pony at all. Then they showed up in the movie befor season 8. That was after I came up with a hippcampus. The show had hippogriffs that turn into hippocampus. Coincidently the brony Silver Quill has been using a hyppogriff OC in his RUclips videos log before the movie. I did come up with my own version of an ultimite horse. It is like an alicorn but even more impresive. The ultimite horse has a horn, wings, fish tail and bulky body. I did come up with an ultimite dragon too. I thought of them as a duo. The hose is associated with light and sun. The dragon is associated with dark and moon. The horse is white with some gold and red. Then gen 7 has Solgaleo. That is pretty much the same thing. Granted it is a lion instead of a horse. Otherwise, the two are similar. Maybe horse and lion are alike because they are the two main mammals with manes. Lunala is pretty similar to my dragon idea.
I remember I had old ideas when I was an adolescent. Those eventually got used in later generations. I did get an idea of a starter trio. The grass starter is a rodent. The fire starter is a lion. The water starter is a penguin. All these came to pass. The penguin was in gen 4. The other two were in gen 6. The Lion wasn't a starter in gen 6 but it still counts. I also had the idea of Team Plasma as an evil team. It is like Teams Aqua and Magma. However it is focused on electricity and air. It is a team that would be huge fans of Rayquaza. The first Mystery Dungeon games came out. I played the version compatible with the older kind of version. I think it was the red version. In the game, one can name thier rescue team. So I named mine Team Plasma. Later on gen 5 came. Then Team Plasma became an official evil team in Pokemon. At least this time there was a new spin. This team isn't preoccupied with the sky or anything like that. Instead it became a spoof on PETA.
Speaking of remoraid evolution,i imagine a final form called ramarine and It would be a hammerhead shark and its back fins would look like landing gear and upward facing wings on a fighter plane, and its eyes would be where the propellers are

I had the idea of a zone that was the past version of the main region of the first game, with prehistoric versions of pokemon being called cretalin versions, like alolan, and it was called the cretala region, like cretacious. I actually thought it out, and for the final boss a mew would get corrupted by a type of tar that turns pokemon into evil poison type versions, making a cretalin mewtwo. I legitimately thought this was the coolest.
I have proof that I came up with the idea of a twin tailed otter before Pokemon did, and Buizel even has the same muzzle shape I gave him.

One of the fakemon I made before the games the version exclusive knights were revealed was a ghost type knight that just happened to have swords for arms. How did I predict Ceruledge? I dont know.

When I was in around 6th grade I had an idea of a Pokémon game that took place before humans and Pokèmon coexisted in peace and your character could be attacked by wild Pokémon. Not exactly like Legends Arceus but definitely very similar
Back in HGSS days, I was doing my own pokemon thing, my grass starter was a vine snake, but it grew a second head, with the final evolution having three heads, with one head being the more dominant than the other two. (Snivy/Hydregon line)
I actually made a gimmick for my own Pokémon region and the gimmick was Pokémon being able to become crystal like and their stats would be raised and then a month later or something like that Pokémon revealed the gimmick for Scarlet and Violet

I drew a fakemon named gilleghoul, it was a ghost fossil axolotl pokemon, months later they come out with gimmeghoul, *IT WAS TWO LETTERS SHORT FROM AN ACTUAL POKEMON REVEALED MONTHS AFTERWARDS*
I came up with a pokemon called Batteiree that was an electric/dark bat. because that type combination didn't exist yet.
Then pretty soon after, one of the best characters in the series and their pika-clone ace were revealed.
I remember when XY came out for the cards, I remember designing Deoyxs and Arceus EX and then my family sent it to Nintendo. Tag Teams came out

Fungacool and Fungacruel could still make for very cool regional variants of the Toedscool line

And yet there're still no spinosaur fossil mons. Or ankylosaur fossil mons. Or stegosaur fossil mons. Or hadrosaur fossil mons. Or ornithomimid fossil mons. Or even proper dromeosaur fossil mons (Archeops, while resembling dromeosaurs, is more clearly based off of Archeopteryx, which, although closely related to them, is not a dromeosaur).

@@christiancinnabars1402the idea is that there are probably fakemon artists that have made fakemon artists based on all those dinosaurs, so if Game Freak decides to eventually make fossil mons based off of them they wouldn't be the first.
My brother and I kinda predicted mega evolution and primal reversion (most PR). A bit after Diamond and Pearl, we both respectively drew primal palkia and dialga which was supposed to be a more ancient and powerful version

Well I've only so far only made a ghost type eeveelution that evolves through a stone that kills it and sucks up it's soul and then spits it out in physical form, so if that is released then I will suspect that Gamefreak is stalking me

Kind of a stretch, but ever since the Gold & Silver Spaceworld Demo leaks I had always wanted a Wooper evolution that stuck closer to Wooper’s beta sprite (Woopuppy as I like to call it). You can imagine how hard I popped off when I heard leak season hints about Clodsire.
The remoraid Evo has me ON. I love it.
One day, they'll make a pokemon region, new land, new gimmick, everything. Then they'll go to bed, waiting until morning to post the region, only for GameFreak to have posted exactly the same thing in the night.
I guess with how big the fandom is, Game Freak will most likely have some similar ideas.
