Yay!! I'm so glad you listened and loved it! Tool just never disappoints- all their songs are different and amazing and actually get better the more you listen, because as you noticed, everyone is performing incredibly all at the same time so its a lot to take in. Don't miss the live drum cam of Pneuma so you can really absorb the genius of their drummer Danny Carey. Also check out Jambi, Right in Two, 46 and 2, Eulogy. Oh and Lateralus. Skip their official videos and just pull up lyrics. By the way, most Tool fans dont mind pauses and rewinds, its all good 😊
Yes! I'm glad you already told him. When he said "who is playing that guitar, bro?" I was immediately thinking "The BASS player!" Justin Chancellor owns this song.
You just listened to the greatest band of all time!!! They don't just make songs. They create deep, thought-provoking experiences!! Aenima is my absolute favorite song, period. The lyrics mean more today than ever before! Maynard is a lyrical genius who loves so many different styles that he has 2 other bands, Pusifer and A Perfect Circle. Nothing can compare to seeing them live! They sound the same if not better than the studio version!
And this my friends, is how a TOOL fan is born. Welcome friend, spiral out. 😵💫 Lateralus would be a good choice for your nest one. It's the Fibinocci sequence.
Saw Tool last spring in Daytona and The Pot live sounds amazing. Last night I was lucky enough to see Maynard James Keenan (Tool's vocalist) in Michigan on his birthday tour with his other two bands A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer ( highly recommend checking out) along with Primus. All three bands were amazing.
TOOL army reporting! Loved this reaction. I watch many!! TOOL changed my life. My favs change all the time. Go with your gut and of course on what the army suggests. If you do more I’ll sub.
Yes, the guitar and drums are always great in a Tool song, but I think the bass is what really drives this one. Anyway, stick around for more Tool because you're in for an amazing ride. Vicarious (off the same album) would be a great one to try next. Similar energy level and more thought-provoking lyrics. Tool is one-of-a-kind!
Love the dive in! Tool is full of unconventional riffs, polyrhythms, and time sigs. Buckle up! Note: Don't be tempted by "official" music videos. They're weird, creepy, abstract, usually badly censored, and take away from the music experience. If you're into lyrics and interpretations bring them up on your phone. Tool mixes the vocals as an equal instrument. A part of the band. Only forward when the song demands it-the music isn’t a separate element. They're hard to hear until you're used to it. Even when they play live Maynard, the singer, is staged in the back on a platform near the drummer (GOAT). Bass and guitar are staged in the front. "Forty Six & 2" is a good one to jump on next. "Sober" was their first radio single. Still a Tool Army fave. For that one only watching the live '93 Reading show is very moving!
Welcome to your newest obsession. This rabbit hole is deep. Check out Pneuma live (drum cam), The Grudge, Right In Two, Sober, Lateralus, Stinkfist, Ænima, Vicarious…..the list goes on. The singer also has two other bands, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle. If you continue doing Tool songs then the Tool Army will be here to support you. Spiral Out
Don't know how much you like to read, so TL;DR with more info bellow if you want. Don't watch the music videos, only lyric or non-lyric videos. Tool fans love lyrics so you reading while watching or reading after is something people would like. Dont watch live videos except Sober, Pneuma, and maybe Pushit. I recommend Schism, Sober, then Lateralus for a nice starting order. Gives you more complexity in Schism, then a raw feel in Sober to not destroy your mind, then Lateralus will be destroying your inbox for requests. Some quick suggestions, dont react to tool music videos or live versions (with 2 (maybe 3) exceptions). Tool is more than your average band they put in the amount of thought and effort into 1 song that some bands can't for whole albums. Some bands find 1 good riff and a catchy hook then call it done. NOT Tool, they have only released an EP and 5 albums since 1992 albums because they DO NOT release till it is perfect.
🌀Tool Army unite! 🌀 I’m 44 & have been a fan since i was 14. Welcome to your new favourite band! Enjoy that first listen! Great reaction! Spiral out…keep going 🌀❤
You’ve just discovered the greatest band of all time. Subbed for your Tool journey. They are 3 aliens & an octopus (a fan reference to drummer Danny Carey, the way he plays, multiple polyrhythms simultaneously, with each limb playing a different rhythm, it seems like he has 8 limbs, not 4. The greatest drummer alive today, IMO)- not mere humans. Their music will open your third eye, expand your consciousness (if you let it), and change your expectation of what is possible from 4 master musicians. I recommend Schism, Vicarious, or the 2-song combo Parabol/Parabola next. Cheers!
GREAT video, man. Welcome to Tool. I highly recommend Vicarious, Lateralus, and 46&2 (the video that explains the song). And you're right, it's kind of hard to focus on the lyrics and try to process everything else that's going on musically, so they often take a couple of listens. Keep rocking!
That big drop at the beginning of the song was actually a HUGE bending of the A string on the 14th fret while letting the open D ring out. And I'm pretty sure this song took some masterful skills to write. But honestly if you know how to play guitar then you can pick this song up pretty easily
Tool has so many great songs, but the lead singer (Maynard James Keenan) has worked in two other bands as well: A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer. You are going to find alot of amazing music between these three bands.
L I sten to ALL there songs there all great. As we in the utool army say welcome! Each song you listen to willbe your favorite untill you here there next one.

