Unless they've fixed this since it was first released, the problem with this plugin is that the filter it uses for isolating the sub isn't linear-phase, which means the waveform you see for the sub is actually out of phase from the actual sub waveform. If this was linear-phase it *might* be useful for making sure the waveforms of your kick and bass aren't interfering with each other, but otherwise it seems completely useless. Something like PsyScope is much more useful.
The amusing part to me is that a matter of hours ago Panorama Mixing and Mastering posted a video wishing for a plugin that could assist in fixing issues like a kick where the sub bass comes in late after the transient, but lingers too long afterwards. This plugin may in fact be able to identify this issue .. but then would do SFA in being able to fix it! The fact it isn't linear phase is gobsmacking to me...
Linear filters often introduce pre ringing. I dont think a linear phase filter is the best solution for this case. Thats why Kirchhof Eq has th option to mix filters and keep the linear phase for the higher frequencies and more traditional ones for the low end. I think for this „issue“ here the best solution would be some kind of phase matching tool that is specialy made for kicks or in general drums with deeper content. This then would disect the kick into attack and low end thump and time align them or give you a way to do it to gusto. What you see does not always corrspond to how it sounds. Thats why i always divide kicks in the low end and punch part and manually align them until it sounds tight like toiger.
@@saardean4481 Pre-ringing is irrelevant since we're talking about a visualisation tool; you're not hearing the output. Seeing a bit of pre-ringing in the visualisation is much less an issue than seeing the bass frequencies you're trying to phase-align being out-of-phase.
@@sburton84 as i said. dividing the kick in two parts and manually aligning them works pretty well. No visualization needed at least nothing fancy. Its a thing you hear immediately. I and i suppose many others use it for some years now. So until a tool comes out that actually replaces this methods results on the same quality level i can afford to get my pop corn and watch the developments
Have you demoed KickShaper by W. A. Productions? It's not just for for kicks... Is great on Bass and 808's.... Super easy way to tighten up and make the lowend bang! Really good plugin... Wait for a sale... Goes down 60% of the $40 they're asking normally. It's not just an EQ... But has like transient designer and gate properties... As well as a bunch of other things. So easy to dial in

Any chance you guys can review some Acustica Nebula libraries?
I second this
Could you review the BX Glue Compressor on Plugin Alliance chaps?
👍on it
@@StudioLife101 cheers chaps!
It might be good for analysing released tracks? Might have educational purposes?
Off topic slightly but I’ve been looking at tone projects ‘michaelangelo’ eq. Would love to see an is it shit review on this as it retails at $249!!

We'll have a look 👍
I got this VST free, good for Phase etc but I prefer to use Cableboys 3 for checking my bottom end! Sean, more phase on this VST Sir.
WELL except its out of phase with itself
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I found it handy but not at that price
Pass!
You should do a segment on the shitiest of the year 20xx
I love the intro guys hahaha fukkin great
Why? Oh goodness, why?
Why did anyone even suggest this for a review? It's bloody useless rubbish. But anyway, let's listen to "Wherever I May Roam" instead - shall we Dan?
Rubbish plugin end of
