the MEANEST part of "as a person you couldn't even get a star on yelp" is Yelp has a 1 star minimum
I noticed that of the two tv chefs, Julia Child is the only one actually preparing the food herself.
Yea, because Gordon is a Chef who runs a crap ton of restaurants.
He isn't some lone chef.
Mate, have you seen Gordon's tutorial videos on youtube? He knows how to cook. Obviously. Wouldn't get Michelin stars otherwise.
Why don’t you actually study Gordon his recipes are healthier easier and better
The thing about Gordon’s anger is that he’s a professional chef who takes great pride in his work and is sent out to help failing restaurants pull themselves together. And he’s a bit grumpy at first but he’s still holding out hope the reviews were inflated and blown out of proportion. And then it all goes to hell and he has people who call themselves professional chefs, ostensibly holding themselves to the same standards he expects of himself, repeatedly and almost gleefully making dumbass mistakes any idiot could avoid if they took it seriously. So he’s a professional dealing with his supposed equals making horribly dangerous mistakes. But you just need to look at how he treats the wait staff (if they aren’t also part of the problem), children on his kids cooking challenge show, and how he acts in his masterclass to see he isn’t just a big ball of anger. He just gets righteously and justifiably angry when people make potentially life threatening mistakes. Imagine if he was an architect at a construction site where every worker is a walking OSHA violation and the building will barely support its own weight if no corners are cut, and he’s watching the foreman cut every corner possible, then make some new corners so they can cut even more!
nah he too angry

I'm addicted to your ERB reactions!
Same here, I'll see one I wasn't the biggest fan of, or just didn't fit my tastes. Think nawww I didn't like that one. 2h later i open the reaction
One part Big Bird- Julia Child was a 6 feet tall woman
2 part Ms. Piggy- Julia is known for using a lot of butter in her recipes
I took the "big bird" line as a reference to her show on how to cook and prepare a turkey.
Julia Child was 6'2
Sous vide isn't in boiling water, just really hot and over a large amount of time, several hours generally. You vac seal the food in a bag and put it in the water, it comes out amazingly tender and needs just a little cooking extra to finish it.
And if you watch their making-of, you learn that what was in the bags she was holding were sections (crosswise and lengthwise) of bull pecker, which adds so many levels to what she was saying...and she was what we would now call a "snout to tail" chef. Back in the day of course, that was simply what chefs did, nothing special about it.
People also forget that Julia Childs was a true WWII hero like Christopher Lee. She picked up all her French cuisine influence because during WWII while a member of the OSS pimp smacking Nazis around with the French Resistance.
Julia Childs will always win hands down for me.
She belonged to the predecessor of the CIA. And she did work on shark repellant for soldiers wrecked at sea. That’s what that, “I served America dutifully…from shark repellent to charcuterie” was about.
Julia won this one in my opinion
Facts!
"*wrap it up*"
Keep it up Dave ;) Julia got this one for sure, but the whole Ramsay performance was on point too ;)
I like that Ramsay's line delivery is "choppier", as if to parody his over-edited American shows, where the audio work is all-over-the-place and aesthetically chaotic (as is the American Reality TV way).
Some "scenes" in _Kitchen Nightmares_ (just for example) have so many cuts, you can hear the sentence-mixing they've done, like they're rookies trying to make RUclips Poop for the first time.
So in this video, his voice seeming to be louder in some cuts than others, and the scenes/sets constantly changing and moving around him at light speed, feel like they're directly copying his shows' chaotic editing style.
'douche' is French for 'shower'.
Still by far one of my top faves hahaha I've watched this Battle so many times hahaha
I really love your reactions man, theyre so calming. thanks!
Unpopular opinion, but I think Ramsay took this because they're both chefs. Gordon Ramsay disses were aimed at her, but also her dishes, so I think that counts for more than Julia Child's personal insults. Because the biggest insult you can hurl at a chef is not at them, but at their food.
Agreed.
Not only that, but Ramsey's iconic "Mean" persona is only really a thing on Hell's Kitchen, so it's not exactly an accurate diss on him personally.
It would be one thing if this was "Hell's Kitchen" Ramsey, but this Ramsey literally talks about his different shows, so it's the person not the character. All of those disses fall flat as a result.
Ramsey takes it.
@@rainofkhandaq6678 exactly if you look at shows not filmed in America he is much more supportive and helpful, especially on kitchen nightmare's uk where he actively helps chefs and restaurants get their budget under control and fix menus.
