    There's an issue with these where the screen goes blank sometimes when the machine gets blocked. Only way to resolve is to remove battery and put back in. Sometimes on/off button stops working too.

    Hi thanks for the review. I just got the machine on weekend and noticed that the motor head for the carpet one is much noisier compared to the V11 outsize that I had before. It doesn't sound as smooth when spinning. Is your one noisy too? Thanks

    If the V12, V15 and Gen5 where all on sale for the same price wouldn't it just make sense to buy the newest/most powerful?

    .3 is smaller than 1 right..as in microns? Dija mean .1 vs .3?
    ...earlier said.. "held out like this may be a strain" Vacuum the wall with the head on vs the 4" or what attachment?
    My missus wants to gift her sister one of these. ~ So what happens with those li'l bristles in the tube when using normally?
    ..could it catch stuff and plug up?
    Thanks for the video Walt. ...turning it on/off showing it's more of a hard button vs a button on the info screen to touch I wondered about.
    ~ The missus loves her V12 detect I got her to replace her broom for the kitchen and thinks we should get her sis same smaller cup/battery. I says prolly not being sis has a much larger home with more hard floor area besides kitchen...well it's a Stick vac right? ~~ Full sized fancy dan plug in vacs today kick booty for carpet..same dump and all that rutt.

    I must say, at 4:55, you mention that selector to be for the “suction.” Actually, what it’s doing is raising a lowering those little red gates at the bottom of the head, in order to allow/not allow larger pieces of debris. It has nothing to do with suction. Also, good review, though a lot of what you say is not specific to the Gen5, but rather what you find different from your 7 year old v8. The v12 for example has the button (instead of trigger), the laser, the trombone-style dust-bin, and others, and that was released last year. The Gen5, however, has a BETTER laser this year, STRONGER suction, and a few other unique features, which should’ve been more apparent here!

    • @crooked-halo
      @crooked-halo 8 месяцев назад

      No, the purpose of the front gates on the brush bar is to decrease suction on carpet by allowing more airflow, thus increasing the speed of the high-torque brush. I suppose they _could_ be used for picking up large debris, but that's not what they're engineered for. Holes on each side of the bar serve the purpose of picking up large debris on the edge.

    i just need help to choose between that and the outsize. Can you help me out?

    • @waltsreviews90
      @waltsreviews90  10 месяцев назад +1

      If you have a lot of floor to cover may want to go with outsized, I went regular because I was worried about the weight of the outsized, but it does take a long time to cover a lot of floor with the smaller model that I have.

      If the V12 gets the 2in1 Nozzle at 1:57- I'd be so happy. It'll add a little more weight, but I'm all for it than rummaging and swapping heads.

    Why in the hell is all the weight centered at the top near the wrist. The motor needs to be at the bottom. Also, give us bags! The vacuum isn't the right one for me, but... you are. ♥

    • @georgebalan6201
      @georgebalan6201 11 месяцев назад +10

      No; if it’s put at the bottom then it can’t be used for hand held mode.
      Also; bags are HORRIBLE- they trap nasty smells, cost a lot, and are horrible for the environment.

    • @davidhunternyc1
      @davidhunternyc1 11 месяцев назад +4

      @@georgebalan6201 Wrong. There are bottom motor vacuums that are removable for hand held mode... and really? Bags are horrible? I've had my Miele S528 since 2002. My vacuum is in perfect condition, inside and out. No issues. No smells. Bags are bad for the environment? So is driving a car. So is drinking coffee. So is waking up in the morning. How about Dyson polluting the environment with all the shitty plastic they're making, only to be dumped in a landfill 5 years later? I live in a big apartment building and I often see broken Dyson's in basement trash. It's incredible how the masses get beaten up on for such things as bags in vacuums and yet the rich fly on private airplanes and dump thousands of gallons of gas a day into our oceans as they summer on their yachts in the Mediterranean. They laugh and mock us. Let the little people fight over vacuum bags and gas stoves.

    • @georgebalan6201
      @georgebalan6201 11 месяцев назад +4

      @@davidhunternyc1 Honestly- I’ll agree about your point on the environmental issue.
      HOWEVER; you misunderstand the point I’m trying to make: if you can do small things like not use vacuum bags when you don’t have to, it won’t save the environment but it gets rid of such an unnecessary polluter. If you don’t have to pollute; don’t. If we follow your argument, we might as well start burning our own garbage since it doesn’t matter how much pollution it makes.
      And again; youre paying for bags when you shouldn’t have to. If you think that companies like Miele have kept bags for any other reason besides making more money; you’re simply wrong.
      And there’s only a few cord free vacuums that have motors in the bottom; if consumers cared about this issue your making they would’ve chose those. Dyson products clearly make BILLIONS, if the motor in the bottom was an issue consumers would be buying less thus forcing Dyson to make a change.

      @@davidhunternyc1 not using a bag everytime you vacuum is environmentally friendly AND less expensive. imagine having to buy a new bag every now and then. so costly! and why are you talking about other environmental issues? this is about the vacuum bags and how wasteful they are. you cannot compare one environmental issue with another as each one is just as important from the other! granted not using a bagged vacuum doesnt make you a saint and cures all pollution but still it does help the environment even it is small. every little bit counts. its not about how big of the impact its about if its better or not! HOWEVER, i will agree dysons do no last long and they most likely do this to keep money coming in. but other than that me personally bags are a HASSLE, you always have to spend money as long as you own the vacuum. its like a lifetime subscription!
      as for the rich yes they do dump thousands of gas and pollute everyday but thats not in any of our control. just because he world is being polluted very badly doesnt mean its an excuse to cause pollution. shouldnt you be trying to preven pollution as much as possible? your mentatlity is that theres no point in saving he environment because its already being polluted and that is wrong. there is no harm in trying to do whats right.

    • @fireblocker1011

      @@davidhunternyc1 oh and i know that in a way dysons are a "lifetime subscription" since they are not much good after 5 years however their corded vacuums last a VERY long time compared to the cordless vacuumes. i do like the easyness of cordless vacuumes though