Nice name, very unique, this is going to be interesting, so what if we don't like the video do we push no lol lol, never push the dislike button, the expression on your face is absolutely hysterical, wow totally blew my mind off, see again I would have never even thought about this Band, you open in my mind to different music thank you, this is nice, my mind is expanding with different bands and groups, all the years I had a closed mind, I'm so mad at myself not exploring different bands, the guitar is awesome, wow, i love it, definitely banging my head, lol lol, 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼, I don't do air guitar but I almost want to, did you just say tool st@ nkfist, lol lol, my mind is definitely blown WOW 🤯🤯🤯, hey I don't want to keep pestering you I'm sorry to keep bothering you, but I know you like guitars you really should check out-- Living Colour-- "Cult of Personality" the guitar it will blow your mind.
Welcome to Tool! The Pot is a great first listen, one of their best songs. But you aren't going to find a bad one honestly. One tip (which you will probably hear a lot) is DON'T watch the official videos. They are amazing visual stories in their own right, but can easily distract from the music. You are far better off looking up a lyric video for a first listen. You also may like A Perfect Circle One Maynard's other bands. It is a more 'traditional' rock band. Tool is typically classified as progressive metal, but really Tool is kind of its own category. Some other songs to check out: Vicarious Fourty Six & 2 Ænima Sober (watch the live version once you have gotten a feel for what Tool is) Schism Pneuma (Watch the Danny Carry live drum cam version to see an absolute master at work) Can't wait to watch you on the journey!
Welcome to Tool. You will see alot of tool fans saying Spiral Out. That means check out the song Lateralus. Go into it blind and then once the song is over look into the song and what it all means. Itll blow your mind! :) anyways carry on and Spiral Out my friend!
Welcome to the Tool journey, friend. I see the Army is already ascending. Nothing makes us happier than that smile and awe. You should do some reading about this band. They are musical geniuses. Adam Jones -guitar Danny Carey - drums Justin Chancellor - bass Maynard James Keenan - lyrics/vocal You'll be talking about them by first name in about two more songs. TGIF! Spiral out 🌀🌀🌀
For some short lore of the band the lead singer is Maynard James Keenan who is now 60 from Ohio before moving to LA in the late 1980s to become an actor. After that not working out he took part in a few Music projects before meeting Adam Jones. Adam Jones who is the lead guitar and is from Illinois and is currently 59, Adam moved to LA to be a movie special effects artist before forming Tool with Maynard in 1991. Prior to officially forming they added the drummer Danny Carry who was a friend and Neighbor to Maynard. Short story is that he covered as their drummer as they looked for one, eventually he practiced so much with them he decided to join. He is turning 63 soon and is from Kansas and is tall at 6’5”. Next was Paul D’Amour who was Tools first bassist who was from LA and wrote the bass lines for their 1st album Undetow and most of their second album AEnima before leaving the band in 1995. The last member and personally my favorite is Justin Chancellor who joined in 1995 and was featured on their 2nd album from 1996. Justin was in the British rock band Peach before joining Tool and is the youngest at 52 as well as he is from London, England. Their albums are 72828 LP (1991), Opiate EP (1992), Undertow (1993), AEnima (1996), Lateralus (2001), 10,000 Days (2006), Fear Inoculum (2019), They have also won 4 Grammies!
This song was written because a friend of one of the band members was found guilty of a marijuana charge, but the judge who gave him the sentence was later found with and charged for having a prostitute and crack cocaine
Congratulations, you've stumbled across the greatest band of all time! The whole catalogue is fantastic. Check out The Grudge, or 46&2, and I suggest having the lyrics pulled up. You got a new sub off this one!
Tool Is Next Level. I Hope You're Ready. They Are The 21st Century Incantation Of The Canadian Band, Rush... If You Don't Believe Me, Listen To "Freewill" From Their Album "Permanent Waves" Released In 1980. Enjoy Your "Real" Music Journey...😁
I absolutely love your reaction❣️Welcome to the the rabbit hole that is Tool🥰🖤 They are truly one of a kind and everything about them is off the charts. He’s a ju jitsu master and there’s actually a clip of him taking down some guy who jumped on stage during a concert and he didn’t miss a SINGLE note!🖤 You MUST watch the live version of Sober-he is everything and the performance will make you love Maynard all the more.🥰
WELCOME TO THE BEST BAND EVER. Pausing is TOTALLY FINE… so long as you rewind a bit so you don’t miss anything. For me, pausing often shows more appreciation. If someone wants to hear the song all the way thru… they shouldn’t be watching a reaction! Spiral out! Keep going!! 🌀 Easy first songs: you NEED lyrics. Aenema Right in Two The Grudge Pneuma Then you can dive deeper into Lateralus, Descending, Wings, Fear Inoculum…. The list goes on and on. They don’t have a bad song. Not one. Four absolute MASTERS of what they do. Creative geniuses. They do not fit into any genre. The genre IS TOOL.
Your reaction truly gets what it means to enjoy Tool... it will take many listens to before you appreciate everything the song has to offer... they give so much. Can i suggest the perfect way to listen to them is laying down on the floor with headphones on, in a dark room where you are free to just float and go on the journey! I think it's fair to say that that's what you wanted to do after listening to that song for the first time given how much you appreciated it, but was overwhelmed by it - and then try listening to the whole 10,000 days album doing that sometime :) ... then you will get Tool :)
I'm pretty sure this song is a response to criticism by the rock and metal establishment of the day. If you want to fall into the rabbit hole, a little bit, go Google " who was muddy Waters?"