Hard disagree for a simple reason. They are both chefs, but they are not the same kind of chef. Ramsey runs his own restaurant and is a pro chef meant to make pro chef food. Julia is a teacher and educator before she is a pro chef. Her main job was teaching a generation of women home cooking, something she did well!
@@NoahKPeters Ramsey pointed out the flaws in her skilled.
Someone with said flaws, shouldn't be "teaching" anyone.
@@NoahKPeters yeah she taught women how to give their husbands heart attacks apparently.
too bad you missed a realy nice bar
mr child welcome to the GROW UPS table:P
tbh, I came in real biased towards Ramsay, but Child really took it for me. like, I’d never heard of her before this, but you’re right in that attacking character is way more effective, or at least it’s always been so to me. isn’t it funny the different tactics they each took?
I disagree actualy because thats the only thing she could attack him on she had nothing else ramsey attacked her personality her weird cook book etc etc
Child didn't win any in way except having the best line.
That's it though, overall, Gordon was better.
Julia was sassy and saucy. The British, when they first saw her show couldn't believe anyone could be that ebullient and comfortable in their skin without being drunk.
Souls Vide is a cooking method. It cooks food slowly and carefully in vacuum sealed bags. Thus Julia was both proclaiming her certainty of winning and her technical competence in cooking.
what i love about your reactions is you ACTUALLY react and have stuff to say about the video. your reactions to 3 minute videos end up being 11 mins due to all the comments you give. other people make funny faces when they hear a diss and that’s their reaction. you’re on a whole other level
Thanks! Sometimes I get comments on how I pause and talk to much. It interesting to get comments like yours, which points out what exactly reaction channels are suppose to do, give our thoughts and actually react to the content haha.
Not sure if someone's already said it but sous vide is when you cook food specifically meat in a watertight bag with the air sucked out, and because of the machine used the water can only reach a certain temperature and you never overcook the meat thus leaving it juicy. After it's been cooked in the sous vide you can remove it and quickly sear it in a pan for a nice crust.
Everyone agrees, Julia won by a lot. Even the irl Gordon Ramsey saw this and agrees she beat him bad.
Is there a video?
@@ChiefBones nah, he tagged ERB on Facebook. No reaction video, disappointingly. It'd be nice for a pro-chef to walk through all the cooking puns.
This knowledge makes me very happy.
False. Not everyone agrees.
@@rickypedia999 On Twitter, he simply said she won, not that she "beat him bad". But he "liked" the battle on all of his social media.
Yep, Sous Vide is basically put protein in a bag and cook it in water to lock in flavor
Brother after watching your videos for the last week I had no choice subscribed hit that bill for all the notifications love your work keep it going
I’m glad I earned it! I upload quite a bit daily so prepare your home feed 🤣
So happy to see Julia Child getting the recognition and admiration she deserves.
Dave! I’ve missed that shirt my guy, not seen it in a minute!
I enjoyed your reaction as per usual. Gordon Ramsay took this for me with factual raps and really attacking her cooking style. When it's a battle of cook's, I'd say Gordon destroyed her while she kind of just tried to attack his tv character.
Exactly. That's how i always saw it as well. She had to make it personal but he was attacking her on who's the better cook.
@@orlanzo2621 professional chefs...cooking is personal yet so is character personal...so they were both making it personal in their own ways.
@@dunbarf2413 Who a chef is reflected in the food they serve
To be fair, I feel like the both attacked the other person for the thing they are best known for. Julia was known for bringing „French“ cuisine to the US, so he attacks her cuisine. Gordon Ramsay, although he is a good chef, is more known for his personality and his shoes than his actual cooking, so that is what she‘s attacking. Also, he did have quite a few bars about her looks, which I would consider „personal“ rather than „professional“ as well.
(a bit late) but i think at the beginning she made her points already on what made her a better chef, shes got years of experience over him, she served for america (during the war) she cuts lard beautifully(a really tough thing to accomplish, implying shes skilled with her hands), she reins supreme from creating shark repellant(she developed a cake that repels sharks lol) to charcuterie(a board of mixed food) implying shes mastered a variety of foods. and then ends her point by saying "people know me for creating good food and fun, while people know you for crushing dreams and your temper, sure we match up in terms of skill, but at least im a likable person"
i think its really easy to overlook her lyrics because she uses witty food puns and her roasts are brutal, but gordon fails to actually defend himself, instead focusing on small things like "your food is fattening", "i'm innovative", and "ive got shows", all of which are irrelevant to who's a good chef, except maybe innovation, but again, she made literal shark repellant cake, i think thats pretty innovative LOL.
i enjoy your reactions you got a new subscriber
Gordon Won. Miss Child? Welcome to the grown ups table.
