    This applies to the disrespect our children show us. If they will not be respectful they must no t be allowed to come over or be with us until they learn not to speak and act disrespectfully to us.

    Nice thanks for sharing your journey. I to was single mom and my daughter is now 22. The illness & HELL that is created from poor boundaries indeed creates a feeling that Take Away from ones life.. to a point you pray to God is this what my life is going to be I rather die. Then you get Really PISSED Off and Take Back your Life: one day at a time is enough, one step is enough.

    i feel sick. On behalf of kids these days, okay you are 18 now, pay or get out.....how do you all of a sudden expect this? Then you kick them out on the street, /tHEN THE REVOLVING DOOR BEGINS, OFTEN YOU NEED YOUR ADULT KIDS TO SSTAY HOME ELSE YOU CANT PAY RENT. iNSANE ALRIGHT, What if granddkids are involved, and covid 19?

    Enabling.... I'm behind on rent because of CRUEL selfish family members who disrespect me constantly. I now have to make a decision to move out of my own apartment just to be free of them.

    That's great, but the son is now back at home with the author at the time of the interviewing? Still in crisis? Still rescuing? Hope that it is working out for them.

      Amelia Villanueva the author also say her son was having back surgery. once he has surgery, he wouldn't be able to move.