Yes! I'm glad you already told him. When he said "who is playing that guitar, bro?" I was immediately thinking "The BASS player!"

Amazing does he do his own stuff on the side

Last year was the first time I saw them also. I'm confident you'll love watching all these bands live at Sessanta.
@@Yvonne-rb6mb I've seen Puscifer, but never APC or Primus.
Damn that's awesome. I will check them out for sure man 🙌❤
I saw them at their 2nd night @ Red Rocks… Absolutely incredible show.
Also it is definitely about hypocrisy. The Pot calling the Kettle black, if you know that phrase.
yeah that part i got Jamaicans say it all the time "Pot a cuss kettle"
That drummer is Danny Carey and he is the GOAT. No one will ever convince me otherwise.
TOOL army reporting! Loved this reaction. I watch many!! TOOL changed my life. My favs change all the time. Go with your gut and of course on what the army suggests. If you do more I’ll sub.

This song was written because a friend of one of the band members was found guilty of a marijuana charge, but the judge who gave him the sentence was later found with and charged for having a prostitute and crack cocaine
subbed for this...but checking out that radiohead, cheers
Hello…
It’s time
Lol 🤣
The best band of my lifetime. #Toolforever
Congratulations, you've stumbled across the greatest band of all time! The whole catalogue is fantastic. Check out The Grudge, or 46&2, and I suggest having the lyrics pulled up. You got a new sub off this one!
Everyone keep asking for 46&2 so that might be next 🙏♥️ thanks so much for the kind reply
Easy first songs: you NEED lyrics.
Aenema
Right in Two
The Grudge
Pneuma
Then you can dive deeper into Lateralus, Descending, Wings, Fear Inoculum….
Tool got you now
😭♥️
Hey, man, do some more tool
Bunch of em. I'll look at what you've done. Don't mind helpin' you kid. No telegram,no Instagram,no half a gram.peace!
I'm pretty sure this song is a response to criticism by the rock and metal establishment of the day. If you want to fall into the rabbit hole, a little bit, go Google " who was muddy Waters?"
You want Adam Jones(guitarist)to tickle your ears, listen to "7empest" Adam just straight goes off on his guitar
Please please try this UK dance hit from the 90's .. bass-o-matic with fascinating rhythm great tune with a rap twist in the middle 😀
No, nothing like Raidohead
Lol indeed
Welcome to the Spiral. 🌀
Good to be here
