- Join me in redesigning my splatoon ocs. Alongside a look into my character design process. Splatoon's character designs have always inspired me by how unique their designs can be and it made me want to take another go at redesigning some splatoon 3 original characters I had lying about.

My god I really need to figure out how to draw inklings and octolings. I have a pretty good grasp of standard human anatomy but it REALLY doesn’t help much because of how stylized their proportions are.
I love this so much, my only issue is that this is too short. I'd love to hear more about your oc's

1. I hate that this is the first thing I thought of, but the jellies in splatoon are a hive mind of sorts, so I'm not entirely sure how a jellyfish on their own would work as a character. 2. I love the designs! They're really cool and it's always nice to see other splatoon ocs!
I’m pretty sure the color at the end of teh octolings nails signifies that they’re stronger like the seaweed on the octoleet goggles but idk

This is so amazing! I really want to get more into doing digital art to draw some of my ideas for OCs from splatoon and other media, and i've been trying to look for tutorials for doing art on apps like procreate (though I keep procrastinating on this) and I was wondering if you had any tips for getting into digital art or any people you know that have online tutorials for digital art?

HIHIHI! This is an amazing video and I love your ocs so very much, and it inspired me to think about my own ocs a little bit more, so I'm going to write about them :)

Fishbone: So first I have my fanmade idol group (Fishbone), which consists of what's kinda more just idol squidsonas for my sister and me. Their names are Coral and Reef! Coral is a VERY energetic inkling who has the habit of constantly talking and saying absolutely nothing. Despite how much she, yknow, runs her mouth, she is very good at staying relatively mysterious about her personal life. She is very emotional and isn't afraid of showing it, but most of the time, any anger she's portraying is a bit. Reef, her octoling counterpart, is a lot more reserved. His voice tends to be pretty monotone, and he has a bad habit of yawning during their splatcasts because he isn't ready to be awake. He's quite rude, always with a snarky comment ready on hand, and when he does decide to talk he doesn't really seem to have a filter. Coral's favorite hobby is exploring different areas, and she usually takes Reef along with her; he always finds himself fascinated by each new place's culture and history. He works as an archeologist as his side job, trying to find information about the long-lost human race and the squids that inkfish are descended from.
Perseus: This one is just the story I made up for the guy I play as; we'll call him Perseus because that's my tag, but he has a different name pending. Perseus is an octoling who lived with his younger siblings and his parents with the Octarians for the majority of his life. He grew to be very good with machines, and he made a fantastic engineer. He found, though, that he much rather preferred drawing the blueprints for the project more than making it; he was good at engineering, sure, but his real hobby was art. Alas, he knew that his family was too poor to afford a college fund so he could study art, so he planned to become an engineer. Eventually, he found an opportunity: but he'd have to leave his home to grab it. So, he packed his bags and moved into a tiny apartment in the Splatlands. There, he figured out how he could afford to attend the Inkblot Acadamy; he could get a scholarship for turf wars, a sports genre. He didn't particularly like turf wars, but he joined the team, and it turned out he was pretty good at it! He only really did it out of necessity, though. When he wasn't doing all that to keep a scholarship, he got a part-time job at Grizzco to pay what he needed (and have the funds to pay for his apartment, food, and transport between the Splatlands and Inkopolis whenever he had classes). He's really trying his best to simply survive.

Thank you so much!! I use procreate for my art! For line art I use the Funny Inker brush (its free) I can make a more in-depth video on my process in the future! :D

For the life of me I want to draw my own Octoling but I don’t know anatomy and how draw the eyes and eyebrows SOMEONE HELP PLEASE
I know you commented it 1 month ago but try to observe what you have problem with and try to simplify it into basic shapes! also try some warm up sketches :)
Also, I would look at artists and how they draw inklings/Octoling.
As well as using the Splatoon Manga as that’s basically a drawing reference but in a story form
