I was browsing on different channels and really like your style it's beautiful and vintage very lovely, I love your pop up bible verse ❤️ I can't wait to watch more of your videos
Wait Robin I need to hear more! As in the distress ink pad? Food coloring on top? What type of food coloring gel or liquid? I have so many questions 😅😅😅
@@karatootieHi Ingrid, I guess I should've clarified that I did not use tape I used vellum. I took some wide strips of vellum, sporadically covered with vintage photo distress ink pad, then sprayed with some liquid yellow food coloring. I put the food coloring in a little spray bottle. I also have some old vintage photo distressed stain that has a dauber on the end, also used that and sprayed again with yellow liquid food coloring. I just played around with it until I liked the color. Side note, the velum will curl up, but after it dries you can straighten it out easily with your fingers. I use barely arts glue to attach it to my projects since the velum doesn't have a sticky side. You can tear the velum very easily to the size you want and create that jagged edge look.
I enjoy and appreciate ye sharing scripture with us !! As welll as spending time with ye !! This a wonderful and much less expensive way to make the tape !! I just cant seem to work well with alcohol inks and used GOLDEN transparent paint, which is expensive!! So again appreciate ye, your talents !@ god bless 😊❤
I remember AL John. Is she still on youtube? I had forgotten about her. She also did like a $5 dollar tree stock up thing. Each week she would buy things and if she didnt use the whole$5 then it was put back and added to the next weeks money. Neat series. Im gonna have to look her up again. Thanks for the reminder! Have a good day.

@karatootie Awww, sweetheart ❤️❤️ I'd be more than happy to give you my recipe for my alcohol and paint 'faux' ink, but there's really nuthin' to it except alcohol and cheap acrylic paint. It's been four-ish years since I mixed it up, but if I remember correctly, I used enough paint to turn the alcohol the same color - intensity-wise - as the paint, does that make sense? I think I even mixed up some opalescent paint, VERY cool! Easy peasy you GOT this!! 🤗🤗
I love Al John's channel ❤ Truly, this is the first video I've watched on aging tape, and making alcohol inks. Most all the other videos ive tried to watch, aren't easily explained so that a goober like myself can understand 😂❤
What papers did you use??? Those pinks are gorgeous! By the way, an easier way to do the tape is to colour it directly on and then mist gently with alcohol. It gives it a distress ink effect. 😊 Lovely project 😘
As in color it with the markers and then mist the alcohol?! What a genius idea! I’ll be honest about the papers, I cannot think where they’re from. I’ll have to do a little digging and I’ll let you know. They’re either from one of my kits on Etsy or one of my Patreon kits. I’m gonna have to ask around and get back to you! 🫶🏼💕
Ingrid! Your tag is gorgeous (no surprise)! I’d forgotten about the marker method of making ink. Question: was the medical tape you used the cloth kind, or the tissue-papery kind? I liked the aged effect on that tape. I also love the cellophane tape as well for this! Thanks again for your time, and sharing how you make your beautiful projects!🥰❤️😘
This was very interesting thank you😊❤you are so very clever would not have thought to put black and white checked ribbon on bow but its beautiful. I have the cloth type medical tape is that what you used?😊❤

I do have one somewhere 😅 I started using my scissors to show that it would work in lieu of the tool and I just stuck with it…I’ll have to go on the hunt for it because you’re right…it’s a really great tool! Ive been making my own alcohol inks with markers for years now... dying my papers, using stencils etc. very economical compared to the prices of the inks.
@@karatootie OHH, Fabulous!! So I use a flat bottom bucket from the dollar store... I can lay a sheet of paper flat... and I lay it in there.. and I lay the stencil over it... and I use the little spritz containers from the dollar store too... but the alcohol will eat the sprayers... they dont last long... and I do it out on my balcony, cause I use 90% iso . The drug store will give you a hard time buying it. LOL... they always do. Just tell them what youre doing with it. As I spray each one... I lay them out on the balcony to dry fast... dont do it in the house ... blow yourself up and get wasted off the fumes...lmao... at the end, the bucket has colored fluid all throughout it.. i take a couple sheets , crinkle them up a bit, and use them for mop up papers... so i have papers that match color wise, but have different effect... they turn out gorgeous, you will love this!! Just make sure the bucket is flat bottom... you end up with the edges a dark color.. oh, and for making it, dont worry about taking the insides of the markers apart, just take them out of the plastic container, and take the whole innard piece from the marker,, exactly like you did, use the pliers, hold it over the garbage can, just in case, and toss the whole thing into the iso into the sprayer, put it in first, and then put an ounce or two of the iso in and the longer it sits, the darker it gets... you will love this. Im sure of it... So If i didnt subscribe, I definitely will now. :))
If you search on RUclips you will find how to make DIY alcohol inks using used printer cartridges. I use the inks made this way all the time. There is actually quite a lot of color left inside those cartridges.
It does seem just like everything else, these companies are scrimping products. 😞 But I believe this will reactivate the ink. The key is to cut the cartridge open 💕
