Thank you, really helpful. I wish these were about half the price it's so hard to take the plunge on them (or the Loops) without knowing how well they'll work individually.
Sadly, I cannot comment personally on Loops, as I've never tried them, but I have heard from friends who have that they weren't very happy with them. A few switched over to the Flares. I'm certainly not a blind shill for them, I will say I tried the new Calmer 2 prototypes and was not a fan, much prefer the originals. I also much prefer their original foam earplugs, over the new style EarShade ones they have now - but a lot of that is I just have weird shaped ears, apparently, and none of them fit great. Have not had that issue with either the Calmer or Calmer Pros. Flare does have a 100 day return on all their products, too. So it's basically a risk free investment if it doesn't work out. Depending where oyu live, there are official resellers that sometimes stock them cheaper, too. We have Earjobs, here in Australia, that often has them on sale. And so does Flare, too. The first pair of Calmer's I bought I got half off for Black Friday.
I am so pleased that you've found something to help you. All that peripheral noise can be not only distracting but downright annoying. One of my current students can't stand the noise of pencil on paper and refuses to copy anything into his book so I am going to recommend them for him. Thank you so much!
Hi, thanks for the review. I'm curious, i have the regular ones and kinda of hear myself talking, is that less with the pro? Are you still enjoying them?
@@melissa-w2i3g do you mean internally or externally you hear yourself talking? These won't block your own voice like an earplug does, Flare does have earplugs that are amazing at that, but I can't really use them as for my work I have to talk all the time. The Pros I find are a bit better then the regulars, especially at reducing things like aircon noise, electrical noise, ambient voices in shops etc. the main reason I like the Pros is I find the fit a bit better, as the metal inside makes them a bit more firm. If you are happy with the originals, I honestly don't really think it's worth the big price increase for only a small difference, I got mine half off on sale so there wasn't much risk at the time
@@KyNiDo Thanks for your reply. Mine are comfortable but with conversation they have an underwater feel, where I hear myself talking "in my head" if that makes sense.
@@melissa-w2i3g Yeah, I get that :) I haven't experience that myself, though my wife struggles with that sometimes. Perhaps the Pro may help, as it's a firmer fit - it might be that the Calmers you're using aren't sitting in your ear properly and might be creating too much of a seal. They really shouldn't affect any internal noise, as they don't physically block the ear completely, like an ear plug. I've noticed voices sound a little "brighter" and more focused with the Pros compared to the regular Calmers, so maybe that would help. I will say, I'm not a fan at all of the Calmer 2. I bought the prototype a while back to try and just couldn't get a good fit for them. That said, they are a more traditional earplug style, so they could even be worth trying, maybe. The good thing is they have a great refund policy so there's never any harm in trying.
On Flare Audio's website, the Flare Calmer has a rating of 4.63 out of 5. To achieve that score, at least 90% of reviews need 5 stars. I just checked October reviews... and they are running at 2.77 I have included the review data below,. As shown, 55% of reviews in October were 1 or 2 stars. Like any product, especially health related ones, it's never going to be one solution fits all. I had used Flare's earplugs previously and not had a great experience with them - though that was more a personal issue of struggling with the fit and it cutting off too much noise. They definitely do offer refunds. I ordered a few months back the new Calmer 2 prototypes and was not happy with them at all, and returned them for a full refund, minus shipping cost. As I state many times in the video, this is 100% just my personal experience with them, as well as the experience of people in my life I've recommended them to - it's certainly not a 1 size fits all or a guarantee, just my own personal diatribe. There's no risk in trying for yourself, and just returning for a full refund if they don't work, they've got a 100 day money back guarantee, and most resellers will also offer refunds.
Thank you

Thanks for explaining - I had no idea that was your reason for wearing them. Sounds (haha, pardon the pun) like you've hit a winning solution 😊😊
