Thanks fam! I had my camera on the entire time, and shot 4K Raw and some slowmo footage.. not even one bar on that battery, so I can probably run for quite a while.. same with the Maschine hooked up. I need to grab another Ripcord so I can run the 404 as well.
Still a lot to learn about this camera, all the different codecs and compressions etc, but I really like it 😁. Been shooting my latest videos in 4K Raw and files are buttery smooth to work with.
@@BoombapArt cool, versatile machine that Maschine, is it more difficult to sync everything up that way then when you would use an external recording device? I know nothing John Snow 🤷♂️
It’s very versatile. Nah, wasn’t that bad. I could’ve recorded straight into the camera, but I like to have the files separately. In post it was one click to sync the audio with the right video clip.
@@BoombapArt Cool, thanks for the brief explanation, I like that 😉 as I said, I know (almost) nothing, so your way of to the point explaining - in the video mostly of course - is very handy for me, not to much twists and turns Confession time: you are the only beat maker I still watch on the RUclipss... I also follow Accurate, but he's more reviewing and whatever these days... which can be great of course for people who are doing the beat making thing, but not my cup of coffee 😂
Great video & beat ..and also good timing! Just planning to buy a portable speaker and a battery solution for my Plus for vacation and travelling. What portable speaker do you recommend? (or anyone else if they have any suggestions) - i'm looking for something that is battery powered and sounds great for beatmaking.
Thanks a lot man! I need to get a better speaker myself, I used my daughters $25 Bluetooth speaker. Was a bit hard to hear the bass properly 😬. The battery I’m using I have nothing to complain about, something I can run with my camera setup as well as talking outside for some beatmaking.
@@BoombapArt Coming from Ableton Live and Push 2, I would probably have gone for Machine Plus for a standalone solution as well. But the lack of battery and apparently dodgy performance kinda killed it for me. So I will probably wait it out for the Machine Plus 2 or the "Ableton Go", if these devices ever come out. The MPC platform is insanely powerful as well though, especially in the sampling department. It just takes more getting used to when you're coming from a DAW.
I hear you. I’m not a DAW person or out in the field type of guy, so for me it doesn’t really matter.. sure, would’ve been nice if the M+ had a built in battery. I haven’t experienced any issues with the M+, but I’m a simple beatmaker doing simple stuff so I guess I’m not pushing it to the max. Who knows what the future holds. Right now I’m happy with my M+ and 404MK2 as my main devices.
A battery, absolutely.. not sure about speakers. I wouldn’t mind to be able to just bring the unit and a pair of headphones. Now I have to bring the unit, a cable and a monster battery.. but I can live with that! We’ll see what NI has to offer in the future when it comes to standalone.
@@BoombapArt I started with Maschine mikro and mk3 but decided to ditch the mk3 and got into the mpc standalone unit. I really like the workflow of the maschine and the wide variety of sounds. I Was thinking of the maschine plus for a while but too expensive for me since I got the live 2 also. do you think if I pair the mpc live 2 with sp404 mk2 is much better or if i get the maschinr plus makes no sense to pair with the live 2?
This channel started with the MK3.. and for me coming from a “tracker” background the Maschine workflow made so much sense and I learned it really quick. I understand the joy of standalone now, not needing a computer and all that. In terms of value for the money and features the MPC One wins over Maschine Plus. I had no intentions on buying the plus, but I work with NI and they sent one.. and so far I haven’t experienced these complaints everyone throws around! If you already have the Live II I wouldn’t switch to Plus, but definitely worth paring with the 404! The 404 MK2 alone is worth the money whether you make beats, process sounds or pair it with other gear for performing.
@@BoombapArt Thank you for your honest response. I'll be looking into the sp404. I like how it sounds when you use it. keep doing your thing and all of your work is very good and clean.
It’s so versatile! Sure, a learning curve when it comes to make beats and chop samples.. but if you pair it with the Live II you can make the chops way faster and then sample them into the 404.. 👊🏻

BTW, tell me how you captured the sound in this amazing portable setup and I won't point out the spelling mistake in the vid 😆

This is exactly the reason why I ended up buying the MPC Live 2 instead of the Maschine Plus.
Not needing an extra battery to make beats, I get that.. but even tho I haven’t tried the Live 2.. I really like the Maschine workflow
