Sometimes I think it was supposed to be in online mode or just cut content like Mexico and north area with other towns perhaps, and the beach was maybe a heist like in gta online but was later cut :(
11:57 this is a cut Lagoon, apparently according to an actor from RDR2 there was a cut mission involving cut funny dialogue about jumping off a cliff into a lagoon, the lagoon is supposed to be partly in a cave, of course, by what you can see there, by the lighting and rocks, theres a cut cave with a lagoon, where else would an empty road lead to? A cut mission or script
I wonder if that river delta & those dried up river valleys at 15:30 were meant to connect with the waterway southeast of Saint Denis that led to Guarma in the beta versions of the game. It’s also very likely that that same ocean was probably used in the cutscene on the boat right before being shipwrecked on Guarma as well
The inlet is too far north to connect to where Guarma is rendered in-game but its a nice theory! I personally think that a lot of the land that surrounds the playable land is randomly generated just so Rockstar could eliminate any chance the player could see the edge of the map. Though the inlet is a bit of an oddity.
Great video man, it really is sad to see how much cut content amd how many more accessible areas we were supposed to have. Rockstar i think is going downhill because they care way too much about maximizing profit through gta online. They don't care about us as much they did even 6 years ago when the game was released.😢
I just think that it's a bit of a shame that there was a lot of planned content and locations for this game that Rockstar never decided to capitalize on and likely never will.
In that case, I think I sounded a bit melancholy as I was not sticking to a script and instead a very vague list of locations I wanted to show, therefore I was busy thinking of things to say and how to position myself in game.

Creating such a massive out of bounds area was definitely necessary in order to give the game a sense of scale.

The rest of the map they are probably working on rdr3 where your John and then you become jack and the western world is a little developed.
Unless something happens to jack and I don’t know I’m on chapter 6 almost to Arther’s death.