The Gordon You see on American TV is just an adopted persona to appeal to Americans, hes not actually like that on his other shows or in person.
That beat that comes in with Julia is one of my favorites that they've ever done.
I died when Dave said he's hungry right at the start lol like nth else comes to mind bro lol
Dave, have you ever considered getting into film reactions? I know it’s a lot of editing to bypass the copyright filter algorithm, but movie reactions have a huge, huge market on RUclips. I frequently watch movie reactions for my favorite films here, and I have seen new channels absolutely explode in growth after just a few months of consistent uploads. Reacting to popular classics like saving private Ryan, The Dark Knight, John Wick, etc, will have a lot of new viewers come to your channel.
Just something to think about if you think you can do the editing work lol 👍🏻
My favorite ERB.
Another fun reaction, man.
I hope you get to Steve Irwin vs Jacques Cousteau soon, that's a fun one for sure =D
I know nothing about both of them. I feel like it would be a difficult one for sure haha
@@whatitdodave It's okay to just watch and have fun too, you know =D
Greetings from Denmark
hey I'm early for once!!! good vid's and I can't wait to see more!
Yes sous vide means something double cooked in water at a low temp. So if you put an egg in a bag and boil it quickly at high temp or over a long period at low temp, it helps with flavors and retaining moisture when cooking. So meats usually are low temp long time with very aromatic ingredients with the meat.
I glad you enjoyed it.
Yo dave!
That's a VERY good point about attacking someone's character meaning you understand them on a deeper level than just attacking their looks or what they do. It falls just a little flat here since it's Gordon's stage persona, as well as professional pride, not his actual character.
In all, this is a great, fairly balanced battle, but I prefer Julia because of her upbeat attitude.
This one is good!
hey, Dave. got a joke for ya.
one time, i accidentally gave my friend a glue stick, instead of chapstick; she's still not talking to me. 🤣
Did you notice the erb logo on the burger that's flipped?
I love your erb Reactions, I just have one request. Don't put who you think wins in the thumbnail because it ruins the surprise of who I think you're gonna choose for ect. Its fun to play along and listen
ANOTHER ONE!!
Sous Vide as you said is to cook in the bag at under boiling temperatures for a long time to cook even and thoroughly without burning.
And it's preserving the moisture and flavors. Sorry, you did great, he just also mentioned the perseveration aspect.
@@chaddon7685 It seems like it was almost a different way of steaming
AHHH MY FAVORITE ONE
'I got this in the bag, sous vide' is a reference to putting food in a bag, remove all air inside it, and cook it like that.
Plus she pops up holding a sous vide bag. If you look, that is the version of Julia Child that actually says the words "sous vide".
Gordon will always take this battle with the 'glorified translator' line.
It's a good line, but it doesn't overcome everything she threw back at him.
I’ve always like the 1 part big bird 2 parts ms piggy lol
@@xheralt Which is next to nothing.
How were most of her lines any better then Gordon's?
Answer, they weren't.
Overall, Gordon had better lines.
This is the first ERB that was a tie!
What people don't realize is that when Gordon says he's got "exactly two minutes," two minutes in when his verse comes up, he says "aight, fuck it" like he knows that he has to finish but he's just to angry to drop it. And one of my favorite bars that almost everyone misses is the first one he says. "Mrs. Child, welcome to the grown-ups table."
Cook an omelette in a bag you will not regret it. They come out so fluffy
The battle felt a bit uneven, but this beat slaps all on its own!
One part Big Bird, 2 parts Miss Piggy.
All weight jokes aside, Julia Child was a 'Big Bird'. She was over 6 feet tall, and 'Bird' is UK slang for a woman.
This was a slaughter
Don't F with Julia....hahahaha,
sois vies is cooking food in vacuum sealed bag at precise temperature in water bath.
First half of Gordon’s first verse was the intro
Michelin stars is how they rate restaurants ....bar.
Fun fact Gordan commented on this erb but the later deleted the comment lol
This is the battle between the two chefs. That's how Julia Child actually spoke
Julia childs was a spy during WW2 and also took part in shark repellent testing, SHE WAS the GOAT>>>>>>BAHHHHHHHHHHHH
Big fr im feelin Gordon won this one. Julia couldve if she didn't spend that time talking about French food n stuff 🙄
Sous Vide is boiling in a bag pretty much, but it's vacuum-sealed and boiled at a controlled temperature for a longer period.
Also, Gordon is mostly known in the US for yelling, but he's also a pretty sweet guy when he's not yelling at chefs that are supposed to know their job but mess everything up.
