This is the kind of Christian filmmaking I had always hoped for!
Same here and I think because of stories like the chosen and the prince of Egypt I’m coming into writing biblical fiction from a fantasy background
The whole production is my favorite. The acting, the visual impact, it’s all just wonder full, wonderful.
This is a FANTASTIC and FIRST multi-season TV series about the life of Christ as seen through the eyes of those who encountered Him and were never the same. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE needs to see this.
The Shepherd is just beyond-words-incredible!

This is really cool. The writing is - I was going to say it's the heart of the project, but really, it's the marrow of the bones, which creates the blood that the heart then pumps. There is nothing more central to the spirit or purpose of the project than the writing. It was a rare treat to get this glimpse of how this works with The Chosen.
So happy to learn more about the writing process of this incredible show! Ryan Swanson so beautifully explains how he, Tyler Thompson and Dallas Jenkins absolutely uphold Scripture while making sure the audience is pulled into each of the characters lives so we understand the true impact that Jesus has upon their lives. Their inspired writing brings us into the equation too as we can relate to the beautifully developed characters, and can be equally moved.
This writing style does not compromise scripture, but fact, makes it richer as we revisit with fresh perspectives and full hearts. So thankful to Ryan, Tyler and Dallas as they strive to get the greatest story ever told to this generation in a new package that has a huge potential for impacting the world.

Each episode makes me cry and has already changed my life! I thirst and long for Jesus more now! So much of hardwork and efforts go into the making and we just sit back, relax and watch the finished product not realizing all the efforts that went into the making. Kudos to the entire cast, crew, team. God Himself will truly reward you and give you so much favor in every area of your life, your generations will enjoy the fruits of your labor!

A couple of things: 1) I love how young Mary M.'s father says, "What do we do when we are scared? We say Adonai's words." It occurred to me that we should remember God's words for every situation and emotion we experience, e.g., pain, uncertainty, joy, anxiety, weariness. 2) During the scene between Jesus and Nicodemus, notice the fire in Jesus' eyes and tone of voice. He seems sterner than in many of the other scenes He's in. Good to see that because He will be interacting with people who don't support Him in the future and will need that kind of passion.
Whatever you guys are doing is working. Not one wasted word or moment. Keeping the Spirit among you, I pray that y'all continue to be guided so that we may have the gift of relevant and vibrant Gospel.
Can't wait to see how far this show goes. God will be glorified. Hope to see Mark written in.
I have been touched and moved to share the gospel even more fervently, by this series. Like most folk, I am impressed with the production's divinely guided ability to harness the talents of all involved. One aspect that has had a profound effect on me is the beyond amazing music. It creates the perfect mood for every scene without intruding on the story but enhancing it. The composers have brought their loaves and fishes in abundance... Thank you, Dallas, VidAngel, cast, crew et al, for listening when you were called. God truly does work in mysterious ways.
This is one of my favorite episodes, I love the way you make ever caracter more real of what ever person goes thru in life. Bless you all. Waiting for the next episodes.

I've been always hoping for gospel series that will not just focus always on Jesus but also on the disciples' lives , especially those who were not much mentioned like Andrew, Big James, Philip, Nathanael, Simon Zee, and Thaddeus, on how do they live, what they were way before they met Jesus... After almost 20 years, my hopes were answered 🙏🙏🙏

I am so very in love with every bit of all you are doing, Dallas, with each and every video. I think I have seen them all!!! I fell in love with The Chosen after the 3rd viewing of it, when I SAW MYSELF IN MARY MAGDALENE'S deliverance. I collapsed just like she did. Now...When do we get to hear about what transpired at the writing retreat in Oregon. I can't wait!!!!

Perfect, I was into reading big-time as a child growing up. We had a set of Bible stories for children. The beautiful art work and adapted Bible stories formed my start as a Christian.
I heard a story about some young people , college agriculture students. One young men asked one of the Amish men if he was a Christian the man replied "that's not a relivent question for me. If you ask my neighbor he can tell you"

Hey i am a filmmaker and an actor as well as a believer... you inspired me to procclaim Gods love on screen...keep making the episodes... its been a blessing
i very much like how the writers treated each character in the beloved gospels. I look forward to Season 2 and be acquainted more with the sons of thunder, Thomas & Ramah, and hopefully be able to watch Jesus with Zacchaeus, the tax collector and the father of the demon-possessed boy who struggled in his faith.

Cool!!! Very cool!!! This is exciting! I am not a poet, but like to see writing process. Praying for you all!!! I pray that the acting crew is able to be there still. I hope it all gets funded in time. It is a fresh new way to bring people to Jesus. As a Christian, I have never liked a sales pitch evangelism. We are not selling someone. I want people to know Someone. Someone who knows all about me, in fact made me for a specific purpose. If people can grasp Jesus is not just a historic figure, but they can experience what those who saw Him did in their own life not just for now, but for eternity.

Truly inspired writing! Yes, Peter's rant at God in episode 4 was very likely to have happened and that scene in this episode was so appropriately preceded by the miracle of the catch and Jesus' calling the fishermen to follow Him.
I'm certain that believers who are in similar financial conflicts in their chosen secular vocation will relate. As for me I realise that my true vocation is to follow Christ. Any secular income bringing activity is His provision. He who calls will provide as He sees fit. Am taking Jesus at His word.

