    About Simple Little Life:
    This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:
    Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.
    Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.

    Good information. They come in handy, and the cut off discs are used often in my shop. I don't think the average user realizes how dangerous a cut off can be. I've had them explode on me. A coworker had the guard off a right angle grinder for some stupid reason cutting stainless sheet. When the disc hung up and kicked back, it didn't stop till it was a half inch in his finger.

    What is the smallest air compressor i can buy for use with a die grinder? I don't have the budget or room for a huge one looking for the lower end but something that will still alow tool to work well

    I'm definitely guilty of using a cutoff disk on my 90°. I know it's stupid everytime I do it. Sometimes you just can't fit a proper cutoff grinder in certain spots...

    You’re hired coach. First off- I will absolutely be emailing you once I make my first knife. A few more tools to acquire first. Secondly- you had the follow before your cat showed up, but my gawd that helped and I so wanted to see you pet the kitty. Distracted at. Anyway, absolutely fantastic presentation. And that sign off tho- absolutely reminded me to follow.
    In the process of building out my own metal shop, I don’t know shit, and I’ve already got thousands of dollars of sales in one odd niche. Looking to expand, and well I’m pretty much gonna watch all your videos now. Thanks for being so dope!!!

    Where do you find the bits? It's hard enough to find die grinders, but finding the bits/burrs for 'em, especially when I know somewhere between diddle and squat about die grinders, is a challenge.
    So, if I were to pick up the Harbor Freight electric die grinder (or any other), what would you recommend as a "starting bit set"?

      John Sanford I recently got one at pawn shop, and it appears darn near the only place to get them is on Amazon. Look around on Amazon and look for good reviews. Just ordered my first bur recently..

    What can you tell about Milwaukee 5194 Die Grinder ??Is it any good for heavy duty work like cutting round lines over piping connection???Iam experienced with air version,however when using air die grinders their heads start rotating and untightening which position tool in realignment and it very hard to set them back so gears wont be loose or too tight..Never tried electric version before,another weakness with die grinders that their burrs or attachments have tendency to jump away from collet and come out loose...So far I think what wrong with die grinders,rather than that they does help a lot with heavy metal work,mostly deburring steel or cast iron...

    Will a 50L compressor work for the die grinders?

    • @AdamCraigOutdoors
      @AdamCraigOutdoors 7 лет назад +1

      more then likely. But most of the time you will start loosing "power" as the air is used up. If you are just doing small tasks i would say no problem. If you are doing "heavy" work you might get annoyed with waiting for the compressor to build up more air.

    do dremel type accessories fit this brand of grinders?

    • @Simplelittlelife
      @Simplelittlelife  3 года назад

      No, usually they are 1/4” shank and dremel ones are typically smaller than that.

    Is a 50 L air compressor enough for these? It can provide up to 170 L/min

    • @MINERAL-115
      @MINERAL-115 5 лет назад +1

      Easily. The smaller ones shown here operate between 20,000 and 25,000rpm and average around 13 CFM (about 60 L/min). Keep in mind that when under load they use more air to work through the friction, so it's entirely possible for them to stall if you're using an undersized tool for the work.

    • @CVP-og9pw
      @CVP-og9pw 5 лет назад +2

      @@MINERAL-115 thanks, i think i will try a small air grinder and use electric ones for bigger work
