    I always get the DLC but definitely agree on the UI needing some sort of overhaul and reorganisation, one of my biggest peeves is just the sheer amount of tabs you have to cycle between for a lot of the in-game systems. The prompts for missing traditions etc are great, but when navigating around the menus there's a lot of screen clutter. Things could probably be sized down or compartmentalised a little better.

      In the end i will keep playing the game, and if you think how it looked at the start and how it has evolved, worth every euro i spend on it.

    Something I badly want in Stellaris is more victory conditions that I could work towards that isn't combat oriented. Personally I am not a fan of domination victory and I feel mixed on score victory. When i originally played the game I found that I loved playing with a mildly small empire. I love playing tall and even when playing tall is not meta I find it to be so much fun. I just wish there were other victory conditions to win the game.

You were able to sow rebellions on planets close to your borders with special buildings and starbase modules. Then you could back the rebels in a proxy war. I used this to wreck havoc, and also, had it used against me by a very shrewd AI that almost killed me with it..

      When you pay full price for a game you expect the full and completed product with some minor and far between bugs, DLC is DLC when it simply ADDS to a completed product and not completes it. This is not a DLC, this is them completing the game Stellaris over the course of 4 years and milking you for money everytime they get off their ass and start fixing the game.
      Stellaris at launch was like a early access title and it was waaay overhyped, just Like Hoi4 had barely any content at launch compared to what they hyped up before they released it (Play Launch Hoi4 and compare it to launch HOI3 roflmao) . I suggest you open your eyes and stop kissing up to Paradox as if they were a small indie studio in some random village in Sweden.
      They are a Studio who has made millions off gullible people like you who just think "Oh they will patch it after launch" "Oh they will add that in a DLC" "Oh it just released dont be too harsh on the game" you are the people they are marketing these crappy point and click games to, open your eyes and realize that and stop giving them your money and maybe they will start putting actual effort into games again.
      All of this makes them one of the most greedy and anti consumer companies ive ever seen just because of their policy of released Half Baked products for FULL PRICE and then charging you a further 4 times as they release "DLC" after "DLC" just so you can get half of the product you paid for.
      And in the end people still sing their praises and jerk them off so much that people like you leave comments like this misleading people into thinking Stellaris is a halfway decent game on its own without DLC or mods (Because it isnt even after a billion patches)
      Take better care of your money bro.

      @@kingofkemet5736 The issue of not delivering a complete and playable product and milking their fans is a main Gaming industry as a whole issue not just a Paradox Issue..As for Paradox Compared to their Competition, Civ and Total War specially dam Total War recently they make Paradox look like Angels. and funny enough, less greedy... and if not mistaken it seems Paradox has passed Civ and Total war so I dont think their policy will change any time soon since they are more and more succesful

      @@kingofkemet5736 I agree with you 50% you are right about paradox not being a consumer friendly company. They hire a community management team that is pompous and narcissistic. And Devs who get mortified at criticism. So the treat their customers poorly (just look at how they handled EU4 Leviathan)
      They do have a point that they need more revenue. Most games are more expensive to make, and the cost has stayed the same sense the 2000’s. So they offer the bases game incomplete with DLC to help cover for the development cost. But this constant stream of DLC has gotten to their heads. And the sheer quantity of “needed DLC” they sell borders on micro transactions. This stifles them making new games that run smoothly, and doesn’t feel like a 10 year old game.
      It’s a shame there isn’t another game developer who makes Grand Strategy. Paradox needs healthy competition.

    Has anyone had a glitch where your subjects status keeps changing so you can’t renegotiate your Overlord Status. It’s happened four times on the same Empire for me. Keeps flipping between a Vassal and Protectorate.
    Also, first Impression, I don’t think the Overlord Mechanic makes you feel like you own them. Like they can refuse an agreement you try to propose to them. I’d though idea was you could make demands but loyalty would suffer. But you can only get agreements by consent; just like Federation or Galactic Community. I actually feel I have less control over my vassals right now.

    Thanks ASpec! As a total newb I'm fast getting hooked on this gem. What expansion + DLCs would you say are a must-have for beginners, so we get more of a flavour of the current game, but without over-saturating it with 6 years worth of features? I'll prob end up getting everything in the mega-pack at some point, but just wanted some recommendations for my first 'real' serious play-through. Can we even de-select an expansion/DLC if we want (without uninstalling it)...? Cheers!

    • @A_Spec
      @A_Spec  2 года назад +1

      I would say Utopia & Distant Stars. Utopia adds some really important fundamentals such as enclaves, megastructures and deeper population management.
      Distant Stars adds more Stellaris. It's an event pack that adds nearly a hundred new things to encounter in space; events, unique solar systems, ect. It really adds to the story without bogging the player down with new mechanics.

    Stellaris is going the same path of other Paradox games: Simple for new players to learn at first, but the more content and DLC is shoved into it, the more complicated and overwhelming it becomes. Experienced players will have a better time locating and navigating this UI, but new ones? They'll give up, simple as that.

    Yesterday when I tried to create a specialized vassal the only option I could make was a protectorate. Am I missing something? I collapsed the protectorate but there were no indications on how I could change it and as i mentioned before they were non existent. Any help would be appreciated :)

    • @ginowashington8389
      @ginowashington8389 3 месяца назад

      You have to give them tons of research subsidies. If I want my protectorate to be another vassal type I give them a 75% research subsidy. They’ll eventually turn into a vassal automatically after hitting a certain point in research and then you can change to other vassal types. In my current game by giving research, alloy, and mineral/energy/food subsidies I’ve made one of my protectorates the second most powerful empire in the game over the centuries.

    One thing that absolutly does not make sense to me is the fact that vassals can say no. Im their overlord, if I say you give me more of your levies then you give me more levies. I was expecting more of a currency system where you gain vassal loyalty from deals that favor them and lose it if you make bad deals. It doesnt make sense that if my vassal refuses my order I cant go and kick their teeth in. Why would a vassal listen to me at all if they can just say no and I slink away with my tail between my legs? Doesnt make any sense. Rest of the dlc is great and I would by it for the hyper relays alone