I love this series and love this video. Getting a little frustrated though at the constant announcements that all you’ve got to do is get the app when it’s only available in the USA. I know this is an international project but it kind of comes cross as the rest of us don’t matter that you say it with no info that it is only the US currently. Bless you all

Im like watching this over n over again... This is such a magical jesus series..
I have been trying to write to blogs and news outlets to get the word out about this show. Is there any way of finding out the state different actors/crew members are from? I ask because it might give some smaller newspapers an incentive to cover it, if they could write "native of _____ part of series about Jesus".
The purpose of these wonderful stories is not to replace reading our Bibles. It visualizes a time, a place, and a people; when the Messiah, our God, walked in a skin-suit. I pray for this production; because it turns our attention and focus back to Jesus. We have mostly nothing but filth with no reference or any remote affiliation to God, and His people. It reminds us of how people reconnected with their/our Creator through His Son Jesus. Dallas, don't get caught-up in "entertaining" people with fantasy. Stay pure and feasible with the Word of our Bible; and it's Author, Jesus, as your guide. God bless this production, and all the beloved people who make it possible!

I have never watched a movie about Jesus that was boring..maybe not scriptural like it should tho but yes this is a great series of stories..I just hope it stays biblical.

Why do people think Jesus Christ is born when I was saved I never thought Jesus Christ was boring!
Jesus Christ as powerful he's not boring knowing Jesus Christ as a spiritual adventure nobody and all the Earth in the universe can ever give. Honesty y cater to the world when God has the power of the holy Spirit to change lives?
Jesus Christ FIB high and lifted up I'll draw all men unto me. We have nothing to do with lies being changed it doesn't matter how creative we are it doesn't matter how popular it doesn't matter how much money we have Jesus is the one that has the source to the power of transformation. That's how the Lord works in my life he taught me by the holy ghost how to pray he taught me by the house. How to be both like in the book of Acts.

Spirit filled believers know the word of God, the holy Scriptures, are NOT boring since the Spirit brings the revelation. The word is LIVING!
The following holy Scripture confirms it's only boring to carnal minded people.
CARNAL MINDED ONES
Romans 8:6&7, "To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. "
Matt. 13:13-17, Jesus confirmed, "Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

John 14:26, "The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things.."
1 Cor. 2:13, "These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual."
1 Cor. 2:10, "God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God."
NOT BORING AT ALL WHEN YOU ARE BORN AGAIN, BORN OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We can’t get the actors less dirty because the people they’re portraying weren’t less dirty. All day working in the desert environment in poverty? They weren’t meant to look good.

I always wonder why nobody ever makes a Jesus movie that's 100% faithful to the Bible. It won't be boring. If it's boring, then your screenplay is problematic, not the source.
The Bible leaves holes as far as character development is concerned.
We don’t know much about the real apostles in terms of backstory. You need backstory and the ability to use those details to create a well thought out character.
The gospel doesn't need to be rewritten. And a story line out of your own thinking is called idolatry. Stick to the Jesus of the Bible. Stop trying to rewrite the Biblical Jesus.

@@paigemackenzie2297 Make no mistake Paige. They are rewriting it. I am not certain what Gospels you are reading, but the ones that I am reading do not contain much of what has been written into this show. The Word of God is perfect as written. There is a reason why certain things were left out. God wants us to focus on what is written. He doesn’t want us to fill in the unknown with stories from our own imaginations.
Let's take Mary Magdalene for instance. There isn't much written about her in the Gospels but the writers of this show feel it's perfectly fine to portray her as a prostitute with a drinking problem. These aren't fictional characters from some novel. These were REAL people, disciples of Christ and they deserve our respect. Is it possible that Mary was a prostitute with a drinking problem? Sure, but we don't know and it is wrong to make such assumptions in order to make a show more dramatic and entertaining to its audience.

@@paigemackenzie2297 the road to hell is filled with good intentions, I know that isn't biblical but it shows much insight, everybody does right in their own eyes or my people perish for a lack of knowledge, this production leaves a bad taste in my mouth especially after implying there are some Jesus stories that are boring, nothing with my savior could of ever would be boring
Jesus show that isnt boring? Are u saying if you stuck to how the Bible potrays it it would be boring. The Bible says that God cannot be mocked. And if you feared God i would advise you to end this display
If JESUS STORY has been BORING till this video, how did it get your attention and lead you to Christ? Are you a nonChristian trying to help Christianity ? Or are you blaspheming unknowingly or knowingly ? Realized your mistake! That's if you are truely one of us. If not, NOT all of us are asleep.
ORIONCOAT, Yes most movies and shows on the Bible are boring and just not the best quality with few exceptions. I don't know why, but they are. NO ONE ever said Jesus or the Bible was boring, far from it! Just try watching this series and you will see the love of God and respect for scripture that went into it's making. I'm a stickler for respect of God's word and the God I follow, and I love this series. It is bringing people to see Jesus in a way that brings them TO the Bible rather than away from it. God is good!