Seeing him on shows with kids is amazing, or when he finds someone who works hard but gets f-ed over by employers or just life in general, he swaps over to motivational speaking, it's just yelling at idiot chefs get more views. :P
Do a Rasputin Vs Stalin
Check his playlist, he did it. I am amazed how fast Dave is putting out ERB reactions.
Julia Child roasted him and he couldn't counter it.
They both win as good cooks my belly hurt feed us. *chefs horse. Throws frying pan at me* feed yourself awww ok XD
you have a weird collection of obscure knowledge.....i think i'll keep watching more of your reactions.
Oprah vs Ellen next
Julia Child's attacks were more precise. And she was the only one actually cooking herself in the battle. She ate that (not a pun).
Honestly, had it not been for people like Julia Child and Martin Yan of 'Yan Can Cook (And So Can You!)' then I don't think we'd be as diverse about what we like to eat in this day and age. She opened up French cuisine and Yan opened up Chinese. I remember, as a kid, watching both their cooking programs on late night television when I couldn't sleep. I was a ten year old kid learning how to cook on her own (mom was, essentially, a single mom so I kept my sister and I fed until she got home), so both of their shows were very influential to me. I don't think I would enjoy cooking so much today if it hadn't been for them back then.
So, I can say with some certainty, that without the two of them coming before, Gordon Ramsay wouldn't have the culinary empire he has today - at least not the US side of it.
Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg
She won how?
Why do you, or other people ALWAYS pick one character over one good line?
Overall, Gordon did better and deserves the win.
As a Brit, Ramsay won this lmfao
Nah but seriously, not only does he attack Julia, he also attacks her dishes and legacy which is significant as they're both chefs.
Meanwhile Julia just insulted Ramsay's character. While it's accurate to the shows popular in America, Gordon is far from always angry and rude and so her disses don't really land.
He may not always be angry, but his yelling and insulting is what he's most known for. That's all people who don't watch him, know about him. So it's pretty accurate imo.
Living in Las Vegas working as a cook she was pretty accurate. He's in a lot of controversies out here in Vegas for not paying his staff, there is a law you have the visit your restaurant atleast once a year which he didn't show up for 2-3 years, and his restaurants always being shut down. His name has become a insult we use against our chefs when they wanna scream and yell at us. " Chill out Gordon you ain't paying us enough; we ain't on TV you can stop acting tough". Even when I was at the millionaires cooking and showing off our dish representations when all the millionaires casino backers flew in for the highway gambling rewards dudes name was being thrown around as insults by everyone. Propaganda Michelin star.
@@kbsskb788 No it's not.
This rap battle was not about Hells Kitchen.
It was about the person.
And Gordon is not like that outside of show.
@@MrSmexy702 Nope, and she never brought that stuff up.
She loses this battle, period.
@@maxdrags3115 no one cares period. I was just stating facts.
Ramsey won
Julia wins
to me gordon won and wanst even a contest jullie had nothing on him only his personality which she kept attacking gordon ramsey took way more stabs at her on all kinds of stuff her eaperence her weird book her not being original and more
I'm giving it to Chef Child. Ramsey was literally just repeating himself. "You're fat. You're ugly. You can't cook." He did very little to distinguish himself or brag. Where as Julia was dissing him and hyping herself up
That's a bunch of BLATANT lies.
First of all, Ramsey actually attacked her for her food, because she's a CHEF.
Child didn't, she only ever attacked him over his FAKE personality that's on only like 2 of his shows.
Secondly, Child brought up french food throughout a lot of her lines, a decent amount of that could have been taken out and replaced with actual comebacks.
Gordon blatantly won this rap battle.
He didn't repeat himself anymore then Child repeated herself.
And SO many of his lines had nothing to do with her looks.
So why don't you stop lying kid, and grow up.
She won by 3points
Ain’t no doubt that Julia took this
Smoother than all the butter she ever used to cook with
~_~
There is much doubt.
This wasn't a fair fight. They let Julia Child act like Gordan Ramsey's punches didn't hit. Plus she got more direct disses. But I can't argue with her swagger and flow, that was golden.
Not remotely true.
They are both Chefs, and it is Gordon who came in with WAY more hits that were related to her being a chef.
She only ever attacked his fake personality on like 2 shows of his.
Gordon blatantly won.
Julia cooked Gordon until he was past well done.
Nope.
Julia will always win as she was a real cook, Gordon's just an over paid tv host.
Julia won this by a mile.
Nope, and you can't prove otherwise.
@@maxdrags3115 of that, i am sure we can disagree. Would you like me to break down the bars as to why Julia won, or would you like to start?
