    Adam Norris, you have no idea what a great service you've done to students and teachers everywhere! Some of us can't learn as easily just reading a book and we don't understand the "main points". But, when I watch your videos, you make it so easy to understand how all parts of a chapter connect and what the big picture is. It's truly amazing what you do! Thank you so much!

    Thank you so much for this Adam. The APUSH teacher at my school doesn't explain things well, and before I found your videos I was making B's on test, but now I make A's using your videos. Everyone in my class considers you to be our real teacher. We really appreciate all of your videos.

    I've been studying from your videos for my past 4 tests in APUSH, my grades have been 94, 87, 92, and 100 as opposed to the 60's and 70's i was getting before i started using your videos. I've been recommending your videos to everyone in my class. They help me so much and i can't thank you enough for them you're literally a life saver hahaha!     Hi, thanks again for watching. In regards to your question, up until the early 1900s, horizontal integration was legal. It wasn't until 1911 (under President Taft) that Rockefeller's company was broken up. Pretty much until the Progressive era (Chapter 28 and 29), businesses were not held accountable for their actions (trusts, monopolies, horizontal integration, etc.) I hope that helped.     Early on I had decided not to take the APUSH exam because the biweekly tests on multiple chapters that my teacher does...I felt like I just couldn't keep up no matter how much I read the textbook. But now there's hope! and I definitely want to take the Exam in MAy...thank you so much super history teacher person! your humor and analytical breakdowns of the content really helps alot!

    So "vertical integration" meant that only one owner (Carnegie) managed the production while "horizontal integration" meant that the owner (Rockefeller) associated with other people to own several businesses within the oil industry?

    So you said that horizontal integration is illegal. What was really so bad about it? And how would that do with railroads if Rockefeller was an oil guy? (Great videos by the way, you make things a lot easier for me in my class!)

      The reason it was bad was because since Rockefeller controlled the oil industry, he decided the oil prices which ultimately hurts the consumers.
