Forcing himself to kill innocent to protect his friends Riener and Annie had very rough too
In truth, Levi is an incredible character, I have always had a lot of admiration for him, he had a really painful past that he carries with him, he was basically born trying to survive in the subsurface, even as a little boy he had to accept the death of his mother. He fought to survive since he was a child, he even lost a second family with his comrades . In the Survey Corps he found a purpose to move forward and he passes that message on to the new generation cadets, accepting that he himself is a hope for humanity, I can't imagine the weight on his shoulders, he is very strong indeed. But he stands firm to be a hope for others by enduring many painful losses with a unique determination

Never thought the day would come that I'd hear LEVI of all people singing! Well okay technically it's his VA not really him but still! 😂Also really weird to hear him singing in a higher voice but not necessarily bad either, it sounds good still. The fact that this has the same melody as Reluctant Heroes is heartbreaking, I really think that song describes Levi (at least certain parts like "it was a nightmare") but it describes pretty much all of them too. Just in general, the experience of being soldier (or anybody that works in a high stakes environment like that where you see people often die). It makes me wonder if Isayama has any experience or knows somebody with experience in the military. He really captures (in this song and in the series as a whole) what it is to live and possibly die in such an environment. It's why soldiers have my utmost respect, because whether or not I agree with what our country is doing, they are just human beings doing what they think is right and they give their bodies, lives, and very souls to protect us and protect what they believe in. One small correction, at 2:37 I think it should be "assess your situation" not "access your situation", sorry. Thanks so much for uploading this though with translation, you did a great job! Back to Levi though, Isayama said himself that Levi is the most emotional character so that says a lot about him and the world they live in. He hides his emotions to protect both himself and others, but deep down you can tell he really is full of regret sadly, even when he says to not have any regrets. I think the "dark side of the moon" in this song represents not only what lay beyond the walls and the future of humanity (or at least the Eldians), but also it could refer to Levi's own often hidden emotions and heart. The "dark side" is the part that is never really seen, that is invisible to the naked eye, so to pierce it, to illuminate it (at least I assume that's what they're going for, since I heard "hikari" in there which means light) is to reveal the hidden secrets, the hidden world outside the walls, his hidden emotions. The pictures at 3:05 (of adult Levi kneeling in front of kid Levi) and at 3:35 (of Hange, Erwin, and Levi hugging) hurt the most. Gah, it's not fair! Poor Levi has been though so much, it's really not fair. I just hope he can find peace somehow now that it's all over, form new attachments and finally be able to rest easy knowing that it's finally over. The "dark side" is the part that is never really seen, that is invisible to the naked eye, so to pierce it, to illuminate it (at least I assume that's what they're going for, since I heard "hikari" in there which means light) is to reveal the hidden secrets, the hidden world outside the walls, his hidden emotions. The pictures at 3:05 (of adult Levi kneeling in front of kid Levi) and at 3:35 (of Hange, Erwin, and Levi hugging) hurt the most. Gah, it's not fair! Poor Levi has been though so much, it's really not fair. I just hope he can find peace somehow now that it's all over, form new attachments and finally be able to rest easy knowing that it's finally over. He doesn't have to risk his life anymore, he doesn't have to fight anymore, he doesn't have to worry about losing comrades anymore. It's finally over. 😭

Glad you like it! It's his official voice actor, but because the pitch of the song is quite high, I don't think he could maintain Levi's voice as well as he can while speaking.
