One thing to note with crackle is that at X=4 it’s just as efficient to target a creature and 3 opponents as it would be to target a single creature. At X=5 (so 17 mana total, lol) it’s more efficient to just pick targets. Still a good card but its usage is situational. EDIT: though if you’re worried about your opponents gaining hexproof, or if they have that leyline out already, going for the single target is a viable option have the commander hit their faces
Love this primer! In my experience it’s worth it to run a few “opponents can’t gain life” cards. Hyper annoying having that one playing always out of reach.
Lol Last Chance is like that one card that may help. Gotta have that Burn mindset for one more turn before you lose (like on the next turn you drew a land instead of a burn spell).
Hey man, first time subscriber to your channel and ive already watched like 5 videos. Thanks for the resources and your opinions for building decks. Ive been building an ob nixilis captive kingpin infinite ping deck with all will be one+solphim mayhem dominus but have been having trouble filling the rest of the cards in. ^_^
Happy to help! I actually have an ob Nixilis voltron/value deck, not a fan of infinites myself but sounds pretty fun! I’ll link my deck list if that’ll help at all
Card draw is going to be the challenge (lol as usual for Red). My Urabrask Burnslinger sidesteps that by running ~35 card draw spells, all of which Urabrask pings damage off and gives mana back. Will have to see which works better.
Oh yeah it’s definitely gonna suck, there’s not much you can do to subvert that in red. That’s why I put as many “play from your graveyard” effects that I could find lol
@@levisdeckbox to me, the Imodane sub-themes seem to be copy effects, damage doublers, and graveyard recursion. Probably better off leaning into just two, rather than trying to exploit all three... Unless you're willing to give up a few other things most players find desirable. I'd give up board wipes and artifact removal to focus on burn (when I play Red, *I* set the tempo for the table. The rest of you are in the clock lol)
@@levisdeckbox I played Urabrask three times tonight, winning all three. 1st game I drew/exiled 36 cards in one turn and won on Crackle with Power @ X = 13 (and it was also copied 3 additional times lol); accidentally went infinite with Reiterate on Mana Geyser over Fiery Inscription, and I don't remember the other lol. There's always a good balance lol
I am worried about *Mono Red Commander* syndrome, I can already see myself begging for card draw. Maybe you could do a video looking at how to make this deck run rather than sprint to an empty hand?
Yeah that’s one of the downsides of a deck like this. I put a bunch of the looting effects in the deck, pair those with as many spell recursion like Past in Flames and hopefully you won’t run out of gas lol.
Thats why you play impulse draw cards too, unlucky witness, mishras research desk, wrenns resolve style cards can help you dig and there are cards that let you recycle instant/sorcery cards from graveyard like urabrask and birgi can geet you the extra mana to go crazy
Doesn’t it? Not directly, but it doubles the initial burn spell via being a replacement effect, e.g., cast Lightning Bolt and normally deal 3 damage, but Fire Servant replaces that 3 with double, in this case 6 damage, Imodane then deals 6 to each opponent.
Red deck wins meets commander. Nice.
My thoughts exactly haha

Oh yeah you’re totally right, good catch!

Yes! I run one or two of those in my Kibo deck, love how it’s so simple but it can really put a hole in someone’s plan
Fall of Cair Andros

Haha my thoughts exactly, go out with a bang

I’ll have to update the deck list when I get home from work

Yeah there’s definitely a balance you have to maintain, that’s why playing mono red is so rough even though it’s my favorite color lol

Yeah it’s either draw no cards or draw your deck and combo off it seems haha
Just got this deck. Cant wait to accomplish the so desire Triple Kill with Imodane.
Best of luck! Sounds awesome lol
With this commander , the stuffy doll style of play seems really fun for the player and really unfun for the opponents
Oh for sure, however I don’t think mono red burn is fun for your opponents in and of itself so I don’t think it’s too much of a difference haha

use the one ring....its pretty good for card draw or minds eye

@@mibbzx1493 yeah I focused around the Past in Flames style cards to reuse my graveyard, definitely add Birgi and Urabrask if it’s in your budget!
Also if you get empty hundes quickly could run the experimental frenzy
Lightning Bolt + Imodane + Fiery Emancipation = 1 mana to deal 27 damage to your opponents at once. CRAZY! lol
My point exactly! This is a brutal commander haha
throne of eldraine and one ring go in this deck
Definitely! I typically don’t put cards over $5 in my decks but if you got em use em!
Fire servant doesnt' double immodane's damage so probably not worth running
That’s true, if you can find enough doublers to replace it you probably should

Yeah that was my thought process so technically it doesn’t double it but effectively it will still see the doubled damage
