    I'm having this problem at least every other week. I've only had my G6 since before Thanksgiving. I put a motor in it, and it was good for a minute. I really liked your video. No rambling, no um um ums, and it's perfect for a girl like me, who has some knowledge and resourcefulness, but not the good hacks!! Have a blessed 2023 Christmas 🎄. I'll let you know if I figure it out. 😉

    Dude, you are a lifesaver! I've got a G6 in Pheonix (mistake to begin with I know) and I keep getting stranded in places because my car won't start after a 30 min drive (not even halfway across town). This trick works and it has kept me from melting!

      Thank for letting me know this has helped someone else with this problem... What I have shown is not a repair nor should be considered a fix for the issue BUT it does get around it ...
      Glad it helped you with your vehicle 👍🏼

    Ive come across plenty of these bad gm grounds. Most likely the ground wire on side of transmission to engine bolt studs. Wires frey off of the copper eyelits. Should be able to see them below throttle body. Hope this helps!

    Believe it or not mine wasn't starting while warm it took for Ever to get a lucky crank and when I grounded the relay like this man it's starting every time

  • @stevengraham4678
    @stevengraham4678  6 месяцев назад +3

    The ground to the starter relay was not active.. this was causing the starter not to engage using the key .. we supplied a ground to the ground pin on the relay and the car started right up ... Also we left the jump wire on it for a week of normal driving activity to see if the problem came back and it did not ...we ran a new ground wire to the pin from underneath the fuse box later on and no more issues so for ...😊

    Check the ground wire that is located on the transmission fasten with a nut. It by the temperature sensor on the main transmission bolt. There like 5 wires. Those wires get corroded.
    No crank no start sounds like a rely box issue. Swap out my relay fuse box. In my Chevy cobalt.

    Just did this to my car and it worked. 🎉 Thank you so much 3 years car has been parked. 2010 Pontiac g6. Can I just leave the wire to the battery. Since it’s only grounded can’t overheat or anything right

  •  3 месяца назад +1

    I had the same problem it was the ground on the bell housing one of the wires it was black/white strip it had only two strands holding on just added a piece wire so it could reach that took care of that hope this helps you and any body else

  • @stevengraham4678
    @stevengraham4678  3 месяца назад

    No we just used a ground jumper wire at the ground pine if the relay ...that's an easier troubleshoot to see if it is a dead ground in the box or a ground supply to the box ...once you use the ground jumper and ground that starter relay it will start if it is a ground problem

    My intermittent No Crank issue has been going on for years. It can go many months without acting up & then out of nowhere it returns with the No Crank again. I pulled off the START relay cover & close the contacts manually with the key in the run position when it wont crank. I'm going to try this temporary ground jumper fix. Thx for the suggestion.

    Thank you so much for posting this video. Very helpful. I have the same issue, however mine would start when cooled off. I was wondering if this car has the same issue and if after adding the wiring to it if it was tested to turn on while engine was hot?

    • @stevengraham4678
      @stevengraham4678  11 месяцев назад +2

      The one we worked on just quit all together .... but the when hot issue seems to be in the copper strands of wire inside the fuse box ,I have seen some that the wire got hot and cracked resulting in separation when hot due to the wire expanding and separating them when cool it will go back together and crank .. we did check this one for cracks but non where found ....BUT ! If it has lost the ground to that relay were I show to ground it to the battery ,,you have reestablished the ground and it will crank if it's a ground issue ....Hope this helps .

      This one started not cranking here and there then one day it just quit starting...this wire jumper was kept there for a couple of days just to see if it gave anymore problems and it did not ...it's still starting and running now with the new ground that was re pinned into place ..

      If it has the same issue, possibly it may work .. locate your starter relay and find which pin is the ground pin and add a temporary ground to the relay ground pin and try and see ... Don't know for sure...
